My eyes lit up when i saw the video! There is not enough culinary school youtubers!
Yeah some schools only allow students to film while in class for study purposes. There used to be a show on cooking channel called The Freshmen class. It featured students just starting culinary school. Was pretty insightful and entertaining. Some of the stuff was over dramatized for TV but it did give me an idea of what to expect when I attended culinary school in 2016. As a grad this video had me smiling lol.
@@biggdaddy202003 This is good to hear! Any other CIA or culinary student youtube channels you recommend?
so awesome!! i’m in culinary school and post quite a lot about it !
@@josephcollins6236 i post a lot about my personal culinary school experiences!
Yeah but thankfully there are some and it’s helpful
I’m contemplating going in the direction of culinary arts because it’s always been a huge passion of mine but I always buried it so thank you for this video
I don't know you or your circumstances but just know that the world is made richer when people pursue their dreams, and is smoother when people love their jobs. You should do it.
I always wanted to go to CIA but the price tag was too much for me at the time. I'm talking back in the 90's. So I really appreciate this video. Living my dream through your videos. Thanks.
Yes, you have to typically pay to do laundry at other schools. Makes sense that you wouldn't have to at CIA tho since everyone is working with food all day.
As an Alum (‘07) it was really interesting to see how they are dealing with COVID-19 restrictions. Good video, sound and editing too!
Thanks.
Omg that chef Michael ! I loved him when I was in ICC! You’re very lucky to have him as a teacher he’s great!
Not enough culinary and pastry school videos. Thank you
These videos are extremely appreciated 😁 I'll soon be getting out of the Navy and really dream of going to CIA when out.
Considering switching from music education to culinary arts. Thanks for the video!
thanks for great video. It gave me such a bog feedback since I am quite worried about attendant in 2021.... hope
you stay safe!
OMG OMG OMG. I just found your channel and I’m going to that same campus this Sunday. I’m going to bring e watch your videos before I head out
ahhh yay!!! im going back too! hope to see you there:))
Freshmen squad, where you at?
I just got accepted here and I can’t wait to go
Laundry was definitely NOT free when I was there!
A video of the meal point system would be neat? Like is it included with your tuition or is it a separate food plan you have to pay for
My son just graduated from college in the Northeast and is now doing a 2-year A.A. program at CIA. So far, he is loving it. Can't wait to visit this Fall. Thanks so much for this great video, it helped me visualize all these places that he talks about---you did a wonderful job! By the way, did you graduate, and if so, where are you cooking?
I'm in junior high school, culinary is my dream since i was 8 years old
same
Your lunch looks so good!
the vid was epicc keep up the good work!!
Damn that's really weird during the pandemic...
New subscriber also looking into going to this school keep up the good content !
hey! i’m going here this fall and i was wondering if you could describe the fabric and just like everything about the uniforms?
Thank you for setting my life
Great Video!! This is what you call a day in the life !!!! thank you!
:)
hey, I'm a commercial cookery student here down under and it was cool to see your day. My school is good as it covers cookery, patisserie, butchery, bakery, event management, travel, and flight attendants
Was it hard figuring out where everything is? I'm an incoming freshman in 2 weeks to the NY campus and I have the most anxiety literally just about getting lost because the campus is huge😂
Valorie Fell a little bit, it’s always hard during the first week, but if you arrive a day early I highly recommend trying to find your classes yourself! It’s also considered a small campus compared to other colleges:)
I'm in the process of accepting, when would academic classes happen? Thanks for the help!
when you confirm your acceptance and move onto campus!!
i got accepted for next fall but I'm so nervous to come, especially with the pandemic. any advice?
you've got this!! just stay positive, open-minded, and hardworking and ill be smooth sailing:)
What dorm was that in the beginning of the video? My first dorm was "new hall"
Hi! I’m just watching this video and I have been considering going to CIA myself yet I am vegan and have dietary restrictions I am fine with cooking and preparing non vegan food but I can’t consume it do you think it would be possible to be successful there
yes definitely!! I have tons of friends that are vegetarian or vegan or have celiacs:)
Hii do your school accept international students now even if there’s a pandemic?
I believe so, but I would call or email the school to make sure!!
Hi, are the placements good after an associate programme? Since I do not have a bachelor's degree in culinary.
Hey I'm wondering, do you have to be a second year to stay in the lodges or can you stay as a first year student?
you can be a first year, but it's just harder cause you don't have seniority:)
Great content btw👌👍
Heyy is it possible to get financial aid as a foreigner at CIA??
Just applied for fall of 2021😎 hoping to get accepted
fingers crossed
I have question , how much does it cost to live on campus as a freshman And do you pay monthly? Or is it all at paid in one shot
Hello! do you get saturdays and sundays off or do you go to school the whole week? and can you still go out to see places?
I like your videos so much
1391 on Brentwood boulevard Antioch
Can you wear reusable cloth masks? White or black? Or are you only allowed to wear the disposables?
yes you can!
@@jenniferlalee is there a uniform rule about the color?
Roxanne nope, any color, design is good!
Where is this school located?
even though that tart is baked at 350, covid could still survive, I demand hazmat suits oxygen tubes linked to ever person, but you can still cough in your hand.
Hi... I have a bachelors degree in Catering and Hotel Management from a Kenyan university; which program do you suppose will be a perfect fit for me-Associate, Bachelors or Accelerated Culinary Arts Certificate?
I really think that depends on what you want, id suggest researching more about each program and see which you think fits best for your situation!!
@@jenniferlalee thanks love😊
I m ready for spring 2021 say bye to covid..
Is this you 2nd year there??? I want to go there but I'm not sure
second semester!!
Are the pools and gyms open?
not right now, but hopefully they will once the semester starts!
I miss I too want to attend
How do you guys do dishwashing is there a truck for that or do u guys all have run machines
all by hand in 3 compartment sinks!!
@@jenniferlalee that’s hell oml
my dumb ass thought CIA was that center intelligence agency
The dorms really suck lol ur stuck with a random roommate lol I did not have the egg when I was there and they had just built the workout room lol
my roommate was actually chosen by random, and now were great friends! gotta just make the best of your situation:)
Great craft... pay is beans
I'm a foodie person and would love to explore culinary, so is the CIA a right place for me?.
I would definitely say yes, but also keep in mind that the CIA is for people who know for sure they want to pursue culinary. It isn't easy attending this college so just keep that in mind too:)
@@jenniferlalee Thanks for your reply
Hey future chef, I would like to know about master degree in CIA, because I have bachelor degree in culinary, would you like to share me some information,,
hi there! I could be wrong, but I don't think there is an official masters degree at the CIA. The only option would be to just get another bachelors degree!:)
Is the school shutdown or still open?
it’s open!! but we’ve taken many many safety precautions:)
@@jenniferlalee ahh well thats good. Must be tough to wear all those safety gear.
Stay safe😄
I've always wanted to go to CIA ever since I graduated high school but my parents refused to let me go to study in the medical field... it makes me happy but cry a bit when I see others can go besides me... one day I'll go hopefully... but many people always made me feel scared... what if I fail? What if I'm not good enough? What if everyone calls me names for being a beginner...? so I back fired and went with what my parents wanted...
I actually thought you were in the CIA
Carter's a HATER!!!
guys I thought she was a spy
shhhhh
Hey there iv sent you a dm on Instagram about a collab idea please respond when possible
Random question but what if you follow a vegan 🤨 lol 😂 that’s an actual question. Like should you not go to culinary school if you struggle with dealing with animal products?
If your a B&P major then you rarely have to deal with meat. But you have to work with things like dairy and eggs for both majors!
When I thought she meant CIA agent🤡
lol most people do haha
Satan
Damn you guys talk a lot
I have a bbq business, im 23 yrs of age, i have no culinary school experience. I do have work experience in Mediterranean cuisines, southern cooking, butchering, and east asian cuisines.
Is culinary school worth it for someone like me?
Pls help.
hi there! it is obviously all up to you in the end, but I definitely believe that there is no such thing as too much education or learning experience. with that said, you seem to already have a career, so I think you should definitely take some culinary classes rather than attending a college, unless having a degree is important to you! the CIA is definitely a wonderful school and will teach you many things, but you will also have to take academic classes so if that is not for you than definitely look into culinary classes!!
@@jenniferlalee thanks. I mostly specialize in meats and wood fire cooking for the most part.

I’m a senior in high school and I’m applying here since it’s been a dream to go to a culinary school.
I’m also a senior and I’m going there next fall
@@CheedisPS which campus?

Hey @shaniyahilton I’m starting quarantine as well this Friday Aug 21st ! Angell Hall. Good luck !

shaniya hilton thank you !! What are you studying ?
nick duenas I’m studying Food and Business Management (Culinary Arts). And yourself?
@@hiltonshaniya Very nice ! I'll be studying Baking and Pastry (AOS) 👨🍳. How's the quarantine going ?
I’m a senior in high school and just recently got accepted to CIA in Hyde Park, NY by kinda nervous. So they have a deadline to pay the $300 to secure my spot? I have so many questions ahhhh
Girl you deserve more subscribers- CIA is one of my top schools and you tend to really help with me trying to figure out what this school is really like! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much!!
Do you do only practical class? Am also in culinary school, i do both theory and practical. My theory is about bacteria and temperature
Thank God I did not have to go there with the mask bs lol that would really suck
Which hall are you staying in? I’m heading there this Friday! I can’t wait to be there!
clove lodge!!
watched your macaron video then watched your cia videos. Just subbed
Thank you for making this video!
Hey! Glad to see you are back safe on campus! What lodge are you in?! I’m in Clove once I can go back... (never mind... I should have finished the rest of the video first...🙄) But are you not staying for the fall semester?
sadly i am not:( i’ll be back next summer!
Jennifer Lee Oh wow! Ok! Hope to see you then~
Could you do a video on what business causal outfits you wear and what we should bring if coming the cia
Just got accepted here, cant wait to attend!!!
congrats!! yay!!!
Thank You
will you marry me
This was such a good video to me, as well as one over the stuff people don’t typically know like summer semesters, currently this is my dream school as I’m taking culinary courses rn in my high school! (Junior atm) and it’s all been so informational lol
Glad it was helpful!
You've mentioned there are a lot of rules regarding uniform/appearance. Do most students carry bags and/or chef rolls? Are there appearance rules for those?
just our knife kits to class, otherwise if you're just out and about you can carry anything:)
I loved ❤️❤️❤️
Thank u thank u thank u so much for making this vid and showing a lot of what u do in culinary school cuz I’m think of going in culinary but I don’t know how’s it like so yeah thank u
You are so welcome!
I’m deciding either to go to ICE or CIA (I don’t have to choose yet ima freshman in high school) but i know I want to go to either of those schools.
Can you please do a vedio about gbe the first day experience .I mean i have decided to do culinary arts and its very much existing same time very nervous
wait do you have to pay for the food
Idk... trash duty is best duty if you wanna avoid doing deep kitchen cleaning. Then again, I did culinary. Not sure how deep cleaning is like for the baker students.
honestly i agree with you, but it's only the best in the winter or spring in my opinion. trash duty sucks in the summer haha
i love carter
The school is insanely beautiful, it has always been a dream for me to study at the CIA but the tuition is very expensive converted to a philippine peso cost over a point million pesos. So would you mind if I just ask how much that could cost you for a whole school year tuition fee??
it’s different for everyone:)
@@jenniferlalee Oww I see, well enjoy and Goodluck with your journey miss. Stay Safe and Godbless
Anyone know what campus she’s at
Hyde Park, New York!!
Also I have a peanut allergies do you guys cook with nuts or tree nuts or any kind of nuts in the nut familt
yes, we work with them a lot!!
@@jenniferlalee if you don’t mind me asking what do you plan on doing after with ur masters
@@Sevenfifty8 I don't have a master's haha. I'm at CIA to obtain my associates. later on, I will get a bachelor's somewhere else. But hopefully, in the future I will work in the food media industry, open a bakery, and then launch a company:)
