I keep hearing about all the problem with Brompton bike, punctures, bad on drought roads, and yet, your out on one doing it all, I'm amazed, you must love that bike?
Wallington Hall was the standard day out when we were kids and had friends over. That and Bolam Lake. Wallington Hall was actually the last place I went for a walk with my dad before he died.
Absolutely: Just show it no fear. If it senses fear, it'll bite you! 🤣 Actually, in all seriousness, it's pretty well behaved at slow speeds on this sort of gravel. Doing one handed though when it's going faster... well, that could be a recipe for disaster!
Abso-bloomin'-lutely! It's now got a 39T chainring, and a Brompton Wide Ratio hub on the back too. This means it spins out at about 25mph, but it'll climb pretty much anything that I'm likely to do. 🤗🚲⛰
@@KarlOnSea very interesting to read the change in chainring, where did you get it from? always found touring on my brompton a bit painful with the hills
@@wellermj it was actually from Amazon - couldn't find the equivalent that was in stock at an actual bike shop. Model is Stronglight 5-arm / 130PCD Chain Ring, currently £18.50.

Could you to a video on your Brompton touring setup? The standard backpack is absent, so I'm interested in hearing how you do it.
Nice little adventure Karl.
Nice! Gravel tracks on a laden Brompton must have been fun...

Hi - enjoyed your film thanks for sharing. Wondering which handlebar grips you have, am looking for something similar for my Brommie?
Are they Carradice bags you have front and rear?
Thanks for all your great videos! Did you change your chainring from 54t to a smaller one , maybe a 44t? If so, I’m sure it climbs a lot better!
