Tidal percussion
Differentiate Phrenic abcess from consolidation i .e differentiate pathology above or below the diaphragm
Both r dull on perssion
Keeping the finger at same place Ask patient to take Deep breath and percuss again:
Sub Phrenic abcess( diaphram go down): resonant
Condolidation: still dull on percussion.

Is it correct to percuss the patient during normal tidal respiration as the name suggest Tidal percussion..or ask the patient to take a deep breath and hold. Kindly clarify sir
