Went on a group camp couple years back one guy had no gear ( looked like he got in the wrong cab from Sloane Square) myself and my buddy were the only people who had turned up not in a car /van etc People were genuinely amazed that we had managed to go anywhere without a car . Todays campers lol
We are in Portugal just picked up our Brommies from Sam the Lisbon dealer- great bloke- we are loving their simplicity and ease of use. Thanks for the video inspiration- enjoyed watching your adventure. Bon Bromage!
Great trip! It’s super versatile having a folding bike. You can jump on and off trains and enjoy riding and travelling. I take mine all over the world 👍🚲⛺️😉
We really enjoyed watching this. We live in York and have done much of this route. We know the Wolds fairly well and love this area. You were very brave camping in the rain. Beautifully filmed. Thanks for sharing 🙏👍
Thanks for another great tour Karl. I did the same route on 27th May 22 but living in Market Weighton I picked up the route in Pocklington, heading through the Vale of York first. Glad you got some fine weather and well done for dealing with the wet weather so easily. Keep safe.
That shot of the Brompton leaning against the phone box couldn't be anywhere else other than the UK. Thanks for sharing, I know making these videos can take a lot of time. I'm sure you were glad you had mudguards fitted to the bike! I don't know this part of the world so I enjoyed seeing what it's like. I'm too old to camp so I stick to fixed centre cycling holiday but always in an area with history and interesting places to stop. I follow one or two other cycling You Tubers and you all have the same spirit of curiosity about their surroundings.
Enjoyable video Karl. I have just bought a Brompton to compliment my two other non folding bikes (a traditional tourer and an ATB bike) I can see how versatile the folding bike is. Thanks Sandy
Hi Karl, really enjoying this series of videos on the Brompton. Could you do a video on the gear you use (bike specs, tent, bag, etc)? Or even list it out? Really interested in doing something similar and it would be great to hear what works and what doesn't. Thanks!
I like the vid, thanks. I use a DJI for mine. Just bought a Tern Tour, so hoping to do some train/ride/camp trips. What is the front bag please, looks a decent size.
In most of route only roads are filmed but not Brompton. Please do film Brompton most than the roads. Roads will certainly be there. I was interested to see the Brompton’s ride and how it carries the load
Fab video and most inspiring. Thanks. Can you tell me the navigation system I saw on the handlebars and - what's the white plastic looking vertical cylinder thing on the right of the bars, please?
I use a Garmin (Edge 530?), With Komoot to do the route planning. If you buy Jack's book, he has links to all the routes, and you can import these into Komoot for checking details, adding diversions, etc The little white thing on the handlebar is a holder for the Insta360 Go2 that I use for most of the footage. Great little camera!
Thanks for making these videos. They're just the right length to watch on a coffee break or lunch hour. I've been eyeing up the same camera you (apparently) are using, its tiny form is very appealing and the image quality seems to be really nice. If you don't mind me asking, is the image stabilisation done in-camera or in post-processing?
Hi - the image stabilisation is in-camera. As far as I can figure out it's CCD sensor is circular, and bigger than full HD. In the phone app, you can select the aspect ratio and wide/narrow/linear/action cam image correction. It's great, but the only thing I'd warn about is that it doesn't play with my MacBook Air. So I have to use the phone app to get the files out, making the workflow a proper chore.
Thank you! The Bromton is pretty good on gravel / cinder trails, but the small wheels don't handle bumps too well, and the tyres aren't really up to anything slippery - I had a couple of sketchy moments on the track through the field with the oilseed rape, with some muttered curses under my breath!
Hi, can you tell me what handlebar grips you use on your Brompton please? I'm looking at GP2s at the minute but yours look like a good alternative. Thanks 👍🙂
Yeah, I agree. Basically I need to get better at using the plug in mic with its wind baffle as I'm using the music as a filler for The Very Loud Wind Noise. Thanks for the feedback. 🤗
It's good to see that anyone can give camping a go without a car

nice adventure, i'm a brompton rider also.
You are like a bird. So free. You go wherever you want to go. You are living the life!
That's another cracking video Karl. Thanks for fueling us armchair tourists.
Thank you. I reckon it's time you took your excellent Moulton out for an adventure.

Thank you! I'm not sure I had much choice about camping in the rain... But thankfully it stopped soon after dark, so I had a pretty good sleep. 😊
Fantastic film and looked like a great ride. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. Camping is good fun & it feels like breaking the rules of society!
Great video! Does your tent fit in the camper long flap by carradice?
Disaster with the stove. Lovely views. Cool t shirt. Subscribed.
Thanks! Yeah, I was a lot less than impressed with that. I now own a genuine Trangia, which actually cost me less than the fake one from Amazon.
Wow, that solar system cycleway is such a great idea! Nice vlog, thanks!
Very good video
Good luck on your rides 👍
Lovely journey thanks for taking us along. Love the very Sisters of Mercy inspired t shirt! Do you mind me asking are they available anywhere?
Lovely Brompton videos, keep up the good work!

Certainly can! The next video in this series was actually going to be about the bike, so it makes sense to expand it. 😉
@@KarlOnSea brilliant!! Thanks
Loved that👍
😘
Nice vlog Karl!!
Really nice video , sir ! Happy cycling !
Great video, thank you for inspiring! Could you tell me the Brand of your front bag on the bike, please? Enjoying your videos, Thank.

@@KarlOnSea So appreciate the response Karl. Thank you.
Great video. Any punctures along the way? What tyres did you use?

@@KarlOnSea Thanks. That's very useful to know, as I am also on a Mac.
loved the video, what tent do you have Karl
Karl, may I ask what Brompton bags you use on there day trips please buddy?
Really enjoyed that. Especially as I grew up in the area. How was the Brompton on the off road trails?
Thank you! The Bromton is pretty good on gravel / cinder trails, but the small wheels don't handle bumps too well, and the tyres aren't really up to anything slippery - I had a couple of sketchy moments on the track through the field with the oilseed rape, with some muttered curses under my breath!
@@KarlOnSea well you’ve inspired me to take my Brompton out on a trip like this, I might even film it! Keep up the good work 👍
Hi, can you tell me what handlebar grips you use on your Brompton please? I'm looking at GP2s at the minute but yours look like a good alternative. Thanks 👍🙂
Out of interest how much weight can you carry in your saddle bag? I see lots of reviews but no one every says what the max. weight should be. Thanks.
Is your tent the Vango F10 helium? 1 or 2 person?
Hi - no it's a Terra Nova Laser Compact 1. Packs down tiny, but roomy and with enough space in the vestibule for my Brompton.
@@KarlOnSea thanks!
Great video, shame about the weather.
Like others in the comments, I'd also like to follow your example, on a Brompton. +1 for your kit list/ set up. Cheers, chris_debian
Might I recommend removing the soundtrack. They are repetitive and annoying and take away from the tag-along experience. Thank you.

Riding without an helmet is so dangerous especially if you are out on your own.
Nice
