Back to Back Dyno R35 GTR coils vs 370z Coils

I've seen both arguments about which coil is better, so I went ahead and did a back to back dyno comparison on my 600hp+ 2jz. I also meant to say that my coil dwell times are from Platinum Racing Products website.

I was gunna go Audi R8 conversion on my Nissan VQ40DE but after seeing the coil pack shoot out and your video I will now use the 370Z!

Thanks for this video. I just installed a $100 used set of VQ37 coilpacks on my 2JZ-GE (running good so far). I used Subaru BRZ/FRS boots, which match the height for the -GE's valley bracket. Then you just need to drill some holes in the bracket for M6 bolts and spacers to mount them properly.

They are internally the same coil.

Hi :) great info! Do you still run stock toyota 2jz ignition noise filter conected to new ignition loom? If not, do you have any problems: say radio noise or another? 🙃

if the spark is good enough (no misfires) no need to purchase expensive coils.

Do you have the 370z coils just sitting in there with no bracket?

Yes! With the height of them, the coil cover actually puts downward pressure on them.

I dont have mine mounted for 6k miles now without issue. The 370z ones are a little taller and the coil cover keeps pressure on them.

No one does. Just buy 370z coils on eBay for $100, buy shorter stocks, then use r35 mounting plates

@Colin Capelo I didn't, I'm using the full length 370Z ones. They're just sitting in the coil valley without mounts. I haven't had an issue.

@@colincapelo3210 I just did this swap and found BRZ/FRS boots to work. They are like $3 new. Perfect height for the 2JZ-GE valley cover bracket.

prob just cause they are new too and not broke in like the 370 :)
