Apart from the jaw-dropping chops, Guthrie seems like such a well-balanced bloke, always ready to share with enthusiasts. His whole vocab for describing what he wants in his guitars, and the sounds he hears in his head... 'sometimes you need a little creaminess in your life...' is so entertaining to listen to.

I think he´s the best rock-fusion guitar player in the world.. his musicality matches his amazing ability and his diversity on styles, make him really unique, far away from others fusion and rock players.. only weakness, his composing production it´s really little..only one solo record? c´mon! he should make at least five in past years

Played a basswood J Satriani Ibanez at a jam session and it was so springy and lively I felt like it played itself and fought me less than anything I've played since. Maple top makes this Charvel experimental do the Les Paul thing in a way, yeah? I heard so many different variations in sounds depending on the attack used it is very appealing.

Very cool guitar. I am copying that jack cup on the next guitar I build - great idea. I bet the dots by the knobs are index markers for numbered knobs - like you can get the old-fashioned metal pointers on washers to put under speed knobs. That would be so handy if you get most of your timbrel changes from the guitar itself.

I think one of the easiest ways of knowing if someone has a unique voice is if you can listen to them and immediately know its them. Its obvious with Vai and Holdsworth, but I think you can also tell with Guthrie. There really is no one else like him - not to say he's the best or the best in every style but he takes what he wants from each and at the end of the day its him. You really wouldn't be able to listen and know immediately its guthrie govan?

There's really no stats to go by which player is better like sports because in my opinion music is in the ear of the listener. That's what I love about it. There are so many people doing what they want to do. Doing what they themselves pour their heart and soul into creating these works of art that so many love. Its such a personal yet public thing that EVERYONE enjoys. No matter the person, everyone has THEIR favorite
