My grandmother loved this song, it played at her funeral, and since then i can’t hear it without tearing up a little. I miss her, but i love all the memories this song stirs up. Frank was the best crooner ever, at least in my humble opinion.

This couldn't be more my dad. He passed away in 2021. As he lay there on hospice he took his last breath after a long Alzheimer's battle, squeezing my mom's hand, and passed away. He had asked us to play this when he died and wow what a moment it was. A great man, leaving a legacy of a life well lived. At 77, he ran the race all the way. Not a morning I don't wake up now without my dad as my first thought

    Fun facts about Mr. Sinatra:
"Sinatra played a significant role in the desegregation of Vegas casinos and hotels in the 50s and 60s. He often demanded apologies for any racist incident and championed the abolishment of Jim Crow policies in Sin City before fulfilling his show contracts.
He opened the door for many Black artists and sent a clear message to his audiences, saying that racism and prejudice had no place in his concerts. He was adamant that African-American entertainers must be treated well and equally.
Nationally, he supported Martin Luther King Jr. financially. He headlined fundraisers for the Civil Rights Movement and received a lifetime award from the NAACP."

Even before Q, he took Sammy Davis Jr. to Vegas to perform when Vegas was still segregated and he told the casino "Sammy stays with us".

Frank Sinatra was the Elvis before Elvis, Sinatra was the original artist of this song, and Elvis did a version as well later on and did it perfectly ❤👍

Sinatra was the first superstar that had women coming out in the streets to see him. He was a son of immigrant parents from NY . He was relatable to average people and had a great voice .Back then powerful people looked down on an Italians and he helped break out many others. He was a strong advocate for many Black Vocalists and helped the civil rights movement.

Frank Sinatra -- December 12, 1915 - May 14, 1998 -- First hit record (1939) was All Or Nothing At All, billed as Harry James & his Orchestra featuring Frank Sinatra. Very first ever "teen idol." One of the greatest rabbit holes you could jump into, with a very lengthy discography. All worth listening to. Among my favorite songs -- I've Got The World On A String, Witchcraft, Fly Me To The Moon (with the Count Basie Band), I've Got You Under My Skin, & Love Is A Many Splendored Thing. Frank also has a long list of wonderful movies on his resume. An incredible career for one of the greatest voices of all time!!!!!

This song was written for Frank, and he sings the hell out of it, but he actually didn't really like the song. He thought it was too braggadocius.
Frank was a man among men. If you really want to go down a Sinatra rabbit hole, I recommend doing it while also getting to know him - his history, life and loves.
He had 2 singning careers. The hurt and heartbreak at the end of the first changed his singing and changed him in many ways.
He was mercurial, cruel, generous, loving, embullient and intensely private, joyful and depressive. A fascinating man, who lived more in a life than most could ever hope to accomplish.

Frank played the mob controlled casinos in Vegas and was instrumental in getting them to de-segregate them. He had a young producer named Quincy Jones who wasn't allowed in the main entrance to the casino or even allowed to stay in the hotel attached to it and Frank said, if Quincy doesn't walk in the front door and stay here with me, I'm not playing and they let him in because Frank was that big of a star.

Sinatra recorded My Way in the late 60s. (I remember; I was a teenager and it got lots of radio airplay.) By then, his physical appearance was much more mature than he appears on the album cover displayed during this reaction video.

"My Way" is Paul Anka's English-language version of the French song "Comme d'habitude," released by Frank Sinatra in 1969. The original song was written by Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut, and Claude François, and was first recorded by the latter in 1967.
The song was a success for a variety of performers, including Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Sid Vicious. Sinatra's version of "My Way" spent 75 weeks in the UK Top 40, which is the 4th most weeks in UK chart history.

Sinatra was Elvis and The Beatles way before either one. In the 1940's he would pack theaters with teen girls who would be losing their minds over him. They were called Bobby Soxers.
They would wear white Bobby Socks and black & white saddle shoes. The old crooners like Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and many others knew how to rock in their own way. I was born in 1958 but that music was always in my life being from my parents generation. In the 60's and 70's these guys were still on TV a lot. You just kinda took it for granted.
As a kid I was all about The Beatles and sixties rock but I liked the old timers too. Sinatra was a pretty damn good actor too, he was in some great movies.
The forties had big band music which actually swings, young people were rocking in their own way back in the day.
Here's one to check out from 1941, the video for The Andrew Sisters "Boggie Woggie Bugle Boy" it swings.
    Check out the video.
The song was released shorty before the attack on Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41 and from 42 thru 45 was a big hit.
