Ok now I finished and just gotta come to say, GREAT JOB KID you kinda got everything before it happened and tou connected just everything you needed from ehat you caught... Can't believe you caught the Ghost in the niddle of Scarif battle. Im with you Chīrrut deserves to be honorary Jedi. Not gonna spoil anything but you kimda have forseen Andor in your reaction so 1 you won't be disappointed and 2 The way you love this characters now and the insanely Neurodivergent way you have to get involved in the lore has been a great ride on giving a second review to the full saga again just on time to Andor 2. Can't wait to see you react to Mandalorian as well ... When you finish Andor and Andor 2 give it a review to Rogue One and look for a certain astrodroid in white and orange just before R2 and 3P0 pop up... and if you pay attention to the speakers before Mothma and Organa talk about Obi and Leiah you will hear a familiar General from Rebels been called to present service ASAP... I really hope andor 2 to explain why Hera wasn't at the reunions when Jyn wasn't supported... She must have been on a core mission, probably with the Iron Squadron, Rex and Ketsu Onyo and most likely Omega. Oh, and if you have the heart rewatch the finale of Bad Batch 2, you may be able to point Krennic in the reunion Saw messes up as usual ending up on Tech's departure. Yes, Vader's servant at Mustafar is pretty much the same guy from Rebels who's in charge of the Jedi Temple and speaks with Sabine. Also on the comics that same guy has a slave and her wife rescues him using the 4th Sister armory as disguise. Meaning Lynn left her uniform and abandoned the inquisitorium after stabbing Barriss at the end of tales of empire. Rogue One is just TOP on my list of all Star Wars... And every new content I watch I find more and more and more and more implications that makes me enjoy it more everytime I rewatch it. A d gas been a delight watch it again here with you, cheers!
To clarify, Jedha and Scarif weren't destroyed because they used a single reactor ignition. The Death Star's laser has nine reactors that it uses to channel the kyber crystal's power. It's unknown how many reactors were used for Alderaan, but considering a single reactor blast destroyed half of a moon and scorched one side of a planet, I doubt they would have needed all nine.
I would suggest that when Tarkin says in Episode IV, "I think it's time we tested the full firepower of this battle station. Set your course for Alderaan" that they did, indeed, use all nine reactors.
Yes, the Ghost is in this movie. Chopper also made an extremely quick cameo on Yavin IV. And Hera was mentioned by name over intercom. Also, I think Hera, Zeb, and maybe Rex and Kallus would be the only people on the Ghost at this point as Jacen hasn't been born yet.
The Ghost is seen 35:16 (bottom of screen) within all the other rebellion ships as they arrive at Scarif. FYI Red Leader is unused footage from A New Hope.
7:25 regarding the design of the Death Star, the actual earliest design we see for it was in Episode 2 and at the very start of the Clone Wars. The plans were actually of Geonosian design and was given to Dooku by the leader of the Geonosians, Poggle the Lesser, when the final battle of the movie started and we see him hand off the plans to Palpatine at the very end of the movie. It also adds an extra twist to the knife that the Empire gave the Geonosians that they were the ones for not only being the first to build the core of the Death Star but the actual designers of it, to be the downfall and reason for genociding the entire species to keep it a secret.
This film does, indeed, take place after the liberation of Lothal. If you care to track them down, there are a number of moments that reference the Rebels show -- during the scene where Mon Mothma and Bail Organa are discussing sending for Obi-Wan, you can hear General Syndulla being paged out on the intercom. Chopper is seen outside the base as Jyn and company head for the the ship they're going to call Rogue One (or maybe it's in the outside-the-base-establishing shot as the Rebel pilots are making their way to their fighters right before R2 and 3PO's cameo -- I don't remember). Finally, in numerous scenes of the Rebels attacking the shield generator around Scarif, you can occasionally see the Ghost partaking in the dogfight.
Jedha was first mentioned by one of the prisoners on the freighter in Rebels season 4 episode 4. He said the giant crystal came from Jedha. Also Krennic appeared in the Bad Batch season 2 finale in the summit. He was also mentioned twice in Rebels season 4, once in episode 4 by the death trooper commander and again in episode 10 by Tarkin.
48:40 That's one of the things that stands out to me about Rogue One, ALL the main characters die! How many Star Wars stories, heck stories in general end with all the main characters die! And keep in mind, they didn't do this to destroy the Death Star, they did this for a chance to destroy the Death Star, they really had no idea this would work and yet through their sacrifice, they contributed to the Rebellion's victory over the Empire, that's beautiful! Even though we didn't have them for long in the grand scheme of things, I grew attached to so many of the characters from Jyn herself to the pilot.
During production of a new hope there were two squadrons of fighters that were here we sent to destroy the death star, red and blue. But the blue markings on the X wings did not bode well with the blue screen affects the time which is why R2-D2 appears in black-and-white in all of his space scenes. Something George never went back and fixed even though he had ample opportunity multiple times to do so. Anyway, having red and blue squadrons in this movie is kind of a cool throw back to the original script.
I saw this at the midnight release and then again a few days later with my Star Wars mad friend. I spent more of the film watching him just to see his reactions to the Easter eggs, and its still a core memory all these years later. This film is incredible. Michael Giacchino did the composition for it in 4 weeks, and the soundtrack is incredible. I sob every time I hear Your Father Would Be Proud. And I'm such a fan of the characters, the plot, the cast, the killing your darlings. *Chef's kiss* The whole thing is a masterpiece. And they've done so much to install this film with subsequent Star Wars media. Rebels had only just started when this released yet Chopper and the Ghost were there. This film is a love letter to fans all over
Vader being so close to getting the plans back ties in with him being so pissed at the beginning of Episode IV. Immediately strangling Antilles to death and yelling at Leia for playing dumb.
Last time Saw was shown in Rebels, he left for Jedha, having learned of the Empire's interest in the planet. In the several months since then, his mind has continued to fracture, and his body ravaged in extremist attacks on the Empire.
Lucas had a similar idea for a film, and he was happy when he saw Rogue One-let’s not pretend otherwise, this was a phenomenal tribute to A New Hope. I really like that you immediately noticed the hypocrisy of the Rebellion in how they treated Saw. The Rebellion doesn’t have clean hands, but they hide the truth. Meanwhile, Saw isn’t ashamed to say, “Yes, I’ll butcher every Imperial,” or even to show it publicly-that’s the real issue and the core of the hypocrisy. However, there’s another perspective, and it’s a more justified one. Gerrera fights for the sake of fighting. He sees killing every stormtrooper as something that must happen-there’s no real plan, just an endless desire for battle. The Rebellion, especially when it was still decentralized, did use such methods, but they did so to strengthen their position and prepare for something bigger. Does that justify alienating Saw? Maybe... What Saw saw in Jyn is pretty obvious-she was, in a way, his healing. She replaced the pain of losing his sister. Even in Rebels, we saw how he never truly coped with Steela’s death-when Ezra merely saw her hologram, Saw became extremely aggressive. Jyn was forced to have a surrogate family, and Saw needed that too. [*] Saw And we can sum him up with these words: Isn’t it ironic that, without him, the Rebellion might have struggled just to survive? As for Chirrut-he was absolutely Force-sensitive, and there’s no debate about that. The interesting thing is how he reached such an extraordinary level. We know he was part of the Guardians of the Whills, a group of warrior monks. But considering how long the Empire existed, could that have been his only source of knowledge? There’s a real possibility that he had access to something more. [*] Krennic It’s worth noting that he appeared in The Bad Batch, in a meeting with Tarkin, discussing Project Stardust. Additionally, in Rebels, he was Thrawn’s shadowy rival and his complete opposite. - Krennic sees what he creates as art, something beautiful that he is an artist -egoism, careerism, idealism. - Thrawn, on the other hand, believes that one must appreciate the mundane to understand the enemy. Destruction is a result, not an art form-professionalism, perfectionism, idealism. I bring this up because these two men represent two completely different sides of idealism, and I find that fascinating. - On one side, we have Krennic’s career-driven idealism, where megalomania isn’t seen as a flaw. - On the other, we have Thrawn’s professional idealism, where he recognizes catastrophic mistakes and does everything he can to prevent the Death Star from being built. And well, this movie only proves how right Thrawn was. A single suicide squad led to the Empire’s downfall. [*] Rogue One My Final Opinion: Rogue One is the only Disney Star Wars movie I can fully accept and love. For me, it’s a solid 8/10, maybe even higher. Every character is complex and evokes emotion- for me especially everything surrounding Jyn. I won’t go into too much detail since there’s still Andor to discuss, but I will say this-Gilroy is probably the best director in the franchise, because his work is on another level.
Did you notice Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba on Jedha? The guy who has the death sentence on 12 systems 😂 Somehow they made it out of there just before the explosion, and made their way to a certain cantina in Mos Eisley.
HE'S FINALLY WATCHED IT!!!!!!! Also as like an Easter egg from Rebels, Thrawn was competing with Crenick over whose project gets the funding, his defender ties or the Death Star. The irony, had they put more funding into the Tie deffender, they would've easily wiped out Luke and the other rebel pilots when they attacked the Death Star. In a way, if Kanan hadn't sacrificed himself to help blow up the fuel, the empire wouldv'e won.
I love the care the creators took in making everything flow into Episode IV. Watching the hallway scene then Vader coming onto Leia’s ship, it hits differently. It explains the terror in the Rebel’s eyes when they see him in IV.
One of the more awkward interviews before the movie came out was Baze's actor starting off a section with "I remember the scene where Chirrut dies in my arms and-" They had to mute his mic.
saw needed his breather here because of the gas on geonosis. The ghost and chopper can be seen, and hera is called for over the coms. Red five dies in the final battle, which Luke takes the call sign in a new hope. When Saw dies, in the book he pulls out his photo of steela. Project War Mantel was mentioned in bad batch. Director krennic is a scientist, not part of the military. He is also mentioned in rebels and seen in bad batch. In rebels, thrawn and him had to meet with the emporor for funding in season 4. Thats why hes gone at the end. Jedha was mentioned in rebels in season 4 when they found the scientists and the giant crystal
In the rebel attack to Scarif, the Red Five pilot died. The rebellion chose later a new red five pilot... Luke Skywalker as we witnesses in episode IV and the following. For me, this is one of the best Star Wars films ever. The whole film is incredible: complex characters, narration... and the last fifteen minutes a brutal rollercoaster. Darth Vader here show us how terrific, cruel and evil he could be.
THANK GOD you finally noticed the Ghost! I was so scared you would miss it every time! You should watch this again and look for more Rebels references in the background. I'm glad you recognised the Hammerhead Corvettes~
Darth Vader´s dark tower is in Mustafar. The same planet where Obi Wan defeated him leaving limbless and burned. Those angry memories helped him to become stronger.
It seems bad, but Andor had to shoot that other Rebel so he couldn't be captured and give up his info. Imagine if the Empire knew the Rebels heard about the Death Star, and the Rebels never got the plans.
This movie is actually referenced several times in the Bad Batch and Rebels. In TBB season 2, during the summit (meeting at Tarkin's base the episode before Tech dies), Krennic is one of the officers sat at the table. Also, in TBB finale when Tantiss is raided and Tarkin arrives in his ISD to investigate, he orders that all funding is pulled from Project Necromancer and sent to Project Stardust (which, as seen here, is the Death Star) In Rebels they mention Krennic a few times and I believe Stardust is mentioned again
The Imperial Prison transport Jyn was being held in was the same massive ground vehicle used by the Republic during the Clone Wars, mainly on Utapau and Kashyyyk.
At last!!!, this is in my top 3 of favourite SW Films, easily. The pacing can be a bit rushed, but it is a solid an consistent plot and the casting, music, effects and overall cinematography was brilliant and you can FEEL the passion behind it (unlike most other Disney SW projects), you can sense the love. Chirrut Imwe is more like a Force Adept, sensitive to the force, but not a Jedi. Let's say he's touched by the Force and guided by it, but not quite a Force User. Orson Krennic and Galen Erso were long time friends, since even before the War. Krennic was in the Advanced Weapon Research department of the Empire and was its director by the time of the film. During the waning years of the war, right after Poggle the Lesser was captured by Anakin, Obi and Luminara, he was forced to kickstart the Death Star Project by the Republic, by conscripting the Geonosians (its original designers) to build the Death Star, however problems arose when it came to the development of the Super Laser. They simply couldn't generate an energy output big enough for it to work... that's were Galen Erso came in, he's much like a Savant, and his area of expertise is Energy Research, and his wife Lyra was an expert explorer and geologist who specialized in Kyber Crystals, that's why Orson sought him put during the war. When Galen found out what he was creating he fled with his family for a few years until Krennic found him again and conscripted him (all this appears on the Novel "Rogue One: Catalyst", it is brilliant). Tarkin initially suggetted the creation of a weapon to keep people in fear of destruction to keep them in line, but he didn't come up with the idea of the Death Star, after 15 or so years of delays and issues with the DA Project, he started losing faith in it and instead backed Thrawn with his TIE Defender project for a little while, bit when Galen was recovered (and Thrawn vanquished), he again shifted his support towards the Death Star, which ultimately doomed him and the Empire as a whole. This film is brilliant and I'm glad you enjoyed it so. I can't wait for you to watch Andor, you'll love it!!!, it deals with the nuance and grey areas of morality within the rebellion in a perfectly written way.

It is basically a planet made entirely of carbon, with a gigantic diamond at its center. Our universe is too young to have created any such black dwarves, though the star wars universe might have some. 44:25 That is the Imperial II-class heavy cruiser Devastator, one of Darth Vader's three flagships. He's known for pulling stunts like this with his flagships. It's also the same Star Destroyer in the beginning of A New Hope, one reason he was so pissed off was because only about 10 minutes passed for him to go back to the Devastator and go to Tatooine to catch up with Leia. And then she tried to pull some "diplomatic mission" bullshit on him.
"Oh, it's beautiful." Such an amazing movie, with way more Easter eggs than I could've imagined when I first saw it. Almost forgot we were getting this today, so it was an awesome surprise to see on my feed!
Funfact in the novel Krennic watching the DS charging the Laser, his mind run through the blueprints and knew almost instantly what was necessary to fix the Failure
Chirrut (Blind guy) is not a Jedi or Force Sensitive. He does however know about the force. Think of how in the Original Trilogy Han said he had seen a lot but never believed in one thing connecting everything. Chirrut on the other hand respected the Jedi, knew the force was real, and was similar to Qui-Gon in the sense that he was loyal to the Force and let it guide his life. He went with the flow of the force.
Two of the projects mentioned in the data vault were expanded upon later. Blacksaber was a project to recover a protosaber (a kind of early lightsaber with an electrified physical blade) below Vader's castle on Mustafar that was seen in a VR experience at Disney Parks a few years back. The other was War-Mantle, the initiative to replace clones with normal recruits that we saw in the first season of the Bad Batch.
This movie... Has to be one of the ABSOLUTE best Star Wars movies ever made. It pays SOOO much respect to the original trilogy, every single moment feels earned and important, every scene drives the plot forwards! And the biggest thing in this entire movie, is that it tells the audience about the most central theme to all of Star Wars, more so than we have ever seen prior... Hope! The plans for the Death Star was not easy to having obtained. Hell, Galen Erso intentionally sabotaged the station, and the way he did so is brilliant. It's like he said: "I put a flaw in it's design so powerful and small they'll never find it." And he's right. The DESIGN FLAW that Galen Erso put in the Death Star is a tiny, tiny detail, but it's a fuse to a bomb! See, when the Death Star fires, it has to vent excess heat trough Thermal Exhaust Ports around the Northern pole. There is a primary exhaust port surrounded by 12 secondary ones. All of these goes directly down to the main reactor, and would have been a major weakness, HOWEVER, they are all ray-shielded. Which mitigates this weakness... All except for one. One of the 12 secondary exhaust ports does not have a ray-shield, and THAT is the fuse! If a single proton torpedo is dropped down into that exhaust port, it goes directly into the main reactor of the Death Star, causing a chain reaction that destroys the battle station in an instant. If Galen Erso hadn't created that weakness, the Death Star would quite literally have been indestructible. Rouge One showed us how powerful hope can be. Against the most powerful adversary, even the smallest spark is enough to light the fuse and topple giants. The reason I love Star Wars more than any other franchise is because of how central the theme of hope is. And how well it shows us that there will always be hope no matter how dark it seem. Hope is the most central theme in Star Wars, and Rogue One demonstrates why, to a bigger degree than any other Star Wars movie we have ever seen prior.
Brilliantly said. Even the smallest act of Insurrection pushes the Rebels lines forwards, one single and small thing broke the siege and the grip the Empire has on the Galaxy. One man risking everything to simply have one secondary thermal exhaust port not ray shielded. A relatively minor thing done by one broken man in the *hope* that one day the Empire and his weapon would be destroyed and that victory is a sunrise Galen never sees. Nor Jyn, nor Cassian. So many people sacrificed, so many people had the hope that their lives would be given to end a monumental threat for someone else's future if not their own. I love this film, it definitely rivals Empire Strikes Back for my favourite SW film and maybe even favourite film I general.
Comics set during the original films show that Tubes and the rest of Saw's group survived the blast to Jedha, and continued protecting the planet afterwards. Though Tubes was more jaded since his brother was killed by the rubble when escaping Saw's hideout. He later sought for assistance by Luke/Leia/Han when the Empire begin mining Jedha for crystals for the Second Death Star, as the mining device was in danger of destroying the planet. After saving Jedha, Tubes requested the trio fly him back to his original home planet. Tubes was among that group of Freedom Fighters at the end of the Solo movie, so Han used that reminder as a chance to talk to Tubes. Han pointed out that he's changed a lot since that day, stopped being selfish, there are many roads in life, Tubes doesn't have to spend the rest of his days being a radical extremist. As Han turned to depart with Luke and Leia, Tubes muttered that being able to change, is something he'll think about.
Saw was old, broken and not the same man he once was. Jyn made him see that his time was done. He wasn't what he started out to be anymore. His final act was simply to trust Jyn would carry on his mission and not end up like him.
I love this film, easily a contender for favourite Star Wars film. The grittier, militaristic vibe that shows how brutal a Rebellion of this scale would be, the battle in Jedha City so well planned with a great many deaths on all sides and the second a vehicle arrives, the flee. Vader's hallway scene is terrifying and is a fan favourite. So dark, brutal and one of the best depictions of Vader. Plus, since the door instantly opened when Vader needed to pass through.... he was holding that door closed with the Force whilst slaughtering helpless, terrified rebels. I love it. A kinda underrated part of this film is the soundtrack, so unique for Star Wars and yet it fits in perfectly with John Williams music. Plus of course, everyone died. The Pilot, Bodhi: Gone. Chirrut and Baze: Gone. Jyn and Cassian Gone. The fact that a relatively minor character in one film got a tv show was truly surprising and it was a phenomenal show but youre gonna have to wait to see that yourself after Mando S1 (and S2...?). He was my favourite character so i wasnt complaining. If you want to see Jyn's life during and after Saw, the book Rebel Rising has what you need and it makes Jyn's story even more sad. But im starting to ramble so ill just say, onward to the Mandalorian.
@valkeery1216 he's already reacted to the OT and he's gonna wait until Andor S2 is released/releasing to watch both Seasons of that together. Thus, starting next week (as he's watched some KOTOR/Force Unleashed Cutscenes for the next video on Thursday) is the Mandalorian.

The little girl she saved dying could have been part of Jyn's motivation and turn, but I believe it was also in part because of Saw, and mainly because of her father's message. Seeing Leia at the end in the theater, just days after Carrie Fisher's death, was so bittersweet. Can't wait for your Andor reaction, especially now. On to Mando! 💖
The person who did the cinematography for this movie also did the cinematography for the creator and Dune parts one and two, just wanted to put that out there Ben I love watching people react to the Vader scene, it’s literally my favourite thing to do when people react to this movie.
The original Rogue One script had the Vader scene on the planet and Andor and Ursa live. Then Tony Gilroy took over production and changed some things around. His brother, Henry, came in as well. Henry worked on Rebels and is the Gilroy who is into Star Wars.
I don't know if you noticed, but during the Battle of Scarif a X-Wing pilot with the designation "Red 5" died, leaving an open position which is of course filled by Luke Skywalker in the Battle of Yavin

When Mon Mothma asks Bail Organa about the hidden jedi, is referring to Obi Wan Kenobi. And when he said "I would trust her with my life" he is talking about Princess Leia, his adoptive daughter. He arranged all to bring the plans to Obi Wan through Leia.
but he was talking about a force using person so I think he was talking about Ahsoka tano, though on the movie new hope obi wan only shows up as a Jedi
@@valkeery1216 Pay closer attention to the dialogue in that scene. Organa: [...] We will need every advantage. Mothma: Your friend... the Jedi... Organa: He served me well during the Clone Wars. He has lived in hiding since the Emperor's purge. Yes, I will send for him. Mothma: You will need to send someone you can trust. Organa: I would trust her with my life. He's clearly talking about asking Obi-Wan to help, and that he'll send Leia -- someone he trusts with his life -- to get him.
Even though there are alot of Rebels easter eggs, I find the Bad Batch easter eggs to be very interesting too: - Director Krennic was present at the summit in the season 2 finale, with Tarkin inquiring about Project Stardust; - After Tantiss was destroyed, Tarkin sends their funds to Stardust as well; - In the imperial vault, it lists the projects "Warmantle" and "Mark Omega" amongst others.
Fun fact at 42:19 we see a TIE/SK Striker. The TIE/SK Striker makes the same engine noises as the TIE/D Defender Elite! Specifically the Elite variant of the Defender you see in Rebels S4 Episode 6/9 Not many people catch this. You can compare the sounds if you want its a interesting detail. Also the Death Star here is weaker because it has only used a Single Reactor Ignition. Its only when it appears at Alderaan that it uses a Full Reactor Ignition.
Anakin is 43 here :) not that old, but at this point he's deep in dark side and probably almost forgot who he was in past. Broken, bitter and ruthless.
Try playing the ending scene of this movie (starting with Vader's hallway scene) and then immediately watch the beginning of A New Hope, starting with Vader's Star Destroyer chasing Leia and Captain Antilles on the Tantive IV. It's amazing.
Did you forget that I told you about Saw requiring all these breathing apparatus because of his exposure to the cross of gas in exterminated the Geonoshians? We know that in the months between rebels and this movie saw has been in several independent campaigns against the Empire. Remember how I told you he used his adopted daughter to smuggle facet launchers in to a gala killing like 200 people just to kill one imperial? Yeah that happened before this movie.
Spectre cell played a big part in getting the plans. Aquiring those hammerheads. Do you think any footage of that made it to Lt. List in whatever imperial prison that he is rotting in?
There are a ton of references to Rebels in this, and Bad Batch has lots of references to this. Also Mothma is all for fighting here, but she can’t overrule the council, that would go against the whole point of the rebellion being an alliance to restore the republic
It's been a long time since you Reaction to a mover to make a background part of a New Hope I think making a whole story is incredible. They were brave heroes who sacrificed everything but no one in the galaxy will ever remember their name It's sad but also inspiring. galen erso is play by Mads Mikkelsen who is the brother of lars Mikkelsen who was Thrawn Rebels I kind of Wish they both Appears in the Star Wars project at some point, both of them Danish national treasure
The hallway scene with Vader is so scary first time but when you stop and think about it it makes me Laugh😂 since: In the hallway the rebels cant see him until he turns on his ligthsaber, but that should not be since his life-support buttons on his chest glow, UNLESS they Are off Meaning: Vader turned of his life support so the rebels would shit themselfs when they see his ligthsaber, he risked his breathing just to give them a scare, and Thats not all At the end of the scene he stares at the ship escaping and his cape is flikering in the wind, but they Are in space so that cant be, UNLESS: Vader uses the force to make his cape fliker as he stares in the distance The funnyest part is that its not really the most dramatic thing he has done, its pretty inn line with what he did in rebels when he stod on his Tie fightere to Scare Ezra. Ben, you'll never read the opening scroll in Episode 4 the same again after watching this movie. I'm not a fan of Disney Star Wars very much, but they got this movie right. You're moving at an excellent pace through the stories and I can still see the joy in your face. Hold on, a lot more fun ahead.

Awesome reaction! This movie is a fan favorite, and rightfully so, it's brilliant! How can one finish this movie and not be immediately compelled to watch A New Hope? It's all about Hope, and seeing Leia at the end made me so very happy, never mind the weirdness of the CGI. It's Leia! Losing the heroes, one by one, didn't seem possible, when I first watched it. No, said I, they're not killing everyone... But they did, and it made it so powerful! Jyn is one of the voices Ezra hears in The World Between Worlds.
ah yes Hope. to start with the lore implications what we know thanks to the rebels epilogue is that Hera was at scariff and rex was at endor. sabine doesn't mention any other members being at any of the other major battles just them and at those battles. so for all we know the rest of the ghost crew were just waiting back on lothal or at least swapped rotation while on it meaning while not the full crew was likely on ghost its possible some of them were. at the very least its likely sabine was on lothal all the way until ashoka came to her which would have been somewhere post endor at least 5 years later. Saws pretty much has been fighting the same person for about 23 years since he was technically fighting palpatine the whole time in the grand scheme of things from when he started back in the clone wars fighting against him when the separatist invaded his home world to the empire practically day one. somewhere since the last time we saw him in rebels and to here in rouge 1 he has basically become the rebel equivalent to vader with his lost limbs and needing a breathing machine to keep him alive. him stopping and letting the death start kill him was him likely admitting to himself that he's tired of the fighting and his hopping that Jyn will finish what he started and continue the fight and finish it. really considering Saw's group is basically one of the galaxy's last know legacy's of anakin until luke joins the fight. if one see the two rebellions Saw's and Monmotha's as padame and anakin's kids Padme's outlast his and boy if their isn't some poetry in that. one of the difference for how the rebellion uses their smugglers, assassins, and saboteurs is that those are often meant to be a secret and something they deny having. Saw on the other hand just makes it his calling card essentially and doesn't even try to hide it. plus Saw doesn't care much about civilian causalities at the very least the rebellion will try to avoid it if they can or minimize the loss. Saw pretty much wears the title of terrorist with pride as long as the empire fears him while ignoring that its not helping bring many to his side just extremists like him. the rebellion however is trying to bring more people to their side and by saying they aren't extremist they tend to get a wider net of recruits since not everyone who is against the empire wants everyone to be part of the collateral. its not that mon mothma didn't want to go she did its just that unless the council agrees it possible some might pull out and fracture the alliance if the ones who pull out end up turning thme over to the empire. when rouge 1 left it inspired admiral raish to join them with a fairly sizable fleet. in doing so they pretty much forced the hold outs to commit as some of the councils members groups that they brought with them were likely among the admirals fleet so any chance of them at least offering plausible deniability was dead in the water. the imperial senate is basically on its last breath here. until alderean is destroyed they exist. during when Jyn finds stardust and the plans for the death star we get some lore dropped such as the black saber which is most likely the Dark-Saber, War mantle is what we see in TBB season 1 with the phasing out of clones for volunteers in the empire that would eventually become stormtroopers. and couple others that we still don't know of yet. of course we get vader letting his anakin show a little with his dad joke's about krenic choking on his aspirations while choking him. sacriff was to most imperial solders somewhere between the most boring planet to be if you wanted action or the most relaxing post they could hope for along with the planet basically being a tropical planet. the cream stormtroopers are called shore troopers. and were often meant as coastal defense forces on planets smiler to scareif. during the rebel call in when tehy mention their call signs red, gold leader and all that red 5 is killed because that call sign becomes luke's when he does the trench run in ANH. chirruit the one who was the most Intune with the force in the group and blind wasn't a jedi but a force monk. in legends when jedi temple onc ortsant was attack there weren't just jedi who defended it there were normal gaurds with blasters who weren't force sensitive in the same way a jedi was but were allowed to help and guard the temple. while chirruit was more force sensitive then the guards he was more or less in the same position while not a jedi he was more jedi adjacent. similar to the night sisters and Sith in the clone wars. their really the same but there is some overlap. the hallway scenes has vader just use moves we've seen him use in the OG trilogy technically nothing new is done hear outside of him lifting a man and holding him after walking past him and even that could just described as him just taking what he did in ESB when he was throwing things at luke till he went through a window. something to remember is that even now unless you actually faced him and lived or are high in the empire all anyone rebels or empire have are rumors about him. some of which compare him to grevous from the clone wars to a new droid. again it rumors. the movie ends with leia's ship jumping into hyper space and it directly leads into ANH with them over tatooine. what this means is that Vader saw her ship jump away form a major battle chased it and was told by leia that "i don't know what you mean we're a diplomatic ship we were never at any battle" with such confidence and if that not something both her parents anakin and padme would do I don't know what is. getting to some of the Behind the scenes stuff here takrin OG actor has passed a long time a go so they used CGI to recreate him. they used CGI for Leia as well. it was released the same year her actress passed. however before she passed she was able to see it before it was released proper. apparently when she saw her camo she thought the CGi was so good she thought it was really her.

So the concept of The Whills and this is a deep cut. It goes all the way back to the writing on the first original draft of Star Wars. They have a deep mythological history, but this is the first and only time they are referenced to Disney Canon. In fact, one of the earliest working titles for the original film was. The Journals of the Whills chapter One: The Star Wars. This is the reference to the adventure cereals that are popular in the 40s and 50s. What the Whills really are as unknown however, they predict the Morris gods of actual physical gods in the Star Wars universe. Without getting too deep into it as far as my knowledge goes. They are recordkeepers kind of like the watchers in marvel. Now there are many proverbs, the Jedi used to describe the world of the Galaxy around them. Strongest stars have hearts of Khyber. This is a reference also to Lothal. You have to understand this movie came out before season 3. Back then minister Tua’s lying about the emperor’s secret plans for Lothal revolved around the mining of Khyber crystals. It had nothing to do with the war between worlds. This was confirmed in an episode of rebels recon a weekly series that releases after each episode. However, that was changed when season four came out. Did you ever wonder why Manning on the planet was forbidden by the Empire? Because the Empire didn’t want him to know that little head, naturally a growing Khyber crystals, which would explain why there was one inside the Jedi temple when Ezra got his first light saber. Jedah is one such a Planet that has naturally growing crystals. And yes, Jedah is featured heavily in last year’s Jedi survivor game.
Saw was barely able to fight anymore, he could lead others, but the damage to his body was just too great to be worth trying to run and maybe getting some friends' killed in the process, just so he could tell others how to fight. At this point in the timeline Saw has been fighting The Empire for something like 17 or 18 years, and the Separatists for another 3 years before that.
This movie is the first time we've seen the actual use of Protocol 13, on Jedha. But not on Scarif. Apparently there were also three stormtroopers who were left behind on Jedha in the novelization. They were looking for Rebel activity in the mountains and were too late to be evacuated. As such they were vaporized.Their commander's (who this section was through the point of view of) armor "protected her long enough to make her death painful." Really shows how much this would suck.
The original movie was written as a Fairytale dressed up as a Sci-Fi story, the next two were a bit less Fairytale but still was a bit of both. The prequel trilogy was really more Sci-Fi movies. This movie is almost more a war drama dressed up as a Sci-Fi, but really no Fairytale elements in it. At least, that's how I see them.
Now that Rebels is finished: you can read the entire first canon Thrawn Trilogy (Those novels actually show Thrawns brilliance even better than Rebels in my opinion) When it comes to the timeline, this is set before Rebels until the last meeting with Thrawn and the Emperor before Thrawn is defeated at Lothal.

She must have been on a core mission, probably with the Iron Squadron, Rex and Ketsu Onyo and most likely Omega.
Oh, and if you have the heart rewatch the finale of Bad Batch 2, you may be able to point Krennic in the reunion Saw messes up as usual ending up on Tech's departure. Yes, Vader's servant at Mustafar is pretty much the same guy from Rebels who's in charge of the Jedi Temple and speaks with Sabine. Also on the comics that same guy has a slave and her wife rescues him using the 4th Sister armory as disguise. Meaning Lynn left her uniform and abandoned the inquisitorium after stabbing Barriss at the end of tales of empire. Rogue One is just TOP on my list of all Star Wars... And every new content I watch I find more and more and more and more implications that makes me enjoy it more everytime I rewatch it. A d gas been a delight watch it again here with you, cheers!

To clarify, Jedha and Scarif weren't destroyed because they used a single reactor ignition. The Death Star's laser has nine reactors that it uses to channel the kyber crystal's power. It's unknown how many reactors were used for Alderaan, but considering a single reactor blast destroyed half of a moon and scorched one side of a planet, I doubt they would have needed all nine.
I would suggest that when Tarkin says in Episode IV, "I think it's time we tested the full firepower of this battle station. Set your course for Alderaan" that they did, indeed, use all nine reactors.

7:25 regarding the design of the Death Star, the actual earliest design we see for it was in Episode 2 and at the very start of the Clone Wars. The plans were actually of Geonosian design and was given to Dooku by the leader of the Geonosians, Poggle the Lesser, when the final battle of the movie started and we see him hand off the plans to Palpatine at the very end of the movie. It also adds an extra twist to the knife that the Empire gave the Geonosians that they were the ones for not only being the first to build the core of the Death Star but the actual designers of it, to be the downfall and reason for genociding the entire species to keep it a secret.

This film does, indeed, take place after the liberation of Lothal. If you care to track them down, there are a number of moments that reference the Rebels show -- during the scene where Mon Mothma and Bail Organa are discussing sending for Obi-Wan, you can hear General Syndulla being paged out on the intercom. Chopper is seen outside the base as Jyn and company head for the the ship they're going to call Rogue One (or maybe it's in the outside-the-base-establishing shot as the Rebel pilots are making their way to their fighters right before R2 and 3PO's cameo -- I don't remember). Finally, in numerous scenes of the Rebels attacking the shield generator around Scarif, you can occasionally see the Ghost partaking in the dogfight.
The Vader hallway scene is just peak cinema and shows you why he's the most feared person in the galaxy
Jedha was first mentioned by one of the prisoners on the freighter in Rebels season 4 episode 4. He said the giant crystal came from Jedha.
Also Krennic appeared in the Bad Batch season 2 finale in the summit. He was also mentioned twice in Rebels season 4, once in episode 4 by the death trooper commander and again in episode 10 by Tarkin.
48:40 That's one of the things that stands out to me about Rogue One, ALL the main characters die! How many Star Wars stories, heck stories in general end with all the main characters die! And keep in mind, they didn't do this to destroy the Death Star, they did this for a chance to destroy the Death Star, they really had no idea this would work and yet through their sacrifice, they contributed to the Rebellion's victory over the Empire, that's beautiful! Even though we didn't have them for long in the grand scheme of things, I grew attached to so many of the characters from Jyn herself to the pilot.

During production of a new hope there were two squadrons of fighters that were here we sent to destroy the death star, red and blue. But the blue markings on the X wings did not bode well with the blue screen affects the time which is why R2-D2 appears in black-and-white in all of his space scenes. Something George never went back and fixed even though he had ample opportunity multiple times to do so. Anyway, having red and blue squadrons in this movie is kind of a cool throw back to the original script.
I saw this at the midnight release and then again a few days later with my Star Wars mad friend. I spent more of the film watching him just to see his reactions to the Easter eggs, and its still a core memory all these years later.
This film is incredible. Michael Giacchino did the composition for it in 4 weeks, and the soundtrack is incredible. I sob every time I hear Your Father Would Be Proud. And I'm such a fan of the characters, the plot, the cast, the killing your darlings. *Chef's kiss* The whole thing is a masterpiece. And they've done so much to install this film with subsequent Star Wars media. Rebels had only just started when this released yet Chopper and the Ghost were there. This film is a love letter to fans all over
Vader being so close to getting the plans back ties in with him being so pissed at the beginning of Episode IV.

Last time Saw was shown in Rebels, he left for Jedha, having learned of the Empire's interest in the planet.
In the several months since then, his mind has continued to fracture, and his body ravaged in extremist attacks on the Empire.
Lucas had a similar idea for a film, and he was happy when he saw Rogue One-let’s not pretend otherwise, this was a phenomenal tribute to A New Hope.
I really like that you immediately noticed the hypocrisy of the Rebellion in how they treated Saw.
The Rebellion doesn’t have clean hands, but they hide the truth. Meanwhile, Saw isn’t ashamed to say, “Yes, I’ll butcher every Imperial,” or even to show it publicly-that’s the real issue and the core of the hypocrisy.
However, there’s another perspective, and it’s a more justified one.
Gerrera fights for the sake of fighting. He sees killing every stormtrooper as something that must happen-there’s no real plan, just an endless desire for battle.
The Rebellion, especially when it was still decentralized, did use such methods, but they did so to strengthen their position and prepare for something bigger.
Does that justify alienating Saw? Maybe...
What Saw saw in Jyn is pretty obvious-she was, in a way, his healing. She replaced the pain of losing his sister.
Even in Rebels, we saw how he never truly coped with Steela’s death-when Ezra merely saw her hologram, Saw became extremely aggressive.
Jyn was forced to have a surrogate family, and Saw needed that too.

And we can sum him up with these words: Isn’t it ironic that, without him, the Rebellion might have struggled just to survive?
As for Chirrut-he was absolutely Force-sensitive, and there’s no debate about that.
The interesting thing is how he reached such an extraordinary level. We know he was part of the Guardians of the Whills, a group of warrior monks.
But considering how long the Empire existed, could that have been his only source of knowledge? There’s a real possibility that he had access to something more.

It’s worth noting that he appeared in The Bad Batch, in a meeting with Tarkin, discussing Project Stardust.
Additionally, in Rebels, he was Thrawn’s shadowy rival and his complete opposite.
- Krennic sees what he creates as art, something beautiful that he is an artist -egoism, careerism, idealism.
- Thrawn, on the other hand, believes that one must appreciate the mundane to understand the enemy. Destruction is a result, not an art form-professionalism, perfectionism, idealism.
I bring this up because these two men represent two completely different sides of idealism, and I find that fascinating.
- On one side, we have Krennic’s career-driven idealism, where megalomania isn’t seen as a flaw.
- On the other, we have Thrawn’s professional idealism, where he recognizes catastrophic mistakes and does everything he can to prevent the Death Star from being built.
And well, this movie only proves how right Thrawn was.
A single suicide squad led to the Empire’s downfall.

My Final Opinion:
Rogue One is the only Disney Star Wars movie I can fully accept and love.
For me, it’s a solid 8/10, maybe even higher.
Every character is complex and evokes emotion- for me especially everything surrounding Jyn.
I won’t go into too much detail since there’s still Andor to discuss, but I will say this-Gilroy is probably the best director in the franchise, because his work is on another level.

Also as like an Easter egg from Rebels, Thrawn was competing with Crenick over whose project gets the funding, his defender ties or the Death Star. The irony, had they put more funding into the Tie deffender, they would've easily wiped out Luke and the other rebel pilots when they attacked the Death Star. In a way, if Kanan hadn't sacrificed himself to help blow up the fuel, the empire wouldv'e won.
I love the care the creators took in making everything flow into Episode IV. Watching the hallway scene then Vader coming onto Leia’s ship, it hits differently. It explains the terror in the Rebel’s eyes when they see him in IV.
Originally, that final shot of Saw would include him saying: "Steela, I'm coming..."

saw needed his breather here because of the gas on geonosis. The ghost and chopper can be seen, and hera is called for over the coms. Red five dies in the final battle, which Luke takes the call sign in a new hope. When Saw dies, in the book he pulls out his photo of steela. Project War Mantel was mentioned in bad batch. Director krennic is a scientist, not part of the military. He is also mentioned in rebels and seen in bad batch. In rebels, thrawn and him had to meet with the emporor for funding in season 4. Thats why hes gone at the end. Jedha was mentioned in rebels in season 4 when they found the scientists and the giant crystal
In the rebel attack to Scarif, the Red Five pilot died. The rebellion chose later a new red five pilot... Luke Skywalker as we witnesses in episode IV and the following.
For me, this is one of the best Star Wars films ever. The whole film is incredible: complex characters, narration... and the last fifteen minutes a brutal rollercoaster. Darth Vader here show us how terrific, cruel and evil he could be.

Finally! This is probably my favourite, or very very close to being my favourite star wars film.
At last!!!, this is in my top 3 of favourite SW Films, easily.
The pacing can be a bit rushed, but it is a solid an consistent plot and the casting, music, effects and overall cinematography was brilliant and you can FEEL the passion behind it (unlike most other Disney SW projects), you can sense the love.
Chirrut Imwe is more like a Force Adept, sensitive to the force, but not a Jedi. Let's say he's touched by the Force and guided by it, but not quite a Force User.
Orson Krennic and Galen Erso were long time friends, since even before the War. Krennic was in the Advanced Weapon Research department of the Empire and was its director by the time of the film.
During the waning years of the war, right after Poggle the Lesser was captured by Anakin, Obi and Luminara, he was forced to kickstart the Death Star Project by the Republic, by conscripting the Geonosians (its original designers) to build the Death Star, however problems arose when it came to the development of the Super Laser. They simply couldn't generate an energy output big enough for it to work... that's were Galen Erso came in, he's much like a Savant, and his area of expertise is Energy Research, and his wife Lyra was an expert explorer and geologist who specialized in Kyber Crystals, that's why Orson sought him put during the war. When Galen found out what he was creating he fled with his family for a few years until Krennic found him again and conscripted him (all this appears on the Novel "Rogue One: Catalyst", it is brilliant).
Tarkin initially suggetted the creation of a weapon to keep people in fear of destruction to keep them in line, but he didn't come up with the idea of the Death Star, after 15 or so years of delays and issues with the DA Project, he started losing faith in it and instead backed Thrawn with his TIE Defender project for a little while, bit when Galen was recovered (and Thrawn vanquished), he again shifted his support towards the Death Star, which ultimately doomed him and the Empire as a whole.
This film is brilliant and I'm glad you enjoyed it so. I can't wait for you to watch Andor, you'll love it!!!, it deals with the nuance and grey areas of morality within the rebellion in a perfectly written way.

Chirrut (Blind guy) is not a Jedi or Force Sensitive. He does however know about the force. Think of how in the Original Trilogy Han said he had seen a lot but never believed in one thing connecting everything. Chirrut on the other hand respected the Jedi, knew the force was real, and was similar to Qui-Gon in the sense that he was loyal to the Force and let it guide his life. He went with the flow of the force.
Two of the projects mentioned in the data vault were expanded upon later. Blacksaber was a project to recover a protosaber (a kind of early lightsaber with an electrified physical blade) below Vader's castle on Mustafar that was seen in a VR experience at Disney Parks a few years back. The other was War-Mantle, the initiative to replace clones with normal recruits that we saw in the first season of the Bad Batch.

This movie... Has to be one of the ABSOLUTE best Star Wars movies ever made. It pays SOOO much respect to the original trilogy, every single moment feels earned and important, every scene drives the plot forwards! And the biggest thing in this entire movie, is that it tells the audience about the most central theme to all of Star Wars, more so than we have ever seen prior... Hope!
The plans for the Death Star was not easy to having obtained. Hell, Galen Erso intentionally sabotaged the station, and the way he did so is brilliant. It's like he said: "I put a flaw in it's design so powerful and small they'll never find it." And he's right. The DESIGN FLAW that Galen Erso put in the Death Star is a tiny, tiny detail, but it's a fuse to a bomb!
See, when the Death Star fires, it has to vent excess heat trough Thermal Exhaust Ports around the Northern pole. There is a primary exhaust port surrounded by 12 secondary ones. All of these goes directly down to the main reactor, and would have been a major weakness, HOWEVER, they are all ray-shielded. Which mitigates this weakness... All except for one.
One of the 12 secondary exhaust ports does not have a ray-shield, and THAT is the fuse! If a single proton torpedo is dropped down into that exhaust port, it goes directly into the main reactor of the Death Star, causing a chain reaction that destroys the battle station in an instant. If Galen Erso hadn't created that weakness, the Death Star would quite literally have been indestructible.
Rouge One showed us how powerful hope can be. Against the most powerful adversary, even the smallest spark is enough to light the fuse and topple giants.
The reason I love Star Wars more than any other franchise is because of how central the theme of hope is. And how well it shows us that there will always be hope no matter how dark it seem.
Hope is the most central theme in Star Wars, and Rogue One demonstrates why, to a bigger degree than any other Star Wars movie we have ever seen prior.

Even the smallest act of Insurrection pushes the Rebels lines forwards, one single and small thing broke the siege and the grip the Empire has on the Galaxy.
One man risking everything to simply have one secondary thermal exhaust port not ray shielded. A relatively minor thing done by one broken man in the *hope* that one day the Empire and his weapon would be destroyed and that victory is a sunrise Galen never sees. Nor Jyn, nor Cassian. So many people sacrificed, so many people had the hope that their lives would be given to end a monumental threat for someone else's future if not their own.
I love this film, it definitely rivals Empire Strikes Back for my favourite SW film and maybe even favourite film I general.
Comics set during the original films show that Tubes and the rest of Saw's group survived the blast to Jedha, and continued protecting the planet afterwards. Though Tubes was more jaded since his brother was killed by the rubble when escaping Saw's hideout.
He later sought for assistance by Luke/Leia/Han when the Empire begin mining Jedha for crystals for the Second Death Star, as the mining device was in danger of destroying the planet. After saving Jedha, Tubes requested the trio fly him back to his original home planet.
Tubes was among that group of Freedom Fighters at the end of the Solo movie, so Han used that reminder as a chance to talk to Tubes. Han pointed out that he's changed a lot since that day, stopped being selfish, there are many roads in life, Tubes doesn't have to spend the rest of his days being a radical extremist. As Han turned to depart with Luke and Leia, Tubes muttered that being able to change, is something he'll think about.

Saw was old, broken and not the same man he once was. Jyn made him see that his time was done. He wasn't what he started out to be anymore. His final act was simply to trust Jyn would carry on his mission and not end up like him.

I love this film, easily a contender for favourite Star Wars film.
The grittier, militaristic vibe that shows how brutal a Rebellion of this scale would be, the battle in Jedha City so well planned with a great many deaths on all sides and the second a vehicle arrives, the flee.
Vader's hallway scene is terrifying and is a fan favourite. So dark, brutal and one of the best depictions of Vader. Plus, since the door instantly opened when Vader needed to pass through.... he was holding that door closed with the Force whilst slaughtering helpless, terrified rebels. I love it.
A kinda underrated part of this film is the soundtrack, so unique for Star Wars and yet it fits in perfectly with John Williams music.
Plus of course, everyone died. The Pilot, Bodhi: Gone. Chirrut and Baze: Gone. Jyn and Cassian Gone. The fact that a relatively minor character in one film got a tv show was truly surprising and it was a phenomenal show but youre gonna have to wait to see that yourself after Mando S1 (and S2...?). He was my favourite character so i wasnt complaining.
If you want to see Jyn's life during and after Saw, the book Rebel Rising has what you need and it makes Jyn's story even more sad.
But im starting to ramble so ill just say, onward to the Mandalorian.

The little girl she saved dying could have been part of Jyn's motivation and turn, but I believe it was also in part because of Saw, and mainly because of her father's message.
Seeing Leia at the end in the theater, just days after Carrie Fisher's death, was so bittersweet.

I love watching people react to the Vader scene, it’s literally my favourite thing to do when people react to this movie.
The original Rogue One script had the Vader scene on the planet and Andor and Ursa live. Then Tony Gilroy took over production and changed some things around. His brother, Henry, came in as well. Henry worked on Rebels and is the Gilroy who is into Star Wars.
I don't know if you noticed, but during the Battle of Scarif a X-Wing pilot with the designation "Red 5" died, leaving an open position which is of course filled by Luke Skywalker in the Battle of Yavin

When Mon Mothma asks Bail Organa about the hidden jedi, is referring to Obi Wan Kenobi. And when he said "I would trust her with my life" he is talking about Princess Leia, his adoptive daughter. He arranged all to bring the plans to Obi Wan through Leia.

Even though there are alot of Rebels easter eggs, I find the Bad Batch easter eggs to be very interesting too:
- Director Krennic was present at the summit in the season 2 finale, with Tarkin inquiring about Project Stardust;
- After Tantiss was destroyed, Tarkin sends their funds to Stardust as well;
- In the imperial vault, it lists the projects "Warmantle" and "Mark Omega" amongst others.
The difference between Saw's group and the Rebellion is that the morally gray stuff is rarer, while it's pretty much commonplace with Saw.
Fun fact at 42:19 we see a TIE/SK Striker. The TIE/SK Striker makes the same engine noises as the TIE/D Defender Elite! Specifically the Elite variant of the Defender you see in Rebels S4 Episode 6/9 Not many people catch this. You can compare the sounds if you want its a interesting detail.
Also the Death Star here is weaker because it has only used a Single Reactor Ignition. Its only when it appears at Alderaan that it uses a Full Reactor Ignition.
I think it was just down to budget as the original Defender used the TIE Interceptor sound from the Battlefront games

The Death Star superstructure was designed by the Geonosians, while the weaponry and super laser was designed by other top mechanics and engineers.

Did you forget that I told you about Saw requiring all these breathing apparatus because of his exposure to the cross of gas in exterminated the Geonoshians? We know that in the months between rebels and this movie saw has been in several independent campaigns against the Empire. Remember how I told you he used his adopted daughter to smuggle facet launchers in to a gala killing like 200 people just to kill one imperial? Yeah that happened before this movie.
Shows why vader is so pissed at the beginning of a new hope. Leia blatantly and boldly lies to his face about who she is and what they were doing.
Spectre cell played a big part in getting the plans. Aquiring those hammerheads. Do you think any footage of that made it to Lt. List in whatever imperial prison that he is rotting in?
There are a ton of references to Rebels in this, and Bad Batch has lots of references to this.
Also Mothma is all for fighting here, but she can’t overrule the council, that would go against the whole point of the rebellion being an alliance to restore the republic

It's been a long time since you Reaction to a mover to make a background part of a New Hope I think making a whole story is incredible. They were brave heroes who sacrificed everything but no one in the galaxy will ever remember their name It's sad but also inspiring. galen erso is play by Mads Mikkelsen who is the brother of lars Mikkelsen who was Thrawn Rebels I kind of Wish they both Appears in the Star Wars project at some point, both of them Danish national treasure

The hallway scene with Vader is so scary first time but when you stop and think about it it makes me Laugh😂 since:
In the hallway the rebels cant see him until he turns on his ligthsaber, but that should not be since his life-support buttons on his chest glow, UNLESS they Are off
Meaning: Vader turned of his life support so the rebels would shit themselfs when they see his ligthsaber, he risked his breathing just to give them a scare, and Thats not all
At the end of the scene he stares at the ship escaping and his cape is flikering in the wind, but they Are in space so that cant be, UNLESS: Vader uses the force to make his cape fliker as he stares in the distance
The funnyest part is that its not really the most dramatic thing he has done, its pretty inn line with what he did in rebels when he stod on his Tie fightere to Scare Ezra.
He is sutch a dramatic villan, and in some comics it goes on to become comical:

Ben, you'll never read the opening scroll in Episode 4 the same again after watching this movie. I'm not a fan of Disney Star Wars very much, but they got this movie right. You're moving at an excellent pace through the stories and I can still see the joy in your face. Hold on, a lot more fun ahead.

Yes… Mark Omega is a reference to Omega & Blacksaber IS the Dark saber…when I saw the movie & heard Operation:Blacksaber my reaction was oh shit Mandalore is in trouble…the Empire was planning to punish Mandalore before ANH.
Awesome reaction! This movie is a fan favorite, and rightfully so, it's brilliant! How can one finish this movie and not be immediately compelled to watch A New Hope? It's all about Hope, and seeing Leia at the end made me so very happy, never mind the weirdness of the CGI. It's Leia! Losing the heroes, one by one, didn't seem possible, when I first watched it. No, said I, they're not killing everyone... But they did, and it made it so powerful! Jyn is one of the voices Ezra hears in The World Between Worlds.
ah yes Hope. to start with the lore implications what we know thanks to the rebels epilogue is that Hera was at scariff and rex was at endor. sabine doesn't mention any other members being at any of the other major battles just them and at those battles. so for all we know the rest of the ghost crew were just waiting back on lothal or at least swapped rotation while on it meaning while not the full crew was likely on ghost its possible some of them were. at the very least its likely sabine was on lothal all the way until ashoka came to her which would have been somewhere post endor at least 5 years later.
Saws pretty much has been fighting the same person for about 23 years since he was technically fighting palpatine the whole time in the grand scheme of things from when he started back in the clone wars fighting against him when the separatist invaded his home world to the empire practically day one. somewhere since the last time we saw him in rebels and to here in rouge 1 he has basically become the rebel equivalent to vader with his lost limbs and needing a breathing machine to keep him alive. him stopping and letting the death start kill him was him likely admitting to himself that he's tired of the fighting and his hopping that Jyn will finish what he started and continue the fight and finish it. really considering Saw's group is basically one of the galaxy's last know legacy's of anakin until luke joins the fight. if one see the two rebellions Saw's and Monmotha's as padame and anakin's kids Padme's outlast his and boy if their isn't some poetry in that.
one of the difference for how the rebellion uses their smugglers, assassins, and saboteurs is that those are often meant to be a secret and something they deny having. Saw on the other hand just makes it his calling card essentially and doesn't even try to hide it. plus Saw doesn't care much about civilian causalities at the very least the rebellion will try to avoid it if they can or minimize the loss. Saw pretty much wears the title of terrorist with pride as long as the empire fears him while ignoring that its not helping bring many to his side just extremists like him. the rebellion however is trying to bring more people to their side and by saying they aren't extremist they tend to get a wider net of recruits since not everyone who is against the empire wants everyone to be part of the collateral.
its not that mon mothma didn't want to go she did its just that unless the council agrees it possible some might pull out and fracture the alliance if the ones who pull out end up turning thme over to the empire. when rouge 1 left it inspired admiral raish to join them with a fairly sizable fleet. in doing so they pretty much forced the hold outs to commit as some of the councils members groups that they brought with them were likely among the admirals fleet so any chance of them at least offering plausible deniability was dead in the water. the imperial senate is basically on its last breath here. until alderean is destroyed they exist.
during when Jyn finds stardust and the plans for the death star we get some lore dropped such as the black saber which is most likely the Dark-Saber, War mantle is what we see in TBB season 1 with the phasing out of clones for volunteers in the empire that would eventually become stormtroopers. and couple others that we still don't know of yet.
of course we get vader letting his anakin show a little with his dad joke's about krenic choking on his aspirations while choking him.
sacriff was to most imperial solders somewhere between the most boring planet to be if you wanted action or the most relaxing post they could hope for along with the planet basically being a tropical planet. the cream stormtroopers are called shore troopers. and were often meant as coastal defense forces on planets smiler to scareif. during the rebel call in when tehy mention their call signs red, gold leader and all that red 5 is killed because that call sign becomes luke's when he does the trench run in ANH.
chirruit the one who was the most Intune with the force in the group and blind wasn't a jedi but a force monk. in legends when jedi temple onc ortsant was attack there weren't just jedi who defended it there were normal gaurds with blasters who weren't force sensitive in the same way a jedi was but were allowed to help and guard the temple. while chirruit was more force sensitive then the guards he was more or less in the same position while not a jedi he was more jedi adjacent. similar to the night sisters and Sith in the clone wars. their really the same but there is some overlap.
the hallway scenes has vader just use moves we've seen him use in the OG trilogy technically nothing new is done hear outside of him lifting a man and holding him after walking past him and even that could just described as him just taking what he did in ESB when he was throwing things at luke till he went through a window. something to remember is that even now unless you actually faced him and lived or are high in the empire all anyone rebels or empire have are rumors about him. some of which compare him to grevous from the clone wars to a new droid. again it rumors.
the movie ends with leia's ship jumping into hyper space and it directly leads into ANH with them over tatooine. what this means is that Vader saw her ship jump away form a major battle chased it and was told by leia that "i don't know what you mean we're a diplomatic ship we were never at any battle" with such confidence and if that not something both her parents anakin and padme would do I don't know what is.
getting to some of the Behind the scenes stuff here takrin OG actor has passed a long time a go so they used CGI to recreate him. they used CGI for Leia as well. it was released the same year her actress passed. however before she passed she was able to see it before it was released proper. apparently when she saw her camo she thought the CGi was so good she thought it was really her.
dude, you need to see Andor. without a doubt it's the best live action Star Wars since Rogue one and, not only is it the best writing in Star Wars for a very long time, it's just bloody good writing in general. full disclosure, i've never watched any of the animated stuff but after watching your reaction and some other things i've watched recently, i'm probably gonna give it a go.

So the concept of The Whills and this is a deep cut. It goes all the way back to the writing on the first original draft of Star Wars. They have a deep mythological history, but this is the first and only time they are referenced to Disney Canon. In fact, one of the earliest working titles for the original film was.
The Journals of the Whills chapter One: The Star Wars. This is the reference to the adventure cereals that are popular in the 40s and 50s. What the Whills really are as unknown however, they predict the Morris gods of actual physical gods in the Star Wars universe. Without getting too deep into it as far as my knowledge goes. They are recordkeepers kind of like the watchers in marvel.
Now there are many proverbs, the Jedi used to describe the world of the Galaxy around them. Strongest stars have hearts of Khyber. This is a reference also to Lothal. You have to understand this movie came out before season 3. Back then minister Tua’s lying about the emperor’s secret plans for Lothal revolved around the mining of Khyber crystals. It had nothing to do with the war between worlds. This was confirmed in an episode of rebels recon a weekly series that releases after each episode. However, that was changed when season four came out. Did you ever wonder why Manning on the planet was forbidden by the Empire? Because the Empire didn’t want him to know that little head, naturally a growing Khyber crystals, which would explain why there was one inside the Jedi temple when Ezra got his first light saber.
Jedah is one such a Planet that has naturally growing crystals. And yes, Jedah is featured heavily in last year’s Jedi survivor game.
The actor who played Tarkin died. They used CGI to make him, same as young Leia at the end.

Saw was barely able to fight anymore, he could lead others, but the damage to his body was just too great to be worth trying to run and maybe getting some friends' killed in the process, just so he could tell others how to fight.
At this point in the timeline Saw has been fighting The Empire for something like 17 or 18 years, and the Separatists for another 3 years before that.
This movie is the first time we've seen the actual use of Protocol 13, on Jedha. But not on Scarif.
Apparently there were also three stormtroopers who were left behind on Jedha in the novelization. They were looking for Rebel activity in the mountains and were too late to be evacuated. As such they were vaporized.Their commander's (who this section was through the point of view of) armor "protected her long enough to make her death painful." Really shows how much this would suck.

The original movie was written as a Fairytale dressed up as a Sci-Fi story, the next two were a bit less Fairytale but still was a bit of both. The prequel trilogy was really more Sci-Fi movies. This movie is almost more a war drama dressed up as a Sci-Fi, but really no Fairytale elements in it. At least, that's how I see them.
