I thought it was an okay movie and actually enjoyed it, except for scenes like The Don. I knew what they were going to do from the moment I saw it and wished they hadn’t gone there. Hell, if he had grabbed her butt or something it could have been played for humor. Since he didn’t and was a vanilla bland and nothing ‘this is how jerks act’ shot at the fans who didn’t like the lack of personality they had planned for her, I found it cringey.

See, the funny thing about this to me is that despite being a guy, I've been told to smile before on multiple occasions, because I'm a stoney-faced guy who doesn't emote much unless I'm having fun. By this logic, I was repeatedly sexually harassed by my peers and teachers in school.
I've had the same happen to me, from men AND women, telling me to smile after talking to me like I'm a piece of meat. The only reason I don't is cause I hate terrible jokes. And most people think their comedians. They are not.
“Wolverine is a villain.” It’s funny that he’d even insinuate this considering that in the comics, Logan is the one who carries on Charles’ dream of peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants. Not Cyclops. Not Beast. Wolverine. The man who was treated as little more than an animal and a weapon by humanity is the one to carry on Charles Xavier’s dream of coexistence with these people. That’s what a hero does.
Im pretty sure carol danvers advocates pre emptively killing miles morales because a prophesy said he might murder captain america. She is basically in favour of police violence not just in cases where the victim is a criminal but where youre pretty sure the victim will eventually be a criminal. Here is my take on the deleted scene: IT WAS CREATED FOR BRIE LARSON! Evidence: www.washingtonexaminer.com/a-tsa-agent-asked-for-brie-larsons-phone-number-and-she-was-not-pleased Thesis: Brie Larson actually IS as unpleasant as Captain Plank is in that deleted scene and this scene was made as an "I wish I could do this" scene.
@nerd Surfer Let's see who she gets to torture in Star Wars. My guess she will apply for Palpatine's job ... those force lightnings are nice if you want to torture a poor space biker who asks you to smile. They will probably add a scene just for her (even if it isnt in the first release).
You laugh, but there are people who do believe the idea of courtship (a man approaching a woman) is acutely patriarchal and therefore inherently evil. Which makes me wonder if men approaching men for dating is considered double patriarchy or something.
Let's use pragmatism: If you take the initiative and stay polite, no amounts of arguing will make an harmless act of greeting and casual conversing be turned into wrongdoing. In short: Crazy be crazy yo! Ps: Against a male, it's neutral, not patriarchal. My bad for offending, but that's literally just two male engaging in conversation, or one being greeted/courted by another. Depends if one perceives him/herself as female/something non-male, but then it's a whole-nother case of FUBAR
I had a discussion with a group of friends about this scene and one of them mentioned Terminator. I was surprised I actually had to explain how different that was due to the Terminator being a machine with only one objective (to protect John Connor) and anything else is trivial.
@Dog House He acted in a violent way after the biker refused to cooperate. But again, they are booth different situations. T-800's directive was to protect John and if John hadn't ordered him to not kill, he would have killed most of the people they crossed in the movie. So T-800 spent the rest of the movie incapacitating other humans or forcing them to retreat with higher firepower because John's order modified the priorities in his directive.
Dog House also if we're to look at it in a meta way, that scene in T2 was meant to make the T-800 look like the villain to build up to the twist that he's there to help John. So he's meant to look evil in that scene. And then Plank casually does it and she's meant to be the hero
Don't forget The Don offered her a ride, out of the goodness of his heart, before she assaults, tortures him and steals the ride that he generously offered
Never ask a woman to smile. It’s rude, it’s objectifying. It make us feel like we are just there to be pretty, that our feelings don’t matter. You want to see a woman smile, don’t just ask for it, make her smile, work for it, compliments her, tell her a joke, smile at her see if she respond. Damn in the case her, maybe just offer her help with the directions, she was looking at a map, that could make her smile, a nice helpful man. But don’t just ask for it, you don’t know how she’s feeling, maybe she’s having a shitty day, she not there just to smile for you.
Not to mention that Walkman WAS EVERYTHING to Quill! Literally EVERYTHING TO HIM. It was all he had of home, all he had of his mother. EVERYTHING! Quill was a lot easier on those guards than I woulda been that’s for sure.
"She just twisted it...^w^" From wikipedia's article on Lie: "Minimization is the opposite of exaggeration. It is a type of deception[17] involving denial coupled with rationalization in situations where complete denial is implausible."
It's a common tactic for abusers and manipulators to justify their actions. I have some serious concerns about Browntable as a person based on his arguments.
@@ElectromagNick Eh, I can see why you would, but I think he's just an idiot. People like this rarely actually think about their positions or statements, and the implications therein. I doubt he's some sort of sociopath.
I agree, it’s indefensible that that monster touched her map! It was justice that she then(clearly in fear for her life) took his hand, and preceded to crush it, threatening to permanently disfigure him if he did not give her his personal property! It’s the kind of justice the terminator would be proud of!... if the terminator wasn’t a machine that neither had feelings or emotions and was driven by the singleminded goal of achieving its objective at any and all costs. *Legal Eagle is an idiot*
"if the terminator wasn’t a machine that neither had feelings or emotions" Sounds a lot like Captain Marvel, as long as you remove "machine" from the sentence.
@@urbanberndtsson The Terminator at least came to understand the concept of feelings and emotions, while at the same time realizing he would never be capable of it. ''I know now why you cry. But it's something I can never do'' And then he throws himself into molten steel. The Terminator, an inhuman killing machine, had more emotional agency than Marvel. And Arnold's stilted, heavily accented acting had more emotional impact than anything Brie Larson could crap out.
It's amazing how people like Browntable make such confident statements without realizing anything _close_ to the full implications of them. Take this, for instance: "As a guy, if I had superpowers and a dude came up to me and would be like 'Hey, you want a ride?' If could shoot laser beams out of my hands, that guy would be toast." Congratulations, Browntable! You are now an advocate for the gay panic defense, which has been used to legally argue down cases of first degree murder on the basis that the murderer was provoked into a fit of murderous temporary insanity by the discovery that the victim was homosexual.

I want to see a little "The Don" prequel. His wife, the love of his life passed away. He's been heartbroken and lonely for the last two years. Finally, his friends convince him to make a change. He buys a motorcycle and jacket and promises to try and talk with the first woman he sees. As He's driving away from the dealership he sees a woman who appears to be lost. Swallowing his fear, he parks and decides to approach her.
@@spyrelle3970 Why it was released is a different debate. My guess would be to stroke some egos of people who hate men or just conform to hate whatever is trending on twitter.
Ok, imagine this scenario: A man walks up to a woman and introduces himself, they shake hands and as she moves to withdraw he twists her hand and threatens to break her wrist if she doesn't do what he tells her to do. If that scenario sounds terrible and indefensible but this scene doesn't then you definitely need to take a long hard look at where your sense of morality flew off the rails because something is seriously wrong.
@@aaron75fy For me, the better comparison would be: "A woman asks Superman to take a picture with her and asks him to smile. Superman ignores her, but she continues to bug him. After getting annoyed, Superman offers her a handshake. She excitedly agrees, but then is confused when Superman doesn't release her hand afterward. Superman then starts using his eye lasers (aka heat beam) on low intensity on the woman's wrist, causing her to try to frantically pull away. Superman then twists her wrist, forcing her to the ground, and demands that if she wants to keep her hand, she better give him her camera." Obviously villainous behavior, and you can see why the captain marvel scene was cut from the film proper.
@@aaron75fy the eye laser was referencing the fact that marvel used her zappy powers on her victim. Superman doesn't have any energy based hand abilities, so the closest analogue is his heat vision.
As a waiter, I get told by my manager my biggest flaw is not smiling enough, and he tends to remind me to fairly often. So I’m technically being sexually harassed every shift going by brownie logic
All you have to do to judge the morality of this situation is switch the sexes around. 1) Male Captain Marvel and The Donna: that dude is monster 2) Male Captain Marvel and The Don: they have a term for this. It's called gay bashing. 3) Captain Marvel and The Donna: pretty monstrous. Though possible catfight implications? Probably a man's fault somehow. 4) Captain Marvel and The Don: perfectly acceptable apparently. Edit: Rags also made this argument with Thor as example.
@JoeRingo118 maybe. Not sure who is higher on the progressive stack. I can see it going either way. Hard to judge when people dont have consistent principles
Spot on. But SWJs make slightly more sense when you look at it from a lesbian perspective. To the lesbian everything seem unfair, men are stealing "their" women all the time, and they are left with the fat ones. That's how they justify destroying that man for offering her a ride, he is a competitor, and he must be crushed.
@@JohnCenaWarriorPrincess women are always higher on the stack unless the man is an "under-aged" refugee. There'd be a larger fracture between groups, but the majority will still side with the card-carrying hero.
Yeah, The Don MAY have been a bit rude by pushing the paper down, but it was broad daylight, she clearly heard him approaching thanks to his motorcycle and boots, and he moved very slowly. There were people all around them, it was broad daylight, and he never made any gestures that would convey the idea that he intended her any harm. There is no reality where Carol’s response is justified. People who act like it’s justified are either simply saying that to earn brownie points with their progressive friends, or they literally want the world to have a giant wall down the center, where men and women live on either side, so that men are never allowed to so much as interact with women, aside from maybe the occasional sperm donations.

I remember posting a scene from the D.C. universe where a guy attempts to grope Harley Quinn at a restuarant. She throws him and breaks his arm. Now THAT'S clear cut sexual harassment and the dude was dealt with beautifully making it justified and great to watch. Here it's done to vaguely as The Don is only casually flirting with Carol before SHE gets physical with him. It's a bit of an overreaction which is why a lot of people disagree with it.
Breaking his arm might be slightly overkill but when you are ACTUALLY SEXUALLY HARASSED then the perpetrator deserves punishment... captain marvel literally tazed this guy and robbed him just because he asked her for a smile. She was an absolute asshole for no reason
Even more hilarious beings how Wonder Woman 1984 tends to lean more towards this scene's level of casual talk as harassment (and CONSTANTLY) than the Harley Quinn example.
I expect someone uses Rags' argument of "She was never in any danger" on Wolverine, and try to make that argument "hypocritical" or something. Well, if we remove the whole "Wolverine is actually getting attacked" schtick, Cpn. Marvel is shown, intentionally or just through shitty acting, that she is very calm and shows little to no emotion. Wolverine is exact opposite, in movies and comics is shown, that he has a really short fuse, gets angry all the time, and very often acts before he thinks. Few times it is shown as his strength (in tough fights for example) , and very often as his flaw. He screws up fights due to attacking without plan, gets into arguments (especially with Cyclops) with his team etc. And, the bar scene is an establishing shot, to show us who Wolverine is, unlike Cpn. Marvel, who has been on the screen for a while already. Also, who would let himself be stabbed for fucks sake?
Wolverine may not be in danger of dying, but he still feels pain when he gets hit. He's not invulnerable, he just can't be killed. There is a big difference between those 2 things. Let's also not forget Wolverine didn't actually kill him or steal anything from him, he just threatens him and then leaves. The scene goes: >Wolverine walks into bar >Wolverine sits down and orders a beer >Wolverine pays >Fight club dude comes in and demands his money back >Fight club dude says "I know what you are" >Wolverine says "You lost your money, you keep this up you're gonna lose somethin' else" >Fight club dude pulls a knife >Wolverine pins him against the wall, extends his left and right claws around his neck and slowly extends his middle claw but doesn't actually penetrate the skin >Bartender aims a shotgun at Wolverine's head and tells him to leave >Wolverine cuts the shotgun in half with his other hand's claws >Wolverine eyes them both down to make sure they're not a threat anymore >Wolverine withdraws his claws, adjusts his jacket, and leaves, both the bartender and fight club dude completely intact and unharmed. There is absolutely no argument whatsoever that Wolverine behaved in any way villainous. Maybe one might try to say there was no justification for cutting the shotgun in half, but if I were Wolverine and a shotgun was pointed at my head I might behave in much the same way because I don't want to take the risk of getting shot, and frankly there was no justification for introducing the shotgun in the first place since I hadn't actually done anything wrong.
@@brofist1959 wolverine even did less harm in his scene than capt marvel did in hers (not counting the black eye from the cage fight the two had earlier)

What CM did was the equivalent of Thor holding Mjolnir over some girl's hand and saying "Give me your stuff, or I drop it". Why is this acceptable, by anyone, ever?
I think at this point in the movie she was still brainwashed, so it perhaps makes sense that she was taught to act that way, since the alien race she was with believed themselves superior to others. It would depend on if she acted that way after turning sides.

When I saw the deleted scene the first time I did think the Don't was a tad bit of a douche but harmless otherwise. I was thinking it was going to show some witty dialog from Marvel, but no it showed a harsh use of force from a being of immense power. When I saw Legal Eagle's defense of this I had to point out that it was like a person in full riot gear with a drawn gun vs some guy. I don't know how or why they are defend Marvel, she was completely within the wrong especially as the hero. Never once tried to deescalate the situation and instead resorted to the use of overt force. Near the end of the movie she literally destroyed entire ships full of people who were lied to just like her, no mercy just overwhelming force.

@@amanibob1416 Right, Legal Eagle was when I first heard of it, and with him defending it I thought since I hadn't seen the movie that is was missing something major. She could have done so much more, and I accepted the Terminator's use of force even with him going a tad overboard but he is a emotionally dead robot but trying to compare the a hero to a person you are suppose to think as a villain is a tad insane.
Robert Hill Pragmatism for the win: If you can take candy from a baby, then don't touch the baby, (cuz why harm a baby?), also/and you better *need* that piece of fu*king candy. That's why I hate Captain Marvel. Even in the comics she has these kinds of issues, which would be acceptable if she was some anti-hero like Punisher (not that I'd like her, but it's less frustrating) but she plays at being the cape.
@@SuperSwordman1 The comics continuously bend over backwards to justify Carol Danvers' actions, no matter how reprehensible. It's like they can't stand the idea of her being called on her shit.
The flirting wasn’t even overt. A guy with a motorcycle can ask someone if they want a ride. Sure his tone was flirtatious, but there was nothing to suggest that she couldn’t just say “no thanks” or “I only ride with women” and dude on bike would ride away. If the filmmakers wanted to show he was a douche then there are many worse things to have him say, or he could get aggressive when she says no. If the message is “girl power” then it falls flat at best. And video dude is a homophobe. If his scenario was filmed, and a guy asked another guy out and the guy shot him, the lgbtq community would be outraged. Hell, almost everyone would be.
I think I see what they were going for, but yeah you can clearly see where the writers have drawn their line for when they would start using violence. Writer's subjective take on the scene: "Guy on a motorcycle appears douchey. I assume he wants something sexual, why else do random douchey looking guy walk up to an attractive perso of the opposite sex? I don't assume he's gay for some reason. Him offering help and a ride has ulterior motives, I assume. Let's take all the events of actual bad things happening to women and take revenge on this guy, who hasn't yet done anything wrong, because he looks like someone who I find threatening." Chris Scott Yeah, but Dumbledore was a MAN. Telling a WOMAN to control her emotions. Which is bad. She should be allowed to go on emotional rampages with her god powers all she wants.
Every moment that Capt. Marvel is in a scene in Endgame brought me to the edge of my seat. Basing on her personality, she’s just like a ticking nuke that could blow up anytime if one of her teammates manages so much as to lightly make fun of her. She shouldn’t have been in that movie
Honestly I felt as if Capt. Marvel was added to add shock to someone who could stand up to Thanos. Which I was surprised, until he fucks her shit up and it was pretty irrelevant and dull until the OG heros actually come in to save the day. Carol was just the distraction. ¡Could have been anyone else!
Or, if they really wanted to have a scene with her powerfully defending herself from sexual harassment, they could've featured something approaching sexual harassment in the scene. Dude tries to grope her. Dude offers the bike on condition that she does him "a favor". Something. Anything that actually looks like what they seem to think it is. The way she chooses to threaten removing his hand makes me think they _might've_ at one time intended him to have used that hand on her in some way, so she's going all 12th century Arabia on him. Crazy, but at least moral in a medieval sense.
I really enjoyed Wonder Woman even tho describing Luddendorf (somebody who was trying to establish peaceful way to end WW1 after fronts stagnated again in late 1917) as a war dog and psychopath searching for blood was just disgusting. But the same Wonder Woman? She does mistakes, she is not perfect but she is LIKEABLE. Why? She is positive, she fight for her friends and for herself, she believes in people, she doesn't understand the world around her but she try to act in the most morally correct way. Captain Marvel kills and hurts others and later acts like a savior.

I'm just saying, if you make Captain Marvel 2 a story about her being this almost Sinestro-like figure that has essentially been keeping the peace through fear and that's why she's not been mentioned up until this point, you solve a lot of the problems introduced and provide an interesting character journey for Carol as she comes to terms with the implications of her own power. That or introduce Rogue and have her steal her powers and just have it be a stealth Rogue movie. I'd be down for either.
Sony still has the movie rights to x men. Disney struggled to get spider man in the mcu. Rouge might be easier to attain and I'd love to see a kickass southern bell rather then a blonde piece of toast. They probably wont do it for political reasons.
Tbh I think another good plot for a sequel is to have her lose her powers and earn them back, or put her in some sort of diplomatic situation where she can’t just laser fist her way out. I think it’d add more to her character aside from “I strong and punch”
If he got a gun he'd probably either bury it in the ground out of fear that it'd shoot up his family, or he'd go around pointing it at people to look badass. Most likely the former.
The "It's fiction so it doesn't matter" argument always pisses me off. *We Live In A Society* where movies, games, books and other things are made with the intention of having an effect on you and reality around you. Take something recent like Death Stranding. That game is specifically made with the intention of a fictional story carrying something that can be applied to the real world. Even children aspiring to be superheroes can gain something positive from it. Not only is this disrespectful to creators but also defeats their purpose of defending fictional characters.

What confuses me the most is the fact that they pick Captain Marvel to prop up as the face of the MCU and the perfect example of a strong, independent female character. Why her? She is literally the worst choice to pick for that. You can pick literally any other female character in the MCU and any of them would be a better choice. Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Gamora, Nebula, The Wasp, hell even Mantis! All of those characters are really good female characters that are actually like-able and well written, and would be a way better choice to pick for the best example of a strong female character in the MCU, but instead they decide to pick Captain Marvel, a psychopathic bully who solves everything with violence and aggression. And it doesn’t help that she’s played by Brie Larson, whose acting ability is equivalent to stale bread, and has also said many iffy things in regards to identity politics and sexism. I wouldn’t exactly call her character a good role model or hero, unlike the other women I listed earlier.
I kind of expected Scarlet witch to pick up that role, she is potentinally the most powerful character to show up so far. In the comics thanks to a tragic event she makes mutants cease to exist in multiple different universes. It would be cool if, as a consaquence to all the pain she has gone through in these movies, her powers go into overdrive like in the comic, and she makes mutants, to explain how they will suddently appear in the MCU now that Disney bought the rights. That would make a badass movie, and would make a great introduction to her having powers closer to how strong her comic counterpart is. She, (if you don't count captain marvel) is also perhaps the most mature character left in the team at this point, and with all the stuff she went through, has plenty of experinces to use as a baseline to become a leader, and female face for the mcu if they need that.

@Dog House he's pretty bad at telling jokes so it's possible. But it doesn't matter. this is the standard he set and he will be held to it. If he can claim (without evidence) that people hate Captain Marvel because they hate women, we can return the favor by calling him a homophobe. Except we have evidence.
'She just twisted his hand', spoken like someone who has likely never been in a fight before and has probably never dealt with any actual hostility from others. I'm reminded of when people are dismissive of slaps because 'it's just a slap', a slap can do quite a lot of damage to you if it's done hard enough to the right place. Whether it's a punch, a slap, a twist of the wrist of total obliteration is irrelevant, if it is a situation in which violence is not called for then it is unacceptable to respond with violence of any degree, no matter how minor or major, especially if you want to be regarded as a heroic or morally righteous individual.
The whole argument is moot when heck, the people making the dang movie CUT the scene. It was so bad they removed it to make the movie at least 1% less of a turd. Think about it, people STILL hate the movie without even knowing this scene exists, meaning nothing in the film could even redeem the clip or convince anyone to even vouch for the character because she was THAT unlikable. The removed footage literally confirmed people's dislike of the character. Look at Toy Story's "villain Woody" outtake, no one thinks less of the good sheriff because he's an actually likable character in the finished product. That level of denial as to how bad Captain Marvel is is why we can look forward to many more wonderfully horrible movies going forward. The bright side, we are guaranteed more Rags videos.
The only people that seem to dislike the movie are on youtube. I mean if people REALLY didnt like the movie then why is Captain Marvel merchandise selling very well. And her dvd and blu Ray sales are currently at 65 million which is more then Doctor Strange entire two year run

Also, comparing CM toy sales to Thor's is misleading given trends. Girls normally dont buy toys and Thor has been on the big screen longer and is more well known then Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel toy sales through have exceeding expectations meaning more Girls are buying her merchandise more then any other other female superhero

well never mind the sword part. I thought what indie did was mildly humorous as a kid. given the context of the scene is: people are attacking him openly in the streets, marian just got kidnapped, he doesnt have time to duel some swordsman with all this shit going on, so just wraps things up with a bullet and moves on. Turns out the context behind that scene on set is even more hilarious. Harrison had a bad case of the shits and mild heatstroke and so improv'd this so that he wouldnt have to shoot a fight scene with the swordsman. This one simple move knocked nearly a month of post production, choreograph training, and made for a more believable outcome given Harrison's character would be wasting precious time fighting this dude when Marian is being hauled away by bad guys. So Spielberg kept it.

Rags' example may have matched better if he chose Captain America since he would be more in position to twist a hand rather than using Mjonir
@@aaron75fy For me, the better comparison would be: "A woman asks Superman to take a picture with her and asks him to smile. Superman ignores her, but she continues to bug him. Superman then starts using his eye lasers (aka heat beam) on low intensity on the woman's wrist, causing her to try to frantically pull away.

Here it's done to vaguely as The Don is only casually flirting with Carol before SHE gets physical with him. It's a bit of an overreaction which is why a lot of people disagree with it.
Funny how harley quinn, an actual villain, had a more justified response.
The scene goes:
>Wolverine walks into bar
>Wolverine sits down and orders a beer
>Wolverine pays
>Fight club dude comes in and demands his money back
>Fight club dude says "I know what you are"
>Wolverine says "You lost your money, you keep this up you're gonna lose somethin' else"
>Fight club dude pulls a knife
>Wolverine pins him against the wall, extends his left and right claws around his neck and slowly extends his middle claw but doesn't actually penetrate the skin
>Bartender aims a shotgun at Wolverine's head and tells him to leave
>Wolverine cuts the shotgun in half with his other hand's claws
>Wolverine eyes them both down to make sure they're not a threat anymore
>Wolverine withdraws his claws, adjusts his jacket, and leaves, both the bartender and fight club dude completely intact and unharmed.

It's like being bullied out of your lunch money by getting a fork stuck *through* your hand, nailing your limb onto the table, before *then* being mugged, knife-to-throat... She could've done *anything* beside using open threats while torturing the dude, but that sh!te was FUBAR.
It's all about context up to a point, but threat of bodily harm and acts of torture? Something is wrong with those that defend this garbage and I'm glad there's sanity left on my side of things.
@@amanibob1416 Right, Legal Eagle was when I first heard of it, and with him defending it I thought since I hadn't seen the movie that is was missing something major. But nope, that scene was fully in context and in no way did it show any reason for Marvel to go that far.
She could have done so much more, and I accepted the Terminator's use of force even with him going a tad overboard but he is a emotionally dead robot but trying to compare the a hero to a person you are suppose to think as a villain is a tad insane.
Robert Hill
Pragmatism for the win:
If you can take candy from a baby, then don't touch the baby, (cuz why harm a baby?), also/and you better *need* that piece of fu*king candy. I use that example because when you're going out of your way to hurt and scare and threaten and mock and... ... A human being whom is simply flirting, you yourself have nothing to fear, so you're literally doing all this on top of the "stealing from a toddler" stuff. Kinda *wrong* with a side of *evil* for added nonsense.
We can clearly accept the facts and move along, but we ain't forced to deny both why the deleted scene was removed/altered, nor should we accept any silly defense against either the basic theft, or the FUBAR sh!te which was originally going to inspire so many little frauleins.
But Rag's, why are you talking about Captain Marvel?! Spiderman is coming out!
"Why am I having to explain this to adults?"
The only good thing we got from Captain Marvel was the Don
@jbiehlable
And the reminder that True Lies existed. Guess they never heard the rule, "Don't reference good movies in your shitty movie."
The Don is good. The Don is light.
Writer's subjective take on the scene:
"Guy on a motorcycle appears douchey. I assume he wants something sexual, why else do random douchey looking guy walk up to an attractive perso of the opposite sex? I don't assume he's gay for some reason. Him offering help and a ride has ulterior motives, I assume. Let's take all the events of actual bad things happening to women and take revenge on this guy, who hasn't yet done anything wrong, because he looks like someone who I find threatening."
Also the scene was deleted, which shows the filmmakers have some sense, but still left it on the DVD...
I see Carol Danvers didn't have an Uncle Ben. With great power comes great responsibility.
She kinda did. That one dude kept trying to get her to control her emotions and her rage and not use rely on her powers. Maybe if she had controlled her emotions none of this would have happened.
Chris Scott Yeah, but Dumbledore was a MAN. Telling a WOMAN to control her emotions. Which is bad. She should be allowed to go on emotional rampages with her god powers all she wants.

More like "it's fiction so it doesn't matter as long as it supports our shit, otherwise, it's evil and must be banned."
Try using "it's just fiction" when SJWs bitch about diversity or toxic masculinity in games or movies.

Best I can figure? Either like many people they mistake "assholeness" with "independent"
Or they just want to take advantage of both Marvel and Larson make good eye candy/poster fodder

The whole argument is moot when heck, the people making the dang movie CUT the scene. It was so bad they removed it to make the movie at least 1% less of a turd. Me: SEXUAL HARASSMENT!
well never mind the sword part.
