Stormtroopers are not kidnapped kids in the original conflict. With the original Galactic Empire. They are all conscripts or volunteers, majority volunteers. People truly believed in the, “Peace” the Empire provided after the devastation of the Clone Wars. They hated that the Rebellion was bringing war back to the galaxy so they joined willingly. It’s very interesting reading stories about Imperials who realized they were wrong and joined the Rebellion, as well as stories about some of the Empires most loyal.
I think they are confusing with the first order. They are the ones that kinnaped children to make them into soldiers while the rest were loyalist of the empire. It is explained in the dlc of star wars battlefront 2 2016
"People may have their issues with these movies" Rogue One seems to be the sole thing that came out of Disney (along with Andor as the spinoff), that most of the fandom can get behind. Even the people who don't like it, don't hate it the same way as the other projects I don't know that people were mad about the kyber crystals being what powers the Death Star. I have a distinct memory of a documentary with Lucas where he talked about that concept years before Disney ever bought Star Wars, that the Death Star lasers were powered by the same thing as a lightsaber but on a larger scale. And the reason I remember the year, is that I remember watching it in my childhood home which I moved out of in 2005 and haven't been back since. So I don't know if it was a retcon per se
They just probably assumed since it Disney star wars anything that is said they think the fans might've hated for "changing lore" when (it's funny) it's one of the few good Disney star wars projects loved by fans 😂
Between 3 and 4 would be quickly apparent and is fun to learn along the way, but the Bail Organa thing was essential to enjoying one of the subplots of the movie.
For the record, it has been established for a few decades that the Death Star's super laser was powered by Kayber Crystals. This was just the first time it was mentioned in a major project.
Did y’all notice the Black Stormtroopers (Death Troopers) noticed that the force was effecting the blind man. So one stops trying to aim for him and aims for the explosives next to him? The Director of this movie LOVED Star Wars and did so much homework.
@theirishviking9278 Go fuck yourself, Chirrut demonstrated his reaction speed throughout the entire movie. Either way, the Death Troopers weren't reacting to seeing the Force be used.
@@theirishviking9278 Chirrut isn't even force sensitive, he just has a more heighten awareness from being blind. He can't use the force or be trained to use it, but the force itself can act around others. Which is more likely what happened when he went for the panel.

Nerd fact: The "Camo" Imperial Troopers are called Shore Troopers and the ones wearing all black with green eyes are Death Troopers (Formal name being AWR Troppers, which stands for "Advanced Weapons Research", very elite class Trooper that guard high profile Imperials.) 💜
Death Troopers are part of Imperial Intelligence and do covert work for them. They can be assigned to protect high ranking Imperials, especially ones in charge of top secret projects, such as Director Krennic. Their main task was to be special assignment commandos.
Here is some stuff that I hope is helpful! Saw Gerrera was introduced as a younger man in The Clone Wars. He shows up in Star Wars Rebels, The Bad Batch and Andor as well. Cassian Andor is the character that the TV show "Andor" is based on and Andor is simply outstanding television. Here is the chronological order for you (Movies and TV series): The Acolyte Tales of the Jedi (Though some episodes are set throughout and just after the Prequel films) Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones The Clone Wars animated series (the final season does cross over Revenge of the Sith) Revenge of the Sith The Bad Batch (which picks up right where The Clone Wars series leaves off) Solo Tales of the Empire (This has events at many points over the timeline) Obi-Wan Kenobi Rebels Andor (Rebels and Andor are very close in the timeline) Rogue One A New Hope Empire Strikes Back Return of the Jedi The Mandalorian The Book of Boba Fett (Takes place after Season 2 of The Mandalorian) Ahsoka Resistance (Happens before and after The Force Awakens) The Force Awakens The Last Jedi Rise of Skywalker I hope I didn't forget anything! In the rebel attack to Scarif, the Red Five pilot died. The rebellion chose later a new red five pilot... Luke Skywalker as we witnesses in episode IV and the following. For me, this is one of the best Star Wars films ever. The whole film is incredible: complex characters, narration... and the last fifteen minutes a brutal rollercoaster. Darth Vader here show us how terrific, cruel and evil he could be.
Rogue Ends literally days or even hours before the OG film. And I absolutely love Leia playing dumb about the plans to Vaders face. That woman had balls of steel.
@MarcusFrederiksen Full elaboration: The door was opening, and Vader caught it after it opened just slightly. After he killed everyone, he let it go, and the door slid back, something it was trying to do but couldn't cause Vader was stopping it. And it was slightly open because they needed a way to get the plans through so A New Hope could happen. Don't think too much. Its plot convenience.
@technos_orphan_obliterator on top of that he was probably just having fun going on a massacre again since we see him using different death strategies, so he probably wasn't heavily focusing on the door
One thing I will say is amazing about this movie is how much the rebellion has to sacrifice to get those plans. Like, how many Star Wars stories (or just stories in general) have it so almost all the main characters die just for a chance at victory. And that's the other thing, none of the members of Rogue One knew for certain that these plans would allow them to defeat the Empire, but they took that risk anyway and that sacrifice helped the heroes in the OG trilogy win!
1:05:26 Actually, there's no line like that in A New Hope. You're thinking of a line in Return of the Jedi, where it is stated that "Many Bothans died to bring us this information."
Fun fact, that black sand and green hilltop landscape at the beginning is legit, they filmed it up in Iceland. It's all that volcanic material that gets eroded down to sand and gravel, it's a very cool place to go see in person!

@ lol I just realized I didn’t specify “more what?” I meant that I wanted more of Vader in his prime/pre-EP4, either a movie or TV serie. Only thing I would ask is to have someone who knows how to build a good script/story and work along Hayden on it (since he also really knows Anakin/Vader according to the behind the scenes while producing Ahsoka)
Fun fact about the Darth Vader scene. It was filmed after the movie was ‘completed’. It was kind of a last minute thought they had while they started editing and production has generally wrapped already. Most of those soldiers in that scene are actually tech guys (like mixing, editing, splicing) and it was filmed on a studio lot. I’m not saying the movie would be bad without it. But it was absolutely essential to the movie overall imo (in terms of feel/ impact) and I couldn’t imagine the movie without it
I have never heard anyone complain about Rogue One, it instantly mounted itself into legendary status. Amazing actors and visuals and the first good step away from the original story 29:10 this whole sequence is one of the best cg things I have ever seen
So, this movie isn't the one fans have a problem with, in fact it's generally considered one of the best of all of them. Talking top 3 status. It's the Sequel Trilogy that people have beef with.
I think another reason why Saw also stayed (other than probably being too physically incapable to escape) was that he recognized how far he had fallen. The Alliance at this point in time were losing so bad, they were desperate and ended up doing underhanded things - they weren't noble or idealistic, they did a lot of shady shit to keep themselves from being eliminated by the Empire. What Cassian did to his informant at the start - that wasn't something someone like Leia or Luke would ever tolerate. Saw himself had become a terrorist even to the Rebels, a rogue extremist who doesn't even hesitate to torture POWs like Bodhi - seeing Jyn and Galen's message probably made him realize that there was a better way, and that his ways were no longer the right method of fighting evil.
That's one of the things that always annoyed me about Lucas and the prequels: he's so petty he couldn't let the more interesting EU explanation of a secret Imperial Manhattan Project-style thinktank stand because he never thought of it himself, so he had the deadliest weapon of all time be the invention of a one-off antagonist group of space bugs. It makes no sense why or how the Genosians would even conceive of the Death Star, let alone how they would even go about building it without the resources of the galaxy-spanning infrastructure of the Republic.
Rogue one I'd argue is the best of the Disney made movies, it started a bit slow but man when the third act hits it hits like a Star destroyer Wombo Combo. That said the way you were talking about the logistics of the death star I think you guys would love Generation tech on RUclips and the Andor show especially.
There is indeed a show called Andor and not only is it an incredible Star Wars show, it's one of the best shows period in recent years. Legit incredibly good.
The vast majority of people like or love Rogue One, even among the Sequel haters and die hard anti-Disney crowd. The only people who I see hating on Rogue One are nitpicker extremists, people speaking in bad faith, or the rare person whose opinion is very subjective.
The general consensus is that Rogue One is peak Disney Star Wars. But like, actually good. Up there with The Mandolorian and Andor. Solo also, in and of itself, is actually a pretty good movie. It's just an unnecessary movie that was riding off the wave of the Episode 8 controversy. The stuff that is hated on is Episode 8 and 9, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and The Acolyte. There was also that one animated show Star Wars Resistance, but I've never seen it so I can't really give an opinion. Episode 7 was an overall decent movie. It's 8 and 9 that bring it down retroactively. The Ahsoka show is also not terrible, as far as ratings go. Solo, like I said, was a good movie, but it didn't do well in the box office because of the negative reception of Episode 8.
solo kinda had everything going against it, it came out after 8 which completely divided the fanbase but also most people just weren't interested in a solo origin movie or a solo movie without harrison ford. it also doesn't help that it's a very safe and paint by numbers movie. it's not bad, it's just kinda mediocre
@@666FallenShadow Also Solo came out one month AFTER Avengers: Infinity War which is why it's overshadowed by it (I did watch Solo and it was alright, not bad though even it wasn't great as Rogue One).
A Star Wars of a tragic flavour, we knew they all died getting the plans but to see it, you still hope someone will survive. It was almost drafted for Cassian and Jyn to survive but they decided against it - though I still wish they gave Chirrut a lightsaber... Perhaps the reason Donnie Yen has played two blind martial artists is because of the popularity of Zatoichi, the blind swordsman. Zatoichi was the inspiration for Fujitora in One Piece too Highly recommend watching Andor, it is excellent and focuses more on the people element of the rebellion and oppression of the Empire.
There’s a comic where a Sith made a sniper rifle that you can insert a light saber into, shooting the blade and using up the saber in a few shots, it was pretty baller
Oh hell yes excited for this one. Love to see Diego Luna on screen. Really excited for more star wars, eager to see if y'all will get to the "this isn't 'good for star wars' it's just fucking good' Andor show
Remember at this point in the timeline Vader's position has not been fully established in the empire which is why the director keeps pushing him, most people in the empire don't know what Vader really is yet
The Hallway Scene is a Great Contrast to Because Vader is Vader and Anakin is Anakin. Darth Vader took his time to kill the Rebels and is thrilled with ecstasy with every kill he makes and since they are afraid of him, when he realizes that he has been wasting time it is too late and the Rebels escape. Anakin would have entered there and recovered the Plans... He would not have wasted Time in Playing Almighty or intimidating his Enemies... Anakin would accomplish the Mission.
When Mon Mothma asks Bail Organa about the hidden jedi, is referring to Obi Wan Kenobi. And when he said "I would trust her with my life" he is talking about Princess Leia, his adoptive daughter. He arranged all to bring the plans to Obi Wan through Leia.
I get that being told to wait to finish Clone Wars is annoying but it and Rebels are absolutely vital for having context later on. On the bright side, now you can watch Andor!
The movie was made for fans with fan approving of it. It’s funny if Disney actually looked at lore with good story telling people would truly love Star Wars again.
You meet Saw Gurera in the clone Wars cgi series he and his sister were rebels that far back. He was young ripped fast and strong but now he was old in a life support suit. Saw was done.
I'm just screaming that they get in character wrong like super wrong big time and other still don't know the time line. There might be a time line poster y'all can get. The Hammerhead is a Old Republic ship that been used for thousands of years, still got the power!
I like how they’re going on about the “follow orders” argument saying “just don’t do it” acting like to a lot of people that’s an option when they and their families can be killed or worse. Not everyone is Superman ☠️
Right. Of course we’d all like to think we’d be the one to not follow the order, but imagine someone’s going to continuously rape your captive daughter and wife if you don’t, but if you comply you and your family are free and get to go home. Obviously they could just do it anyway, but what’s the alternative when you don’t have super strength or super intelligence to get out of it. It’s easy to say you’d be the superhero that just says no while you’re sittin’ cozy on your couch.
For me the best movie right after Revenge and Empire. Great actors, camera, visuals, soundtrack and the story is kinda frightening. Living in war like that. Making sacrifices to get what we are after - freedom... For me its the most Star WARS movie of all of them. Plus guys you need to watch Andor series directed by the same director. Stunning show.
As sad as the ending was you have to laugh even more at Leia’s audacity to lie straight to Vader’s face in a New Hope. Mfer just chased her straight from the scene of where it happened and she’s still like “Death Star plans? on MY ship ? 🤔” 😂😂

Y'all need to rewatch it after you finish Clone Wars and Rebels and look for some easter eggs plus you'll have a better understanding of some characters in this and what the Rebel Alliance has been through up to this point.
Saw giving up is exactly what it was, him choosing to stay behind and die on Jeddha is a perfect parallel to Vader choosing to stay behind on the Death Star. Once they learned that those they care about were safe, that was all they needed, their mission was complete, why carry on living with the suffering they bear.

Moreover, this film in general (and this scene in specific) does such an excellent job of driving this home in a way that no other Star Wars media - except perhaps Rebels - has done. Also, the US Government has answered the Death Star Question.
Besides the Vader hallway scene, my favorite scene in the whole movie is when the hammerhead corvette rams the disabled star destroyer. So epic. I especially feel like in those early days with the one off projects, there was a respect for the franchise that translated to a lot of time and effort being put into it. I think the sequel trilogy was doomed from the start since they didn't have a plan for it and passed it off from creator to creator with no coordination between them. erm, actually the Kyber Crystals weren't a thing before the Clone Wars 2008. There were other lightsaber crystal like the Krayt Dragon Pearl or the Dantaari one, so no, it was not in the Original Trilogy

Thankfully Rogue One is universally loved by the fandom on either side of the Disney hate and the Prequel issues. My dad loves to play hardass with the movies (only sees OT as Canon) but he does accept Rogue One as part of that. Still need to have the watch party that plays Rogue One and goes right into Episode 4. Would recommend Andor series too but youll get there when you do, The Clone Wars is huge and love how much you guys are enjoying it. May the Force be with Us.
Apparently Andor Season 2 is going to end right before Rogue One picks it up in the timeline
Fellas, as much shade as Disney gets for their Star Wars projects, this movie is THE standout that is pretty universally loved. When we saw it in theaters, we immediately hauled ass home to watch A New Hope. Since this movie released on home video, I have not watched one without the other. I've seen Rogue One well over 100 times already, and it is in my "top 3" Star Wars movies.
and still a lot of Star Wars hardcore fans hated on this movie at first, because the lack of "character" development and the weaker first half of the movie. For me.. this is one of the best star wars movie ever

The comics and bad batch clearly show that the storm troopers are constripted

"People may have their issues with these movies"
Rogue One seems to be the sole thing that came out of Disney (along with Andor as the spinoff), that most of the fandom can get behind. Even the people who don't like it, don't hate it the same way as the other projects
I don't know that people were mad about the kyber crystals being what powers the Death Star.
They just probably assumed since it Disney star wars anything that is said they think the fans might've hated for "changing lore" when (it's funny) it's one of the few good Disney star wars projects loved by fans 😂
just my 2cents here but i think i would prefer you telling them stuff like "oh its between 3 and 4" or "thats Bail Organa"
Agreed, it's not like either of those things are spoilers.
Truuue
I concur
Between 3 and 4 would be quickly apparent and is fun to learn along the way, but the Bail Organa thing was essential to enjoying one of the subplots of the movie.
To be fair, I don't think even he knew when it took place.
LOL no...using the Force would have shown Chirrut the explosives as well. The Death Troopers weren't responding to use of the Force. Huuuuge reach.
@@xDarthSTYXx just cause you have foresight doesn't mean you have the speed to react to it
@theirishviking9278 Go fuck yourself, Chirrut demonstrated his reaction speed throughout the entire movie.
@@alexworoniecki7231 oh i know Chirrut wasn't connected enough to the force to be a force sensitive (every living thing is technically connected to the force just a matter of to what degree and how much the individual leans into it)

One of my favorites , love how they realistic they portray the rebellion, not shining away that they also have done shady , brutal things really shows how the conflict has taken a toll on both sides
Another fun fact:the death troopers are genetically modified and mostly only speak with the 'muffled'(i suppose thats what it is similar to) comms.
Death Troopers are part of Imperial Intelligence and do covert work for them. They can be assigned to protect high ranking Imperials, especially ones in charge of top secret projects, such as Director Krennic. Their main task was to be special assignment commandos.
Now you guys can watch Andor, the best piece of Star Wars media in years. Btw K2SO supremacy

In the rebel attack to Scarif, the Red Five pilot died. The rebellion chose later a new red five pilot... Luke Skywalker as we witnesses in episode IV and the following.

I mean... Why wouldn't he have closed it all the way then?
@MarcusFrederiksen Full elaboration: The door was opening, and Vader caught it after it opened just slightly.
After he killed everyone, he let it go, and the door slid back, something it was trying to do but couldn't cause Vader was stopping it.
And it was slightly open because they needed a way to get the plans through so A New Hope could happen. Don't think too much. Its plot convenience.
@technos_orphan_obliterator on top of that he was probably just having fun going on a massacre again since we see him using different death strategies, so he probably wasn't heavily focusing on the door
@@technos_orphan_obliterator And don't forget, Vader hates the Death Star projects for wasting the resources.
@@MarcusFrederiksen I completely agree. 😂
Never under any circumstances...EVER...mess with a Skywalker in a hallway. ❤️ 🖤 💜

The deathstar using kyber krystals was always a thing. That wasnt retconned
Pretty sure the death star using kyber crystals was established in lore somewhere before this movie came out
This movie hits so hard, specially the ending scenes. Made me say “I want MORE” in my mind
I think there's a sequel, about destroying the Death Star. Not sure tho
Amazing actors and visuals and the first good step away from the original story

19:27 no that was a thing already... even before this rebels (tv show... this wasn't relevant to the plot) was talking about massive kyber shipments
Guys you've gotta finish clone wars, the other animated shows all revolve around it!
So, this movie isn't the one fans have a problem with, in fact it's generally considered one of the best of all of them. Talking top 3 status.
It's the Sequel Trilogy that people have beef with.
Please you need to react to Andor
YES PLEASE!!! Esp with season 2 coming out next year❤
28:56 He was also hooked up to a bunch of machinery that made it impossible for him to leave with them even if he had the will to try.
The Geonosians designed the Death Star. Dooku took the plans in Episode 2
The black beach at the start is a real place in Iceland :D
Rogue one I'd argue is the best of the Disney made movies, it started a bit slow but man when the third act hits it hits like a Star destroyer Wombo Combo.
That said the way you were talking about the logistics of the death star I think you guys would love Generation tech on RUclips and the Andor show especially.

This was the ONLY disney star wars I truly enjoyed.

If you guys want to see more epic scenes with Donnie Yen aka the blind Staff fighter; I recommend the IP Man movies and Hero with Jet Li
Leia at the end of this was played by Carrie Fisher's (Leia's actress) daughter then a little CGI on top.
Zatoichi was the inspiration for Fujitora in One Piece too
Highly recommend watching Andor, it is excellent and focuses more on the people element of the rebellion and oppression of the Empire.

This was the beacon of hope that I felt with the transition. I especially feel like in those early days with the one off projects, there was a respect for the franchise that translated to a lot of time and effort being put into it.
I think the sequel trilogy was doomed from the start since they didn't have a plan for it and passed it off from creator to creator with no coordination between them.
