When I 1st discovered this years ago my 1st thought was how in the world was Jesus Behind the order of Melchizedeth this person has to be someone powerful. And when I put all the names together and so forth it made me think this person must have been Christ. But I never felt comfortable saying it was so but my pastor believes it is.

You have to understand Melchizedek was both a king of Salem and priest of The most high God. So Jesus falls under this priesthood and not under the normal priesthood under the law of Moses which required a descendent of Aaron.
We can say Jesus is the second Adam and it doesn’t make Jesus any less as the anointed one who is Lord, just like we can say Jesus is in the order of Melchizedek, who was king of Salem and priest to the most high God and it doesn’t make Jesus any less as God to compare him to this order. Because Jesus is both king, supreme ruler of the universe and heaven and also our intercessor and redeemer.

This was the verse that tied it all together for me and is why I lean more to Melchizedek being the pre incarnate Christ. But also there is credence to Him being a man and the two are similar, and the man I would say he is, is Shem.

Melchizedek was the Word from the beginning (John 1:1-2), Jesus only existed in the flesh in the first century, therefore Melchizedek is not Jesus, Melchizidek was the Word that became Jesus, for these reasons; its not accurate theology to say Melchizidek is Jesus.

  • @JoshOkoye
    @JoshOkoye Год назад +6

Did a teaching on this in my college group, i think Melchizedek is a man because Abram interacted with him and he’s mentioned again in prophecy. The scriptures were usually specific if God himself encountered someone in Genesis. But Melchizedek has a name as well as a place he was King of which was in Cannan. It’s like typology, in 1 Corinthians 10 Paul talks about the rock from which they drank being Christ. In John 3 Jesus references the bronze serpent Moses held up. I think these are cases of typology that God ordered as a shadow or a reflection that showed Christ to come in the OT revealed to us through Christ and the Holy spirit who inspired the writers. They would quote psalms like Christ quoted certain scriptures in the time of his ministry and resurrection to show what the scriptures were speaking of. Hebrews 7 says Melchizedek resembles Jesus because he had no genealogy(beginning or end) and i think it’s saying that’s how he is compared to Christ because Christ resurrected and lived eternally as the son of God. So it makes sense to hat he qualifies as a high priest but one greater than Aaron because he’s one in the order or likeness of Melchizedek who ‘lives on’ and Abraham (and his descendants, Levi payed the tithe as well by being a seed in Abrams body as Hebrews says) payed a tithe to him showing he’s greater. So it continues to prove the point to these Hebrews that Jesus is greater than the old covenant including all the big name patriarchs who the Jews regarded highly of. And our savior has the power of a life that cannot be destroyed (he defeated death) making him the perfect high priest to rescue us from death and sin since the Old system (although god and spiritual) was not effective enough. But I think Brother is wise for not having a firm stance because there’s a mysterious to Hebrews in general and the wording is definitely hard, maybe Melchizedek was taken up like Enoch or Elijah? Idk maybe it would’ve said it🤷🏾‍♂️

Great job rightly dividing the Word,
    Brother Corey.
    Amen 🙏🏿
From using your accessment and based off scriptural analysis you have only three options for who Melchizedek could have been; either Jesus, an angel, or a man and I'm going to agree with you right now that it wasn't some angel so we can close that assumption.
However scripture does line up real well with him being a pre-incarnate Christ figure, which is who I lean towards but just for the sake of argument how do you feel about the Jewish tradition of Noah's son Shem being the High Priest of the Lord Melchizedek. If we are going with the option of him being a man then scripture does align with this argument from a figurative point of view.
    Wouldn't you agree?

EXACTLY. He was the most righteous High Priest, a man of God. He’s not the son of God. Jesus was never born in the flesh twice. That’s so ridiculous!!!
Y’all need to stop with all these heretic nonsense.
There is no scripture to back that up and there was no purpose for Jesus to come as Melchizedek. There was no greater High Priest meaning a mortal man not to be compared with Jesus as a God. Jesus is the only begotten son of God and there’s only 3 in the Godhead, not 4. Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Not Father, Melchizedek, Jesus and the Holy Ghost.
Because of Melchizedek’s righteousness, the highest power and authority from God, known as “The Priesthood” was hereby named after him…. The Melchizedek Priesthood. The lower of the Priesthood was named after Aaron ( The Aaronic Priesthood) and also known as the Levitical Priesthood.
Modern Revelation with Power and a direct line of Authority is that of the Melchizedek Priesthood and the lesser is the Aaronic Priesthood that holds and delivers different powers here on earth from God given to his chosen servants.

Ok I just listened to the message and is funny how many people can't see Yeshua/Jesus in the old testament. As I mentioned before I started that I have been taught about Melchizedek and is Mind blowing because The Spirit has to reveal this to you , so you mentioned some scriptures and I wanted to add some more and meditate on them and allow the Ruach Ha-Kodesh to show you, Psalm 110, David was shown the Father and the Son and from the beginning of time GOD almighty had a plan before the earth was created as 1 Corinthians 2:7 says. The reason why I believe Melchizedek was Yeshua reincarnated because The Word was with GOD, and GOD was trying to teach this to the Israelites from the beginning but they couldn't because of our Flesh, also as you can see no man was perfect as every man kept failing to follow the laws of GOD. And the only perfect King and Priest was the Spirit of GOD and his bloodline was the only thing kept Holy as you can see how bad it was in the days of Noah as well as now! This has always been about the DNA 🧬 of YAH this is why Melchizedek brought wine to Abram, it represents His Bread of Life and Wine the Blood of Yeshua from the Beginning to END, this is why we commune as the enemy is trying so hard to taint our bloodlines with sickness and deceases. Making GOD'S creation unholy , But thank GOD who knows all things had a perfect plan to bring us back to Him Alleluia thank you Yeshua who was, and is, and is to come. 👑🛡️🗡️🕯️🌪️🕊️🙏💦🔥🌈🧬💖

i find it is better too take a soft stance on assumptions for things like this. If you take a strong opinionated stance. You have very little to go on, and mathematically; a decent chance of being wrong. It is also possible if not likely that the very nature of Melchizedek and his mention, might have multiple layers of complexity too it. The bible is full of things like this. Having multiple layers of meaning and nuance. i find those that rush to take stances. Are rarely able to notice the nuances. Assuming that our own understanding, in the moment is complete enough to make assumptions and declare in our heart that we understand the detail of the word. This is one of the best ways to limit our understanding of Gods Word.

What is interesting is that Melchezidek was the King of Salem. Which according to some is also Jerusalem; the same Land that God promised to Abraham. This was a Land, that even though the People in it started to worship Idols and sacrificed their Children to these Idols , God still blessed the Land as evidenced by the Spies sent out by Joshua when the Isrealites reached it. So, God punished the People of this Land by bringing the Israelites to uproot them because as He told Abraham, The Sin of the Amalakites has not yet reached its full measure. Could it be that God's footstool rests on Jerusalem? What is also interesting is that Melchezidek was also a King, which meant that he ruled Salem, yet the People of that region did not continue in the knowledge of God.

Remember Moses tavernacle with God, Moses could not see the face of God in the burning bush or in the tree but he went inside and saw the pre incarnate Christ once again in Scripture. So if Jesus appeared to Moses in the Tabernacle or tent 🎪 but did not appear to him on Mount Sinai only in the burning bush that gives credence to being a pre-condition of Christ. Go back to the book of Genesis where it says Jesus walked in the cool of the garden. Hebrews 6:19-20 is very revealing. It tells us that Melchizedek entered behind the veil, speaking of the Holy of Holies and a temple. At that time there was no earthly temple. We see in verse 19 that Jesus has also entered the Holy of Holies in a temple made without hands which is in Heaven.
The office of high priest, after the order of Melchizedek, is held by one who has the power of an endless life, and there is only one who can meet this qualification, Jesus Christ.
This is only one of the recorded appearances of Jesus in the old testament. Jesus has said, Abraham rejoiced to see my day and glad. Grace and Peace.

Hebrews 7:3 says that : having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. No mere human being or Angel can fit this category . 1. The book of Hebrews is an anti-typical book which means that it explains how Jesus was foreshadowed/prefigured by a person, place or event in the Old Testament.
    2. Therefore Jesus cannot be a type of Himself. Melchizedek was NOT a pre-incarnate/Christophany.
    a. (Heb. 7:15-16) makes it clear Jesus was “another” priest, Not the same:
*Another (Grk.-heteros) adj., means a different person or a second of a different kind that is both distinct & qualitatively different from its counterpart.
    3. they may be similar in type, but not the same in person. (Gal. 1:6)(Acts 4:12)(2 Cor. 11:4)
    a. As such, Jesus cannot be both the shadow & the substance.

I have done some research on this and when Luke says in Hebrews that Melchizedek is without father it's because in the Old testament you list the person's father and their genealogy and Melchizedek doesn't have a list so the Jews basically say that He is God. In the book of Psalms King David says that the Messiah is in the order of Melchizedek and that's where the book of Hebrews references it. I believe that Melchizedek is Yeshua Ha'Mashiach and also appeared to Manoah and said His name is "Wonderful" I also believe that Yeshua Jesus was the burning bush talking to Moses. He also was the fourth person in the fiery furnace with Shadrach Meshach and Abednego in the book of Daniel. It's just food for thought!

The name Melchizedek Salem was derived from Igbo consonants, ('m l ch z d k s l m' and was pronounced as 'O melu chi eze di ka Ose e le ama' meaning 'is there a God King who is like the Almighty God looked at in the church') Melchizedek is not a person or a priest of a town as is usually expressed [Gen. 14:18] rather, it was what transpired when Abraham won a battle, and they were giving praise and thanks to Almighty God.

It would seem we could rule out in being an angel unless you were referring to The Angel of the Lord, but the text doesn’t give us that, so It’s a matter of what the implications are-as per scripture either way, whether it be a righteous man who was a king and a priest (which is only mirrored by Christ himself) or wether it be pre-incarnate Christ- what is revealed is that only Christ fills these offices truly and completely . What is interesting to note is when Jesus affirms His divinity to the Judeans ““Avraham, your father, was glad that he would see my day; then he saw it and was overjoyed.””
(John 8:56 CJB) and again astonishes them with yet another revelation : “Yeshua said to them, “Yes, indeed! Before Avraham came into being, I AM!””
(John 8:58 CJB) he not only addresses His divinity and His appearance to their forefather, it harkens to said appearances where Avraham had met with Him in precarnation. The question than becomes is this referring to only the moments in where Avraham addresses the Lord/Angel of the Lord or when in other likeness he was witness to Him. I.e included in this interaction is it Melchizedek (as his name and attributes suggest: the King of Righteousness (Malki-zedek), King of Peace (Malki of Salem), High Priest of God, whom Avraham gave a tenth to, including Melchizedek having brought wine and bread (offerings and remembrances akin to Christ’s blood and flesh) Abraham’s righteous victory (promises of the Lord and victory over enemies) and blessed him (Again promises and favor with the Lord) and given His ‘order’ (being a permanent and continuing office)?
We don’t have all the information we would like to have as you’ve said and have already covered but there seems to be a stronger tie towards at the very least a uniqueness to Malkizedek and Jesus Christ and at the very least that seems to be more to the point.
Incredibly fascinating topic and interesting that it touches on so many things, like the Trinity of God, it may be that it remains incomprehensible to completely know or understand and that is where the trust and seeking of our Lord comes in to play. His word is so great awesome and glorious it’s a joy to even think about it. Praise Him for His Glory and thank Him for His Grace, our God, our Lord, The Lord God is True. For ever. And ever. As He Has/will/and always is/been.
Thanks Corey for the video and discussion brother, love ya and God bless.

Melchizedek was just a man/priest of God. There’s a special term for when Jesus appeared in the Old Testament, He was called The angel of the Lord or The angel of God. And The Holy Spirit was The Spirit of the Lord. Jesus being associated with Melchizedek in Hebrews is similar to how Jesus is compared to Adam and Abraham. Melchizedek existed in order to illustrate Abraham’s faith.
Jesus is considered in the order of Melchizedek because He was not a descendant of Aaron so could not be a Jewish priesthood under the law of Moses, and also Jesus is both king and priest just like the King of Salem was.

In my opinion, Melchizedek is the Spirit of the Father and the Father is David. David and Jesus - Both tribe of Judah and both are Prophet, Priest, King. Also, they are the only two men mentioned holding all three offices. David/Dovid is the Father of Jesus/Ieouses. Jesse/Ieouses is the Father or David/Dovid. Both are the Logos or Word. They are a lamp and a light. Two Great lights. David is Melchizedek and Jesus became a High Priest forever according to the Order of his Father David a righteous King of Peace, King of Salem. Jeru - Salem.

PART 1. Here is what a modern day Prophet, Seer and Revelator have spoken as revealed through the power of the Holy Spirit as to who Melchizedek really is.
Melchizedek is a great Old Testament high priest, prophet, and leader who lived after the Flood and during the time of Abraham. He was called the king of Salem (Jerusalem), king of peace, king of righteousness (which is the Hebrew meaning of Melchizedek), and priest of the most high God.
25 And Melchizedek lifted up his voice and blessed Abram.
26 Now Melchizedek was a man of faith, who wrought righteousness; and when a child he feared God, and stopped the mouths of lions, and quenched the violence of fire.
27 And thus, having been approved of God, he was ordained an high priest after the order of the covenant which God made with Enoch,”
He was never Jesus so y’all need to stop spreading false beliefs and reading God’s words literally and instead read it spiritually through prayer so the Holy Spirit can teach you the Truth when you have a desire and seek to know and understand.
When you don’t understand a scripture, it’s best to be silent and not introduce your carnal mortal understanding. That’s how false teachings get started. Just Be Quiet, Pray, Ask and then Listen. 🙏🏽

God did not intend for us to suffer with the thousands of different interpretations, religions, denominations and false teachings and seducing doctrines by the philosophies of man.
      There’s 1 Lord, 1 Faith and 1 Baptism.
Despite Jesus being in the flesh, many of the Jews, the pharisees, Sadducees and the scribes rejected his doctrines that he taught which was different from what they once knew and there non-beliefs resulted in persecuting and killing him. No different than today. Y’all believe so much false things and reject the true power of God, especially when y’all can’t figure it out. How is it better to make something up with our opinions presented to our weak mind, but then turn around and reject Godly truth that was revealed for our benefit of our salvation.
We are not to be so closed minded as if God stopped his revelations. Heaven is still open. There are many things that have been revealed to us in preparation of Jesus second coming. He’s needed now more than ever to guide us with sound doctrine so we can all come unto unity as divided we all fall.

@@cowel8734 One thing for certain and 2 things for certain there’s nothing random about God’s chosen servants the Prophet. I’m reminded of Jesus dealings with the Pharisees who came to him with a bait and switch motive. If you seek you will find, if you knock the door will be opened unto you. I will defer you to Almighty God to teach you the truth and the name of his ordained Prophet, Seer and Revelator. When you have ears 👂 to hear you will hear. God will not reveal truth to those who do not seek it out genuinely. Until then my brother or sister the truth will set you free.
If my intention was to be condescending as you are falsely accusing me of, I would not have said “Just Be Quiet, Pray, Ask and then Listen”. You on the other hand is twisting my words and have inserted your own. I personally find it rude of you to use the condescending phrase “shut up” to describe what I clearly did not say. If you knew God’s words where he spoke of us being silent, you would not equate that same word “silent” as if God is telling us to “shut up”. Those are your words, not mine nor God’s. You would do well not to bear such blatant false witness. Further more, it’s important to understand that being quiet and listen will allow you to hear God’s truth being taught. If you are noisy and distracted you would miss out on hearing the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.

You wrote a persons words as if it was scripture, when its just someone's viewpoint. Adding a 'prophet' to it doesn't make it any more trustworthy than me saying "well I feel like...."
Sure, people can interpret the times, but real prophets ended with Paul.
I see many deceivers calling themselves prophetesses who preach lies.
I'm not trying to tell you what yo believe. But commanding people to believe something a person made up as truth is deceptive especially trying to say that we aren't open minded for not trusting this random "prophet"
You won't mention who this prophet is, which tells me that its either : Your own words or its someone you know can't stand against scrutiny, so you purposely omit their name, which is also deceptive.
Adding to the word is evil, plain and simple
