nancy games But the council tax goes up for all residents of Cardiff suburbs too - 99% of whom have probably never attended a game. I think that part of the cost of the tickets for these games should go to the council for cleaning and the NHS for treating injuries sustained whilst celebrating - or like the poor cyclist, as a result of the mess. The chippies in Caroline Street (chip alley) also need to start using cardboard trays as all that polystyrene will take hundreds if not thousands of years to rot down in landfill.
In Germany, we have something we call Pfand on bottles and cans. You pay a certain amount, like 6 to 30 cents, but you get them back when you return the empty can/bottle. This way, most people bring these things back to the shops. Moreover, some people even make a living on collecting cans and bottles from the streets and the public dustbins.

xMissMilkyWayx used the wrong word! Thanks for the heads up. It’s been awhile since I was there and I’m Canadian, so I saw rugby in my head and football came out.
Rugby Saturdays were always great when Wales played at home in Cardiff! The camaraderie between fans was electric! I used to work in Halfords on the Hayes (which is where John Lewis is now) and the fans would come in to buy air horns etc - the banter was fab! Good old Tony's on Chip Alley, night on the grog, then chicken curry and chips! Lovely, although oddly, I always found a bin and stuck my stuff in there, funny that...
Also people who are like "laziness just chuck it in the bin" - you've never been down Queen Street on Six Nations weekend then, let alone most holiday season Saturdays. I tend to always eat on the way home or when I get home and obviously once I'm out of the city center I can find a bin that isnt already stacked up and surrounded, or I'm close enough to home to just chuck it in my bin; but yeah you'll never find a bin with space in it.
Just found this video now.. is there a recycle deposit program for cans and bottles there? and it looks like the problem is the food packaging mostly. would be curious to know if they have changed there packaging since this video or even if there is a compost food program?
