We saw Kratos doing so many wholesome things in this game. It was perfect
From the beginning of the game, the way Kratos treats Mimir is different. Calling him by his name, actively seeking his advice.... These two games are a testament to tangible change.

Berserkers fights is easily one of my favorite part in GoW Ragnarok. They really pack a punch even on Normal difficulty 😂
They’re hard af too if you’re playing on GMGOW or new game plus GMGOW.. ppl saying it looks easy clearly haven’t played 🤣

@@ahmadfarisfebrinaldi344 I don’t think so yet but once it does, it’s light years harder. All enemies are 7+ level. Berserker’s are 9 and the final one is 10 if I’m it mistaken. Their attacks are more rapid and faster. It’s not easy lol

Plus, I’ve played the game and don’t find them hard. Except for more than 1 berserker that you have to fight in the deserts of Alfheim and at the mines of Svartalfheim. Gosh, I find that very annoying to deal with.
I'm on easy one above story and it's kicking my ass the lightning one that's why Im here. I use to play all God of wars on hardest difficulty. But I have a life now so now I try to just finish games😂😂

I can see the drastic shift in their game design philosophy , from massively scaled cinematic battles against gigantic bosses of the classic trilogy to traditional third person combat approach

blend together honestly. The circular arenas and dodge block parry approach to gameplay doesn’t help.
That's called the ps4 limitations. With that type of graphics you can't expect to have massive wide scale boss battles on potato hardware
@@Hecca. from the gameplays i've seen, it's not all about dodge-block-parry, like large AOE attacks with huge windups can be interrupted instead of dodge. Parry-able attacks don't always show the yellow circle. Enemies that teleport away can be hitstun'd by the axe long enough for you to close the distance or be dealt with the spear/blades of chaos.
I don't like how it looks with mob fights though. One spongy boss is cool, but a lot of spongy enemies gotta suck.

Honestly, that triple Berserker fight is probably the hardest boss in the game.

Of all the beserkers, I found the triple fight the hardest; putting 3 in a small(ish) area really made the difficulty feel artificial. Much harder than the King for. But Gna whopped my ass up and down the arena for a few hours, even when being just a few hits within victory.

13:52 was honestly the hardest one in the game for me, there was way too much going on at once with 3 berserkers attacking, and Freya wasn’t any help.

Only one I changed difficulty on, because the fight was borderline unfair and not balanced in my opinion. I beat all of the other bosses on the second hardest difficulty. Thank god I wasn’t on GMGOW for my first play through.
They need to rework the fight so that they don’t all simultaneously target you at once like the berserker duo. Because at least with the berserker duo one will attack you while the other will have their focus on Freya so it’s balanced.

And then when u kill the main one the sisters start warping away and warp upwards to slam u then warps away all while the other spams range attacks🤦

Go after the sisters first, they share health.
Memorize the berserker moveset then you should be good

I don't want to say skill issue because that's rude, but I don't know how else to put it. When you are getting the crap beaten out of you, you have to, as Soulsborne players put it, "git gud".

@@MrBigB Highly disagree, I didn’t have much of a hard time with the last one mostly cause runic attacks were so busted but this game seems a lot more difficult. Even on the lower difficulties the enemies still feel spongey at times and the power of runic attacks for the most is cranked down from 2018. Enemy AI’s also feel way more aggressive to me, and there’s more enemy variety so more movesets to learn.
Difficult to pull off though.
It took me 2 tries to kill Odin, 2 tries to kill Thor, 2 tries to kill Heimdall, and it took me 20 tries to beat the bold. Each one of these bosses is harder than all every boss in the main story.
Same hate them all specially Hrolf.
I like this better than hitless boss rushes. It feels much more genuine and really shows how tough the fights can be

My favorite One is Hvítserkr
Previous game saw us liberating 9 valkyries from their cursed forms, now we're fighting a bunch of spectral vikings that sacked a peaceful kingdom.
So they could help Hrolf avenge the murder of Helgi and the rape of Yrsa, Hrolf's parents. But in the end, Hrolf's insanity did end up making a number to them.
@@jorgebersabe293 In the real mythos of Hrolf, his parents were also father and daughter and not just husband and wife. The developers decided to go with a different version of Hrolf in this game. I love Mimir's colourful language over them.

But one thing that i didn't see anyone saying: Explode the spears, they give a decent amount of damage, specially if u have that skill that allows you to charge the explosions.
Definitely. Some of the berserker fights are more manageable with the spear because they keep jumping away from you to the other side of the arena. The exploding spears can be upgraded to inflict decent stun which helps too

It's fun seeing Kratos weapon hunting again. Adding to the ol arsenal. Makes me wonder if he still has all those weapons he's collected or if he stashed em away somewhere. The blade of Olympus I know he left that where it dropped.
All of his other weapons were destroyed by Fear Zeus.
All his old weapons lost their magic; they're useless now. Kratos and Mimir discuss it on the boat.

@@gilbertotabares8196 yep the magic of his is exclusively to it's land.cus he's not in Greece lands and (also maybe cus that place is destroyed without gods like sun, water) It's the same for norse too . Their magics is related to the earth. Mimir explains it
@@uniq6998 yeah I saw that. Since the pantheon fell they took their magic with them. The Titans too. Of course now his magic is more portable since its bound to his new weapons. We'll see if he gets to keep em this time.
Great stuff! I'm playing on gmgow and wanted to see the difference. You pretty much have to play perfectly in gmgow because almost every attack from almost every berserker is a 1 shot. I feel like im doing a no damage run and I've only fought 4 of them.

A tip for Starolfr and Bodnar would be that the spear is going to be your best friend, it really helps because it really pays attention to just a singular enemy so they both don't team up on ya

Exactly, I was saying "lemme talk to the people that greenlighted this, gonna punch them in the face". Got 3 berserkers basically jumping you, got ice, fire, and axe attacks coming at you in twos and threes and Freya is no help 🙄 I'm very good at this game but even these maxed me mad. I just learned them and got strategic, I used bifrost and learned to constantly switch to my weapons to lay runic attacks in rapid succession. Then I became mindful of the background berserkers and killed the big one first, then I dodged the other two without much trouble and just toyed with them as I killed them because they're absolutely nothing without the big one 😂
@bigb0ss563: I was alright with the Poison elemental guy, its just the tag team ones and that guy in The Sinkholes that I think I will have to wait to be level 9 Armour as they are kicking me to the curb and I am on Story Mode.
I found that the trio beserkers are harder than the final beserker.

They are. The trio took me 20+ tries
The king too me about 4 or 5 tries.
For me i Got thrm first try but nifleims took me the longest
The final berserker is easier then the duo, trio and niflheim berserker that covers your entire health bar in bifrost while constantly teleporting.
I don’t understand how anyone found King Hrolf to be more difficult then Gná, but to each their own.

The valkeries and berserker have lots of similarities. Both of there groups die in the same manner. Valkeries had there wings ripped off and all the berserker were decapitated. Also the final boss for the side quests both stagger kratos upon starting the fight.
The combat feels more smoother and balanced...kinda like how it gives a different feel of play from 2018 GoW
One more quick tip, when the king is charging up in the air for the big AoE, just throw a spear or your axe and he will get stunned. Same with the earlier beserker that makes up his entire attack stream.

if you fancy watching documentary videos about history, especially ones that emphasize on battles and military forces, watch "Viking Berserker" by Invicta for further information about these berserkers
Hvitserver in Vanaheim was the biggest pain for me, especially with the additional enemies. Plus the vegetation in the background made it hard to see him and/or his flunkies.
I actually tweaked the accessibility options to make him red, the additional enemies blue, and the background white - just so I could keep track of him.
The bifrost berserkers and the trio and duo berserkers are a pain in my ass. Oddly, it only took me one try to defeat the king. The niflheim berserker is harder and the trio is without a doubt the hardest boss fight inthe game. Even gna is a cakewalk for me.

Throw your axe/spear at the bifrost berserker to cancel her main attack
Idk who in Santa Monica thought it was a good idea to have multiple bosses with the way the damn camera is in this game as well as how they attack. This was definitely some Dark souls / Elden Ring mindset and it was freaking stupid
One Boss is ok but three or two are to much...

Valkyries weren't this hard...double and triple boss fight are a real nightmare in this game.
Hardest one for me was the 3 berserkers in alfhiem, was kinda low lvl and I manage to beat 3 of them in 20 minutes lol

well, Mimir, if you look at Blade of Chaos, that blade history make that sword's history pale in comparison... lol
but yeah, in the end, weapon are just tools, it depend on the user how they gonna use it.
I disagree the blades did cause suffering but it was for vengeance better than the swords legacy that was simply used for cruelty and pain and death kratos had more reason and right that hrolf and his berserkers hence why they weren't taken by the Valkyries and we're roaming even in death
Watching him play this on normal is a little exciting. I’m playing on gmgow so I already know I’m in for a lot of long days trying to kill all the berserkers lol.
The trio and Hvitserkr the bold keep summoning all that mob which 1 hit you if you got hit once (yep 1 hit and poison afflicted) are really the real pain in the *ss

I have never played any of the GOWs before and I got this one when I bought my ps5 so I played it and fought Callous as a level 4 Kratos without the spear and let me tell you I was yelling and cursing most of it but somehow I managed to kill him.
I still have no idea how to use the shield properly, I think I just suck at defense.

Fighting the beserkers on my second "Give Me No Mercy" difficultly playthrough really made me get creative with my build in regards to armor, amulet enchantments and runic attacks. Once you prepare for the encounters, they become quite easy.
I also really enjoyed experimenting with the different shields and their ronds. I got really good at parrying.
I actually tested out a theory about gamers muscle memory I kept wondering why I kept dying to these things and after a certain number of tries my body just seemed to go into overdrive and have all its energy into parrying and attacking and it took my body to get the muscle memory right for each of them
After playing elden ring this feels like a walk in the park.

I like the berserkers themes, and they're an upgraded version of the God Of War for PS4 theme when you fight the first fire troll with those venom dudes, but I want to know the name, anyone knows it by any chance?
I can’t fucking believe they mentioned *Lejre* ! Thats a danish town that Still exists to this day! Back in Viking age it was one of two major port cities in Denmark. Lejre and Roskilde the capital.
It’s so surreal to see Danish related stories like King Hrolf, Skjoldr and Lejre make an appearance in any kind of media! We rarely get mentioned in most blockbuster stuff when it comes to Vikings so this is really appreciated!
After the valkeries in the first game, the beserkers and Gna weren’t very hard in my opinion. Still good bosses though.

I can’t even beat these berserker on the easiest mode after beating the normal game on give me god of war. The balancing is insane and getting attacked by 3 things at once is nearly impossible to parry and block. On GIve me GOW mode I barely make a scratch. Props to anyone who can do it but after conquering the entire game, these guys are like 10 levels harder
Getting the best armors in the game makes it easier not to say they are a cake walk but their are different doable especially if you have a realm tear build that's cheese
@@jfoster8624 I made a realllllllly dumb mistake, I’ve overlooked the fact that you can upgrade the light and heavy runic attacks…I went the entire game without upgrading them…it’s gotten MUCH more doable since I learned this.

I actually liked the valkeries more than these guys,they're way cooler looking and better death finisher. I mean something about ripping the wings of those valkeries after a tough fight is soo satisfiying rather than just fast chopp of the head. And based on the two that i recently fought, their lines are pretty annoying, the last one just keep saying "eldiga" on all of his moves. I was like "will you stfu!" 😂

From my experience though they aren’t nearly as polished, there are times in clearly dodging attacks and yet here I am still taking damage or my attack is clearly hitting them yet they aren’t taking any damage, it’s sad cause in 2018 the side bosses were just as good if not better than the bosses in the main story, yet from the ones I’ve faced so far in the endgame, they’re lackluster
I find hilarious how in the actual myth this 12 berserks are heroes and Aldis is the guy how kill the actual king

Anyone who thinks Hrolf is the hardest right in the game is wrong. I lost track of how many times I heard Mimir say "Hrömundr the Cruel, Svipdagr the Cold, and Vöttr the Prideful." Seriously, whose idea was it to make us fight three bosses at once?
Naw they were easy AF literally if you actually leveled up Freya or Atreus they would literally 1v2 and just fire smart arrows you would never have to worry about a random projectile attack and the main one was so predictable the one who spawned in the minions is harder than the triple fight and the kind is easily the hardest on gmgow he literally uses combo bifrost and fire attacks and all of his moves come in quickly he's tougher than the others by far
@@jfoster8624 I had Freya maxed out when i fought them. The other two still kept pelting me with ice and fire. And the one who kept summoning reavers? I beat him in one go.
@@raspberryjam3724 gotta use her runic arrows the sisters can't do anything with her all in their business just pump all your damage into the main chick then the others are fodder at close range which is why you companion can literally solo them without you having to worry as long as you use the arrows effectively
@@jfoster8624 I did use her runic arrows. Still didn't keep them from throwing a couple almost impossible to avoid orbs my way.
I don't think you understand. I fought these bitches for like four straight hours. I had plenty of time to switch up my strategy and see what I was doing wrong. And even when I did everything near perfect, I could still make the tiniest mistake and it would screw me over. Granted, now that I think about it, my difficulties could've come from the fact that this was my second Berserker fight, which would explain why I blasted through most of the others.
I actually found that fight more tolerable than the fuckin’ Godskin Duo in Elden Ring.
