When I was a kid, there was a guy in the neighborhood who lured me and my friend to his house for candy and cupcakes. Being 7 years old, of course, we fell for it. We both went to his house, but he told us to come back later because his wife was there. Um...ok. But we never went back. We were disappointed little brats, upset about the candy and all, but as we got older, we realized that SOB was most likely a pedophile. He would always be outside walking his brown Doberman, but once the dog died, we never saw the man again. He never came out of the house. Thank goodness his wife was there that day. No telling what would've happened to us.
My grandfather was one of the detectives that caught Wayne. He said when they were staked out on the bridge and they seen his vehicle come up, he knew and then the body came down the River…. Exactly what the other reply said, the real truth, in all likelihood, is *NOT* that he was framed for everything. I believe it definitely WAS him, committing many of the murders, but that *SOME* of the murders were committed at the hands of someone else- or something & many someone else’s- that were far more connected and sinister, just in a different way. I don’t know what I believe but it’s certainly possible, given the time period and the state of things in this country at that time.

That's funny. Williams was NEVER charged or convicted of any of the murdered children and you can look it up on factcheck it you want. He was convicted of killing two adult men and even that is suspect. The DA, Mayor and APD closed the case. Camille Bell, the loudest voice and the one woman who is responsible for the national attention doesn't believe he did it either.
I remember as a kid being afraid of whoever was committing those murders, even though I lived nowhere near Georgia. Glad he got away from that evil bastard.
This man is guilty! Just because he claims he's innocent for so long doesn't mean he is. A lot of serial killers deny their crimes down to their grave even though all the evidence points to them. I guess the more you believe the lies you tell the easier it is to forget the truth.

And plus the two adults who were kids seeing him in that same area. It's hard not to convict him. & The murders suddenly stopped. I just read a blog on a yahoo new site saying that the inmates at the prison Wayne is at, saying nobody messes with him because that dude is "uniquely strong" & has tore up & badly hurt those who have tried to fight him. @@Tazman1234 think about the social norms of that era though. If a white man was walking around in a majority black neighborhood, people WOULD have noticed immediately since it be hard to miss with it being the south. This is why I don't believe the klan did this at all. Most of these kids were taken not too far from their homes with in view, people would have noticed a black child going with a white adult. It would have been socially unusual and suspicious for that time specifically. It had to be someone who blended in well with in the surroundings who wouldn't stick out, a black person aka Wayne Williams. My grandmother is from Atlanta and said even during that time she believed the killer was a black man when she would tell me and my brothers these stories. When my dad was a kid, she forbade him and his siblings from playing no further than the front porch so she can keep an eye on them until the day Wayne was caught.
My analysis on why Wayne Williams is a good candidate for these crimes:- it was rage and hate at not being accepted or attractive and seemingly he expected certain privileges through being light-skinned which did not happen. It was rage against other blacks who he considered beneath him based on the same thing ie drop shots, to be gotten rid of, a shameful thing to him as a light skinned black man. It was his unsuccessful attempt to fit in or be popular or famous. It was his latent homosexuality which caused him to relate to these young black boys in an unhealthy and envious and deviant way which resulted in a rage killing without sexual assault. He chose boys due to his denial of his own sexuality and then his shame and rage caused the murders which continued due to his continuing feelings of inadequacy. His older parents were unable to act as the support he needed and he was virtually left on his own, much as Jeffrey Dahmer was. It allowed for his deviance and internal war to swirl unabated until he acted out. Wayne Williams is the correct person for these crimes and he should remain behind bars!
Also, his father made an inquest about booking a flight to South America soon after the investigation against hi son commenced. They apparently had an off colour relationship dynamic.
Don't know if you've seen it yet, but if you haven't. You need to check out the interview on RUclips with the ex KKK member who said the klan actually murdered those kids. Very compelling interview to. U can tell the man isn't lying...
Just because he claimed he’s innocent for so long doesn’t mean a thing. Charles Manson said he didn’t tell his followers a race war was coming nor tell them to kill anyone till the day he died. There was strong physical evidence and he was seen on a bridge at the same time a loud splash was heard a half mile away from where the final victim was found. The KKK was throughly investigated during the murders independently from the Atlanta Police Dept. and came up with little. While other predators may have been responsible from other murders, I find it hard to believe they would suddenly stop killing forever once Williams was arrested
Yes yes yes. There's a running joke in prison everyone is innocent. They maintain innocence in hope of getting an appeal of overturned conviction. Very common. Doesnt mean shit.
The prosecution asked his friend Sharon Blakely- who knew wayne quite well. If she thought he killed the kids. She said " yeah he did, I'm sorry". Why would she say that if she thought no? She told him to knock off his games, and that he could be hurt. She said you can get hurt by these kids. He was complaining about street kids. He said he can choke them and he wouldn't get hurt.
Im so sorry you had to experience this and Im so sorry you and your family lost your brother. But you are your brother's voice and hero! Im so glad you were able to get away from him, God Bless You!
Another man came forward who said when he was a kid Wayne picked him up in his car and groped him and he elbowed him and managed to get away. He said he wanted to speak out to make sure people don't buy into the narrative that Wayne Williams is a victim.
Good question! Isaac said his memories of that night were vivid and he spoke with conviction that it was Wayne, so I'd like to hear from the other 2 kids
This is one of the saddest parts for sure. It’s sad it’s been turned into a race thing. This Man is a killer that’s why the killings stopped because he’s locked up.
Certain people still want to cover for a murderer and would rather blame in on someone of a different ethnicity. The murders stopped. The parents of the children never got justice for their children because of their own racism. So sad.
My father remembered seeing Wayne Williams at the Fulton County Courthouse in the early 80’s right after he was captured. Said he was one of the creepiest guys he’s ever encountered. Just a blank expression, like he was wearing a kabuki mask or something. He believes Wayne did it. Not sure if he did them all, but he did some.
I believe Issac Rogers. I was 13 at this time and remember seeing the news reports when Wayne Williams was arrested. You don’t forget what he looks like. He has that unique of a look.
Can we all acknowledge how MUCH exposure and attention this case gained BECAUSE of Season 2 of Mind Hunters? We should give flowers to David Fincher for his incredibly well done series exposing these behaviors and introducing the psychology of these terrible, unforgivable humans.
We now have the ability to process DNA evidence. Unless the evidence has been destroyed, that would seem to be the next logical step in determining who committed these horrific crimes.
A lot of evidence was destroyed or has disintegrated to be useless. It never should have been allowed into evidence as well as the "profile" give these were in their infancy.
Someone blogged saying he lived near where Wayne lived & he said he always got a creepy feeling going by Wayne's house long before the murders started!!!!!
According to research and the parents , the murders and missing children did NOT stop when Wayne was arrested . Rather , when parents reported their kids missing , the police would list them down as runaways and brush it off . So bc many were listed as runaways rather than missing , yes according to the police the incidents stopped
To everyone that is interested in the case after Mindhunter, I highly recommend the Atlanta Monster Podcast that brought the case back into the spotlight over 2 years ago.
In this case, every time the cops had the wrong guy a body turned up. It was Wayne's little way of telling them they had the wrong guy. When Wayne was arrested, no body turned up. End of story

Prosecutors could have presented evidence in more than 10 child murders but felt there was no need. Williams was sentenced to back-to-back life terms. Prosecutors throughout metro-Atlanta felt that was enough. “You’ve got a guy and he’s got two consecutive life sentences,” says Drolet. “The feeling was, we don’t plan on doing the trial again.” Over the years, families of some of the victims have expressed disappointment. It dogged former Fulton County District Attorney Lewis Slayton all the way up to the day of his retirement. “What about the critics that say the case was never really solved?” Slayton was asked in 1996. “I would say they (the murders) stopped,” answered Slayton.

Fred exactly. As a child in Atl (late 70's and early 80s), I recall how it was forbidden to go to Stone Mountain because the resurgent KKK would have rallies and burn crosses on top of Stone Mountain. Besides, before Wayne was framed, the GBI and FBI were focused on the 2 KKK brothers in Cobb County who were taped stating 'they were going to kill black children to start a race war in Atl'. The files were destroyed after they convicted Wayne. Wayne was fiber linked and convicted of killing 2 adults, not the 30+ kids. They were finding some of the boy kids with there fingers, ears and penis cut off. That is signature KKK.

It was.......You're correct!!!
@Stan Smith ofcourse he is, the klan murdered those kids...
What has that have to do with anything? A grown man went on tape testifying that Williams tried to abduct him when he was a child.

The prosecution asked his friend Sharon Blakely- who knew wayne quite well. If she thought he killed the kids. She said " yeah he did, I'm sorry". Why would she say that if she thought no? Rather he was innocent or not this was a very scary time for parents in Atlanta. I was child in Atlanta during this time period and didn’t get why I couldn’t do things like ride my bike to the store or walk to my friends house alone. It wasn’t until I was older that I understood why
Weird the murders stop when he's arrested
@@leeandrew8987 This is false
@@Nah.ImCool it is absolutely true. But it is not conclusive as people think
Nobody thinks he's innocent. Not even him. He just misses the attention.
Keep Wayne Williams in prison.
Wow he’s so lucky he escaped. Thankfully he’s here to tell his story ❤
A Klansman, " Itchy Trigger Finger " Nash, while working his shifts as an Atlanta cop, killed over a dozen black men in Atlanta during the late 1940's and ten years later nobody in Atlanta seemed to have a memory of him just like they have no memory that the 2nd Klan era (from 1915-1944) took root in Atlanta, and the 3rd Klan era (from 1946-present) also taking root in Atlanta. This coincides with Atlanta"s white leaders and boosters creating the phony idea of harmonious race relations in the city which was actually the foremost Klan hotbed.
Put the crack pipe down & stop playing the race card Leroy.
@@onlyplayaseattacoswiththei9433 ...your response was useless and irrelevant. Dumb nigga.
@@onlyplayaseattacoswiththei9433 Crack?🤣 Have you seen your family lately? That meth has them fucked up😆😆
A dying white man just came out stating that the Klansmen were behind it...smh
I remember the missing kids faces on the sides of the buildings in Bowen Homes, I grew up in Atlanta off BankHead.
So glad that he got away. I remember this happening when I was in grade school and junior high school. Hope he is doing well. RIP to all of the victims.
Wayne Williams returning to the exact same place to snatch a child where one of the earlier victims was snatched...FOH.
Dahmer got most of his victims from the same bar. Gacy got most of his victims from the same area as well. That’s pretty common for serial killers
@@wildhearts242 Dahmer actually sexually assaulted the brother of one of his victims, years before the victim was murdered.
It's called a hunting ground.
I’ve watched this story( on diff channels) and Mr. Williams, is guilty and it’s sad that most of the families thought he was innocent.
Watch the documentary u will think otherwise
@@hope4937 No she won’t. You just can’t discern the truth.
It's crystal clear he is guilty. You can see him laghing through his eyes when saying he is innocent.@@hope4937
So sorry to hear about your brother😢
I believe the brother. Glad you're alive
well didn't the rate of the child murders slow down or stop after WW was arrested
No, not really, but the List was dismantled a couple of weeks after Wayne's arrest, so the police had stopped keeping records of missing and murdered kids, and the media stopped reporting
I just want to hug this man! Ugh..so terrifying! ❤ Isaac Rogers ❤
Wayne Williams is 100% guilty and the evidence will show.
Bless this victim. RIP to his brother.
Shame to the fools out there believing WW to be innocent.
