Most Chinese martial arts has the word *quan* at the end to signify it is a fist or, more commonly now-a-days, a "boxing" system.
From a world perspective, this and other Chinese systems are just boxing/kickboxing with different methods of training (this would include emphasis on stance training like zhan zhuang to the way the practice forms to philosophical teaching)
And I know what you're thinking: why not just learn boxing?
Each method has something different to offer like their take on tactics or focus on internal dynamics (this is where arts like tai chi and baguazhang come in) or how to move in order to make efficient yet complex movements
In short, each kung fu style may look like kickboxing or boxing but they teach certain aspects that people found out worked for them and they passed it on to become their own version of fighting.

But I must add: it basically just is boxing when he puts boxing gloves on lol

Yes it is just boxing, or kickboxing if you include the kicking techniques. Goes to show just how much overlap there is in Choy Li Fut striking techniques and that of Kickboxing and boxing when the more fancy stuff is factored out. Goes to prove that Sanshou did in fact get its striking from Kung-Fu that does in fact work.

@@controversialopinions3659 With much respect to you and especially to BSCLF, but, I believe it is the other way around. Looking at UFC, MMA, Pride, One Competitions, as well as WuLin competitions, Sanda fighters also.....when it comes to striking, almost everyone has converted to western boxing for the attacks. I speak both as a former boxing practitioner, Korean Hapkido, and as a Chinese martial art one familiar with both southern and northern art forms. I have much respect for CLF and its effectiveness in fighting, but, when it comes to quick striking and irregular rhythm, western boxing is more direct; needs not a 1-2-3-4 rhythm in its strikes but a faster 1-2-3-4 direct striking in its combo striking. So, all of the movements (which are quite effective) that Sifuy DeNittis is doing on the bag are all boxing movements, though one would easily say that they are Chinese Sow Chui, Chop Chui, Ka Chui techniques. No, historically, those were long arm strikes so when you start doing short direct strikes, and you hold both of your hands up to protect your face, .....that is western boxing. let us just call it what it is without alleging that I am trying to insult CLF or criticize CLF. Believe me, I am not. What Sifu De Nittis is doing is very effective and works. And the way he performs his CLF is dynamic !!
