Just a quick tip: if you are really worried about dust, or are in such a dusty area that you feel it might be a serious issue, one way to minimize dust is to first run a hot shower with the door to the bathroom closed, until the room is rather steamy. Turn off the shower and then wait until the air clears of steam. Then use that room to disassemble the drive. The water particles in the steam from the shower accumulate around dust and hair particles floating in the air until they are too heavy to remain suspended, at which point they fall out of the air. While this will not get you a 100% clean room, it will greatly reduce dust in the air, and thus dust that can accumulate on your platter.
I was under the impression that opening up a HDD without a clean room was certain doom but I had nothing to lose so I gave it a try. I have a Samsung HDD that I use purely for music and storage. Unfortunately I had dropped it and caused the head to stick to the platter. This did the trick, thank you!
I put my music on a flash drive and have it hooked up to my router USB and stream all my music from the flash drive. If you play a lot of music don't put it on the hard drive, the hard drives seeks too many times for music. There are no moving Parts with a flash drive compared to a hard drive
Wow, what would I do without this video?! A huge thank you! Prevented me from spending a lot of money on a workshop-repair.. The heads were stuck just like in the video and now it works perfectly! Thanks!
I just want to say a big thank you! I was very skeptical about the fact that an hard disk open in a "normal" environment could continue to work properly. Hard disk repair experts are rather insistent in saying that if anyone opens an hard drive in a non-protected atmosphere, the damage would be irreparable. Instead I saw the video and decided to try. Within minutes I recovered 1TB of material from an hard drive that I thought was irreparable. 1TB of my wife's data, so yes, you saved my life :D no matter how important data really was!
Wife knocked a WD Passport disk to the floor mid backup after I'd archived a load of stuff to it. This has worked for me and allowed me to mount it again to get the data back. Life saver!! Thank you dude so much.
I used this method on an 1.5TB Seagate drive. that was beeping constantly and causing the computer to hang all the time. The primary hard drive in an SSD thank goodness. But all my music, games and movie were on the Seagate drive. I popped the top off and gently moved the heads back and forward a few times. and screwed it back together. Once I powered it up windows with the drive re-installed it was detecting errors on the hard drive it ran the repair utility. And was fine after that no more beeping and I could read for it. However I do not know if I have caused damaged I have not tried writing to the hard drive the damage could be in a unpopulated part of the drive. I only recommend this method if you have nothing to lose, if the hard drive is old or out of warranty otherwise send the thing back. To most people the data on the hard drive is worth more then the drive its self. You should get a new had drive as soon as possible and transfer all the data off it while it still works.
I dropped our external hard drive and was getting the click of death. This totally did the trick and allowed us to retrieve our data off the drive. Thank you!

Hi Abraham, i don't know what to say... Thank you man.. You just did it in the easy way.. I had a problem with my harddrive 1T Segate and all people here say that if you want to repair it you need to pay a lot of money and its not worth it.. Worked like a charm! Laptop was dropped so hard that the plastic housing was cracked in multiple spots. Wouldn't boot into OS, and wasn't being recognized by any computer when connected via USB. Opened her up, did exactly what this video showed, and it booted up right away when re-connected! Quick $80 repair. Thanks for the video!
I think he was using a figure of speech. Perhaps what he meant was anything of more than a casual value, e.g.: like if you're a freelance photographer, have your stuff on a disc that gets backed up but you're traveling, didn't yet back up, and the traveling HD crashes!! and now you're home and have lost the whole shoot, ouch. He says take that to the pros. Still: This whole opening thing has me baffled w/ so many saying it's overwhelmingly likely to ruin the platter w/ my info ; what's your take?
Howard Barnett Suppose a hooker named Sally that works the strip, she makes one million dollars a year. she keeps records of her clients on her mac which tracks each clients' dirty secrets. Suddenly her HDD died of AIDS along with her clients' secrets. Sally is in a million dollar business. She certainly affords data recovery and don't need to take risks losing the data.
@@howardarby I would first buy one that is similar or identical, set it up in the same scenario and then do a test run on recouping the lost "data" thats if the files are ir-replacable

Hey guys, I had a seagate external harddrive which made a similar sound when i connected it to the usb3 port and I tried different cable different computer, even i removed the hdd inside of it and used a sata to usb3 adapter still did that beeping and did not work. Then I decided to give this method a try and it really worked! thank you man you are a hero!
Thanks for the help! You saved my external HDD! I'd like to point out I had no Torx in the right size (I believe I needed a T8 or T6, but only had T10+), so I used a 1.8mm flat screwdriver (you can get those on the larger hardware stores, if you're stuck where electronic repair shops are closed or far away), in one of the little watchmaker screwdriver sets, I used a plier to hold it firmly enough and to be able to rotate it, because my hands and grip were not enough. If someone comes across a similar problem, this might help!
This worked for me too after I dropped my portable hard drive, it was making 3 soft clicking sounds. I opened it up, reset the heads and was able to recover most of the data and also reformat the drive. Amazingly, even though it fell from the desk to the floor, there was no visible damage to the platter like in your other video. Thanks!
Abraham you saved my tail. An editing client's hard drive failed with a week's worth of (expensive) footage on it. I saw your video, offered to fix it for them and they gave me the go ahead. Inside it looked exactly as you demonstrated. I moved the head back the start position and it worked flawlessly. Currently backing up the footage now. Makes me wonder how many of my other "dead" drives may be fixed using this method. Thanks!
Donnie Leapheart Hi Donnie, Can you tell me was your hard drive dead that you repaired? Mine is completely dead. No clicking noises or any noise. This is the report that a technician gave me after he "inspected" the drive. Report: We have finished examining all physical and logical components of your storage media. Based on your situation we have determined that your media has sustained physical damage. The main cause of damage is that the storage media does not spin up due to a malfunction in the engine. For the recovery process we need to replace the whole engine unit and read write unit. After the engine transplant we will need re install the read write unit and recalibrate the heads. When the storage media spins up we need to read out all data on a sector level and reconstruct the complete file system. Afterwards we will mount the data onto an offline server in order to check the integrity of your data(partitions, directories and the different file types). The repairs will need to take place in a clean room environment. Technicians Notes: Motor is wedged, heads not in parking position, no other visible damage inside, need to explant disks and possibly heads,
My hard drive would attempt to spin up...once I reset the heads, it spun without any problems. Your problem sounds much worse and expensive to repair, but sounds like the data should be intact and recoverable since the plates are intact
So today my external harddrive stopped functioning. Naturally I regularly backup my data so there was only data from a couple days on it. Still quite annoying to have lost that ofcourse. This trick worked like a charm. Thanks Abraham!
Thank you so so much for this video! I was literally about to cry because I thought I lost all my files ranging from 2007 until now...including the 14 videos I was working on. I fixed my hard drive in 20 minutes and all the files were still there 🙌
Thank you for posting this video. My son dropped my wd passport ultra 2tb hdd and it stopped working. I had my hubby buy the T6 torx screwdriver from home depot, unscrewed the hdd, and sure enough the head was stuck. I twisted the platter counter clock wise slowly while moving the arm slowly off the platter, put the hdd back together and it's working beautifully now.
I have watched quite a few recovery data videos. *Why is it that almost every single video is about a Seagate drive going bad?* I have had a Seagate 2.5 inch drive *go bad in 1 1/2 an year* and the *new one going bad in 2 years,* I will never buy a Seagate again.
Thank you, Seagate turned me down, disk laid in the storage for a full year , until i bumped into your video.... it was right on spot... now its working as new, cant thank you enough. :) GBU.
Dude! It worked! I followed your instructions (after buying a tiny driver set ) and the hard drive is back and running. I thought for sure it was D.O.A. Thank you very, very much for your video. Plus, without a place for the video (RUclips) I'd be screwed.
Thanks for that tutorial. I have vehicle diagnostic tool on a sata drive and it clicked at one point years ago. I had to take it to Best Buy for help. Well $100 later it worked. Then it sat in the box for 3 years and now I want to transfer the files to another computer but it clicks again. I followed your instructions and now it loads. Thanks for that, you helped me a lot.
Cheers mate. Remote 1TB hd not showing at all on laptop. A search led me here and it was the head stuck on the platter. Followed your instructions and all sorted. Been using the remote hd as a backup for my laptop, am now busy backing up the back up! Thanks for taking the time to post this tip. My the good Lord take liking to ya.
Just wanted to say thanks! This has fixed the hard drive issue. Now got to reboot windows as it's a Lenovo with Windows 8.1.... for anyone out there; don't get one. They're awful.
I understand exactly what you mean!.... I took less of a jump, as i was initially looking to repair a lightning connector cable. However, I already know how to complete the process demonstrated in this video... yet here i am... Even i cant explain why, or how, i got here. That's just the pure nature of RUclips. I call this phenomenon "Getting lost in YT". Big thanks to OP (Computer Services) for sharing the Vid, i appreciate those who assist others where they can, with no monetary incentive.
Thank you very much Abraham. IT WORKS !!! even if every body told me not to open the hard drive. I have just got back my data. FOR FREE !!!!! I had nothing to loose as I had no other way to get the data back.
Thank you so much Abraham ! I did exactly as was shown on your video and saved ALL (400+ Gb ) of my films, pictures and music.( It was a Buffalo mini-station with Samsung internals.) Not only that ,the faulty external hard drive is working again . (I'll make sure everything is backed up in two other places from now on.) I'm so grateful .
Toasted that's the problem, I don't know if my hardrive doesn't work because my laptop freezes on the Samsung logo screen with the f2 and f4 buttons which both are unresponsive.
I got the beeping noise and the hard drive fixed, without opening it, by hitting it hard against the table while it was beeping, getting it lose somehow. now i can get most of my data off.. very slowly..
I've broken 3 hard drives until now and my parents had to buy new one. If you are very angry while playing games (like me) so you also will experience breaking a hard drive.
@ Abraham Levit Thank you so much for the video. I had a problem with a 1 TB Seagate and dumped it after seeing the data recovery prices. I just saw your video and I followed your steps and it worked. My HDD now starts and shows in my computer but still there is a clicking sound. So I decided to get my data before it dies on me again, but every time I select a folder to copy, the process gets toward starting copying and then suddenly stops. Any idea of what can be done further to get the data?
Actually my hard disk still under warranty, but a lot of photos saved in my hard disk. So I decided try this solution, it's works!!! Thank you very much! :)
Thank you so much, I had a 1tb Intenso hard drive that died on me some time ago and a company I asked if they could extract things said, it would cost a fortune. I accidentally stumbled on your video and figure, since my hard drive is as good as dead, why not try it. I did recognize it now and I am extracting some images I had on it that I really wanted as that hard drive was a backup. Thank you so much!!!
Every comments i read are positive, seems to work fine for everybody! Cant wait to try it, you got me so hyped thinking my stuff isnt lost! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, so nice of you 😀
Just done mine, clicking like mad two drives in Raid "0" This was WD high speed VelociRaptor raid 0 set, so i opened both drives and found both heads in each drive about half way across, moved them back to the stops as i rotated the disk. put them back in to the PC booted it and both drives showed up as the raid 0 set, in disk manager both drives had yellow triangles and " at risk" labels, so i coped 103 GB onto a SSD and then in disk management carried out hard drive repair to one of the raid drives this makes windows repair both raid drives together, Faults where found but corrected by windows as in the file below. i am going to carry on running the raid 0 drives as all the data is now on an SSD anyway. My Seagate is making clicking noises after only 7 months. Buying a WD drive to test those out....Keeping the Seagate as backup though since it works just fine, I just can't handle the noise.
Shady i agree.... seagate is worst mine stopped working within 4 months and then they rplcd it aftr tht it again stopped working.... its soo irritating
Certain Seagate drives seem to be highly rated and built to last while other models are absolute junk. The drive in my XPS 400 (2005) served for 11 years before being replaced with an SSD. It still works and I use it as backup storage.
Thx Abraham. My Seagate was exactely in such conditions. Following your instruction I've been able to recover all my data, whitout wasting time and money .... If you already faced this issue several time, I wonder why the manufacturer does not improve his product !!! Thx.
+SHJ Gaming hey,i'm thinking about getting a new hdd ,need some help,i saw this comments now it change my mind on seagate .. which brand do you think is the best ?
I know this video is old, but every time I see a Hard drive with this problem it is a Seagate. I have some Seagate Hybrid Hard drives and I have some WD Velocity Raptor HDD's. I have had no trouble with the Raptor's, but one of my Seagate drives went bad and it was only 6 months old. I will never buy a Seagate drive again.
OMG Dude, my LaCie (owned by Seagate) USB C HDD just arrived 2 days ago and its already broken today. with the beeping/ clicking noise. i had to wait 4 weeks for this thing... ffs
I hate to think Seagate HDD's are all bad. I know that some have really good luck with them just not me. I have had good luck with Maxtor and WD hard drives. They will all fail eventually, but to fail out of the box doesn't give me much confidence in their product.
Thank you THANK YOU! You saved us $1,400 and a bunch of client wedding photos!! I would give you a big ol smooch if I saw you in person! THANK YOU AGAIN!
For anyone with a Macbook (Pro) with a Seagate (Momentus): there are 2 metallic labels underneath the regular white label that needed to be peeled off before a circular indentation becomes visible, through which that last screw can be reached Other than that, this worked perfectly on my 6 year old 500gb hd, thanks so much!
sigh my kids dropped my 2TB drive with over 1000 pirate bay movies. im gonna try this fix. if not its done anyways. maybe I can temp fix it to pull my stuff off
No it wasnt this problem. The armature or something is off by a few microns. Have to send it off to a data recovery centre. My kids tripped over the wire and it came crashing down
bjorn joseph Oh, I have a little brother, but he doesn't fall over it. He take it and bang it to the wall. But anyway, succes with repairing. Mu problem is that when my HDD has to think/read he is going to make an extremely noise, not enough to hear outside, but it's hard. U know what's wrong?
I just wanna thank you for your help. Watching your vid gave me an idea, I just hit the hdd (without opening it) where the magnet is, and it's back working as new. For now I will take this as a lesson and always backup my data
Thanks so much I recovered a LOT of data with this method just by opening quickly and getting the heads back in place. Thanks for making me look like a genius!
Thanks a lot man. I was going to give it to shopkeeper but you saved my time and money. I was not logged when I watched this video but since it worked so perfectly I really owed thanks to you. Thanks Abhram!

I am deeply thankfull to you man, I watched this tutorial and it helped rescue plenty of personal data from my broken hard drive. I had to go back looking for this video just to say Thanks man, you did a great job. Keep it up.
Very nice it worked for me!! Had a little trouble finding the hidden screw on my 2,5" HDD but yep it was stuck. Moved it back in parking mode and I am copying data from it to my external HDD at this very moment.

Thanks So Much I had A Segate Expansion External HDD It Making Same Beeping Noise Decided To Open The Case And Repair It My Self. I Opened the case. It Was Samsung ST1000LMO24 HDD INSIDE. Now I Followed Your Tutorial And It Works Fine Now. Thanks So Much, GOD Bless You.
I have a Seagate Backup Plus 1 TB (2.5) that was working perfectly until yesterday, just when the computer froze while I was about to transfer a file. I gave no importance and shut it off manually, however when the computer restarted it wasn't able to detect the drive. I unplugged it and when I plugged it again I noticed the drive was beeping (fast and short) for about 10 seconds and then the led just kept blinking, I couldn't hear the drive spinning or any other noise (no clicking). I plugged it and unplugged it several times, switched cables, switched ports, remove the usb interface and connected directly to SATA ports... The result was always the same: short and fast beeping followed by the blinking led and no signs of activity. Then I decided to follow this tutorial, it wasn't so hard to "peel" the drive enclosure to gain access to the drive, I removed all screws and THERE IT WAS! the head over the platter, I carefully moved the head as you indicated, rotating the disc counter-clockwise to reduce the stress of the head, pulling it from the outermost hole to prevent damaging it. When I finished I noticed a pair of insignificant dust particles over the platter but I decided to let them there, I assumed the centrifugal force was going to get rid of them and perhaps blowing them or trying to remove them will potentially inflict irreparable damage to the drive. After that, I connected the drive and BOOM! The drive got recognized immediatly and all my info was there, I even ran HD Tune and no sectors were shown damaged! Man I was scared to the death of losing all my information, you saved me. I encourage anyone who has this problem and has exhausted all other possibilities to give it a try, it's not hard at all, just be patient and do things very carefully.
Abraham you are the best, really really thank you for help not just me but a lot of poople. I have an hard drive that dropped and stoped working, I watched you video and fixed my HD, tank you again!
Awesome video Abraham! You helped me rescue a 1TB Samsung with the same problem.... thought it shit the bed altogether but saw it was getting power so I figured it was something mechanical inside! Thanks again!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You saved me a lot, my school files were in my hard drive… I thought it was dead for good, but then I found your video. Once again, thanks a lot!
I can't believe that worked. I wouldn't do it on anything I cared about or had a warranty. I'll admit, it is better than how I do it. usually involves a 12ga and any random target load "ringed" or "cut" lol.
I had the exact same problem. I think it was caused by a sudden power loss (it's a portable hdd), which cause the disks to stop spinning, and it stuck. Usually, the high speed should make a small air "cushion" between headers and the disks. I did my best not to contaminate the disk, and actually I'm surprised it still works.. Anyway, thank you very much, it worked like a charm.

@@undocumentedspot that’s true, but what if instead, Nets $31,000 after expenses, and uses for Mac not for storing secret but for all the wonderful memories love friends and family. And then, on her tight budget I’d say, but I don’t know about Las Vegas, you’re in poverty at $31,000 in my state, thus likely To pass by the needed back up for other essentials, What is she do than. And I’m kind of in “Sally”situation even though I make much more, Having both three kids an absent wife, and college savings to the formula makes me either busy, out of time or low on extra money. This video would’ve been a lifesaver but instead, we did lose all of my daughters precious memories, even though we had several back up HD’s Due to a mixup on backing up the various computers in the house
@@howardarby sorry about your daughter's pictures. right now cloud backup with a local copy is the way to go. I don't trust no hard drive. but holy shit you are responding to me after 6 years. I had to re-read my comment and laugh at the weird hypo. how much one can change. where have you been? (I just realized that Jimbe woke you up)
Hey guys, I had a seagate external harddrive which made a similar sound when i connected it to the usb3 port and I tried different cable different computer, even i removed the hdd inside of it and used a sata to usb3 adapter still did that beeping and did not work.
Thanks!
Just fixed my friends hard drive after watching this clip. U sir, are a legend! Thanks so much
Abraham you saved my tail. Thanks!
Donnie Leapheart Hi Donnie,
Can you tell me was your hard drive dead that you repaired? Mine is completely dead. No clicking noises or any noise.
This is the report that a technician gave me after he "inspected" the drive.
Report:
We have finished examining all physical and logical components of your storage media.
Technicians Notes:
Motor is wedged, heads not in parking position, no other visible damage inside, need to explant disks and possibly heads,
My hard drive would attempt to spin up...once I reset the heads, it spun without any problems. Your problem sounds much worse and expensive to repair, but sounds like the data should be intact and recoverable since the plates are intact
You help me to recover so many memories!

SEAGATE JUST SUCKS I am here because of two seagate drivers being broken
This was a great fix. Excellent video.
I followed your instructions exactly and it worked. Got my 4 yrs B.Tech life data back. Thank you Sir.
Never turn Your laptop!!!! Thats how this happened to me! But thanks a lot!!!! THIS WORKSSSSS!!!!!!
"ah, I think its baloney" I love this guy
Just wanted to say thanks! This has fixed the hard drive issue. Now got to reboot windows as it's a Lenovo with Windows 8.1.... for anyone out there; don't get one. They're awful.
I went from space documentaries to opening up broken hard drives

I got mine unstuck, now it's clicking and not reading !
I have same problem now. Did u find any solution
@@Calliber84 me too.
mine too.. Fucked up
Sounds like the head is damaged, you'll need a professional to do a head swap for you :(
Thank you so much Abraham !
1,726,244 people have broken hard drives xD
1726244 don't anymore!
+Maddr33 haha True , fixed mine using this trick
Toasted does this work for clicking hard drive??
OctaviasWolf i don't know, but if your hard drive still works i wouldn't recommend doing this, since it could break your working hard drive.
Toasted that's the problem, I don't know if my hardrive doesn't work because my laptop freezes on the Samsung logo screen with the f2 and f4 buttons which both are unresponsive.
Worked!! Saved my wife's business video backup drive and scored me major points at home lol thanks!
I can't beleive ... Yuo are life saver ... Thank you so much .
Have been trying on electronic stores but they cant fix it
Watching your video really help a;lot
so I would save money for other purposes
I got the beeping noise and the hard drive fixed, without opening it, by hitting it hard against the table while it was beeping, getting it lose somehow. now i can get most of my data off.. very slowly..
I just want to say you...THANKS A LOT!!! I thought I lost all my info but thanks to your tutorial now I am able to use them again
I've broken 3 hard drives until now and my parents had to buy new one. If you are very angry while playing games (like me) so you also will experience breaking a hard drive.
i experienced this 2 times i punched pc , and the clicking noise started and i was sooo scared
I already tried it. I just bought a new set of screws. Thaaaank you so much. More power to you and your youtube channel. It really help me a lot. 💕❤️
@ Abraham Levit
Thank you so much for the video.
The platter surface is damaged. Very difficult to get data from it. You need to go to a data recovery company.
+Fivos Sakellis thanks
What a legend! Worked first time, to remedy the exact same problem. Keep up the good work mate!
DUDE, you are awesome this video saved my life! Thank you!
Actually my hard disk still under warranty, but a lot of photos saved in my hard disk. So I decided try this solution, it's works!!! Thank you very much! :)
nice, im not the only one who has the task bar up :D
mtkl23 what a thrill
Thank you so much, I had a 1tb Intenso hard drive that died on me some time ago and a company I asked if they could extract things said, it would cost a fortune. I accidentally stumbled on your video and figure, since my hard drive is as good as dead, why not try it. I did recognize it now and I am extracting some images I had on it that I really wanted as that hard drive was a backup. Thank you so much!!!

Fabian B sorry, I guess I have an inaccurate bit set. My bit said T5 on the side so I went ahead and assumed the number was correct...
@@orbitwar It's a pentalobe key. Did you find out what screw driver is?
Every comments i read are positive, seems to work fine for everybody! Cant wait to try it, you got me so hyped thinking my stuff isnt lost! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, so nice of you 😀
When I boot my Laptop, HDD starts making clicking sound and Windows fail to load , after 10 - 15 tries it starts correctly.
My television glitchs like S7 Edge but no problem after 6 hours,
Just done mine, clicking like mad two drives in Raid "0"
This was WD high speed VelociRaptor raid 0 set, so i opened both drives and found both heads in each drive about half way across, moved them back to the stops as i rotated the disk. put them back in to the PC booted it and both drives showed up as the raid 0 set, in disk manager both drives had yellow triangles and " at risk" labels, so i coped 103 GB onto a SSD and then in disk management carried out hard drive repair to one of the raid drives this makes windows repair both raid drives together, Faults where found but corrected by windows as in the file below. i am going to carry on running the raid 0 drives as all the data is now on an SSD anyway. Thanks for the Tip on repairing the drives.

wow seagate must be shitty i suspect mines is broken
they are crap 4 Seagate drives vi have failed within 6 months Hitachi and western digital drives I have are still going 1 year later
My Seagate is making clicking noises after only 7 months. Buying a WD drive to test those out....Keeping the Seagate as backup though since it works just fine, I just can't handle the noise.
visdom0
if its clicking then i would not back up on that drive it sounds like its pretty much about to fail
Shady i agree.... seagate is worst
mine stopped working within 4 months and then they rplcd it aftr tht it again stopped working.... its soo irritating
Thx.
Didn't work... heads weren't stuck on disk...
Opened mine and it wasn't the issue. Worth a shot. Thanks for the video
Seagate drives always have this fucking problem
+SHJ Gaming hey,i'm thinking about getting a new hdd ,need some help,i saw this comments now it change my mind on seagate .. which brand do you think is the best ?
+Norman G Seagate has thee worst hdds
smokey deazy I recommend Western Digital.
Exactly
thanks guys , my current HDD is WD 1TB .. :)
I want to say a big big thank you for helping me fixed my hard disk. Really appreciated you made this video. It's AWESOME.
thank's you!!!! I can Fixed my seagate of 1TB!!!
It worked. Amazing. And to think a disk recovery company would still whip you for 1000$ for the simple trick. Its risky but worth it sometimes.
Mine did'nt work men. Wd 1TB
Anything i missed out
For anyone with a Macbook (Pro) with a Seagate (Momentus): there are 2 metallic labels underneath the regular white label that needed to be peeled off before a circular indentation becomes visible, through which that last screw can be reached
Other than that, this worked perfectly on my 6 year old 500gb hd, thanks so much!
sigh my kids dropped my 2TB drive with over 1000 pirate bay movies. im gonna try this fix. if not its done anyways. maybe I can temp fix it to pull my stuff off
Did it work?
Why the hell should you kid run with a HDD?
No it wasnt this problem. The armature or something is off by a few microns. Have to send it off to a data recovery centre.
My kids tripped over the wire and it came crashing down
bjorn joseph Oh, I have a little brother, but he doesn't fall over it. He take it and bang it to the wall. But anyway, succes with repairing.
Mu problem is that when my HDD has to think/read he is going to make an extremely noise, not enough to hear outside, but it's hard. U know what's wrong?
MrGamingEnzo no idea. Clicks when powered up. Computer doest detect it. So off to data recovery
I just wanna thank you for your help. Watching your vid gave me an idea, I just hit the hdd (without opening it) where the magnet is, and it's back working as new. For now I will take this as a lesson and always backup my data
what if i took the whole thing apart, bent the heads a bit, put it back together and then it started to make this beeping noise?-.-
Thanks so much I recovered a LOT of data with this method just by opening quickly and getting the heads back in place. Thanks for making me look like a genius!
Seher gut danke schön
I followed the instructions and now It now works perfectly, many thanks.

Thank you so much.. your video was very helpful and I appreciate you sharing it with us.
Moved it back in parking mode and I am copying data from it to my external HDD at this very moment.
u saved my hard drive , a huge thank u 400films saved 8 years of saving this datas , and i dropped 2 hours ago and i thought thats it i dead. but i see your video and i tried that . and it worked .
Did any dust get in the hard drive?
HUGE Thank you. Just saved us a few years' worth of files that would have otherwise been lost.
It saved my memories as well and not only. I will copy files and buy new SSD for my laptop. Huge thanks. It helped me a lot
Abraham you are the best, really really thank you for help not just me but a lot of poople. I have an hard drive that dropped and stoped working, I watched you video and fixed my HD, tank you again!
After 3 years my hdd works again, you rocks dude!
Thanks alot. Your video was helpful 8 years after you posted it.
I'll admit, it is better than how I do it. usually involves a 12ga and any random target load "ringed" or "cut" lol.
pal, you just save me lot money and time. thank you very much. just for the record i just fixed my seagate 1T portable hard drive.
Good video on dealing with stuck heads that prevent the hdd plates from spinning up.
This really helped me out, thanks! Head was stuck after dropping the drive on a tiled floor, doing what you showed got it going again!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU JUST SAVED ME 920GB OF THINGS IVE COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS OF BEING ON MY COMPUTER :'DDDD
Backup your data.
Thank you for your video, it’s 100% success. I bought a miniature screwdriver kit and a chance, because one screw was smaller than Torx
