The mini 3 pro is amazing. I bought mine in January with the Fly more Plus Batteries which is rated up to 47 minutes of Flying. Although they do put the drone over the 250g mark I plan to use the drone for freelancing. And in the USA if you use your drone for profit or non-profit organization you need to pass what is called a Part 107 exam. And drones used in the commercial space needs to be registered regardless of the weight. Good thing I was able to pass with a 97 yesterday and now I have to wait for my certificate. I'm not sure where you are from. Just subscribed btw. And be careful of some birds as they may attack the mini 3 pro as they think it's another bird. Especially during nesting season.
Hey just want to help you out since your kinda new to drones, it’s not good to store your batteries in the charging port bc it will drain the batteries faster. Enjoy your drone.
Are the Flymore batteries 47 minutes each or 47 minutes total on 3 batteries? Old videos seem to suggest that a 43 minutes individual battery life is outstanding
@@alexandraelfer1403 dji rates them at 47 minutes on the DJI mini 3 pro and 51 minutes on the DJI Mini 3 (non-pro). These batteries will put your drone over 250g though but it’s well worth it. Remember this is DJI’s rating and not what you can expect to get most of the time. I find with the 34 minute batteries you can expect 26-28 minutes of flying and the 47 minute batteries more like 34-38 minutes of flight.
I got mine 2 days ago. Due to weather, set it all up yesterday indoors. Viewed a video on how to fly indoors. Did my first flight in the room. Set the avoidance to hover. You then dont crash. Your right about registration. I used my laptop to put in serial numbers and register care refresh. Also updated firmware. Checked all 3 batteries for updates. Tip. Remove the control sticks. Saw a video online that mentions over time the pressure causes a problem. I ordered accessories at same time of purchase, extreme sdcards, screen protector, spare sticks, filters, cpl filter, anker 30w charger , prop guard.
Just remember to fly it in an open space and practice landing and take off… I spent about 2 hours just doing this as when your out around trees and other obstacles the avoidance doesn’t always detect everything, especially small wires and branches… I know you probably know this already but I wanted to share my thoughts. I fly mine within my home city in the UK so I wanted to get to know my first ever drones handling and control.
Just remember to practice take off and landing and remember obstacle avoidance won’t always detect everything. Wires, small branches and leafs will knock your drone off balance or make it fall out the air. So I would always recommend knowing the area and always flying above the height of the tallest objects. For me I fly in the City of Bath UK, the tallest building is 120ft so I fly above this height in most cases. The mini 3 pro was my first drone. Also remember being nervous when flying is natural and that feeling will stop you taking risks that could lead you to crash the drone or even worse injure someone. Also practice landing in your hand, as sometimes landing on the ground isn’t always feasible. I know some of this is obvious but it is worth stressing.
Good tips all round! Thank you. Buzzed my fingers a little not being careful enough doing a hand landing the other day, you only make that mistake once haha!
I believe that in the US drones are not allowed to fly above 120m even though this model can fly much higher than that. Not sure what the UK height limit is.
@@alexandraelfer1403 its the same height restriction I believe 120m is 400ft. I know drone pilots that do often fly higher than this tho. Personally I never do.
I have the dji mini 2 and have enjoyed it since starting to fly 2 months ago- the key to success is to always do a preflight check and know your surroundings well especially power lines which are not detected by avoidance sensors and do not fly drone indoors as gps signals can be lost causing the drone to move suddenly without your input - always think about the hazards first before you fly - have a great adventure with your drone - I’m in Southern California where the skies are always clear most of the time but many aircraft and drones up in the sky make for hazards to avoid.
Taking the sticks off keeps the control knobs being pushed out of center eventually leading to control drift. It wears them out and you have to recalibrate sooner or later. 🤷🏻♂️
Nice job on this one. Good introductory stuff on the DJI Mini 3 Pro. I will say that the only time I ever crashed a drone (with an older Mavic Pro), it was while flying in sport mode, I could not stop it in time. With these marvelous new little cinematic capable drones, getting the shot is where it is at. There are other styles and types of drones that are better for ripping around and going fast. The pro's that I have heard comment on Sport mode with the Mini 3 Pro, it is pretty much a process of getting on site and into position that they will use Sport mode and also getting it back to the home point when they are done and ready to pack it and move on. There are isolated situations dealing with high winds or low battery that they will also jack it into Sport mode to overcome the problem.
Thanks for this, hadn’t considered using sport mode as a wind combatant before! I agree with what you’ve covered here: get the shot with the Mini 3 Pro (and then convince myself to buy an DJI Avata for the fun stuff😂)
Hi Malcom. Lou from the PNW. My Mini Pro 3 is my first and it doesn't have many hours on it. I have trouble thinking backwards while flying home. It's my mild case of dyslexia acting up. I also live in a hilly forested area where it is hard to maintain line of sight. That's a bit intimidating. Thanks for the chilly videos. Your easy-going manner and videos help me a bit more confident.
Hey Lou! Thanks for the comment. I do know what you mean! The map in the bottom left corner has helped me more than once to make sure I stay on track when returning home on a long distance flight! If you haven’t explored the different map view settings I’d recommend getting familiar with them so that you can change them in a pinch if you find your self with a low battery warning on your mini 3 pro! Thanks for the kind words Lou!
Watching from N.S. Thanks for the tips. I am waiting for my mini 3 pro to arrive. My question is when you are flying your drone away from you left is left and right is right. When you turn your drone around to fly it back to you are the controls the same in real time . Left is left or is it reverse. I think i explained it right. Thanks have a nice day.
Nice, thanks for watching! I'm heading to N.S for a visit in a month or two. The controls will always be left or right based on the orientation of the your monitor/display. So what the camera sees as left will always be what the controller says is left, and vice versa! Does that make sense? It'll feel intuitive quickly, don't worry!
Very helpful video including tips on whether to get separate controller rather than using own phone and to take all 3 charged batteries with you. Seems to be more objective than others and points out the drawbacks and potential difficulties. Many other videos about this model seem to be sponsored by the manufacturer because they are completely uncritical and insist that it's the only drone to buy with no close rivals. I don't think that he suggests possible alternatives but it is after all a video about this model. He also advises on compatible SD cards which are not included and recommends having 2, 128 storage. Everyone agrees that sports mode is risky because it turns off all the sensors.

That is not true. The only thing that sub 250 does is makes it so recreational fliers do not have to register their drone with the FAA. If you use your videos or pics "In furtherance of a business", be that monetized RUclips videos or real-estate photos, e.c.t. you are required to get your Part 107 license and to register the quad, and comply with Remote ID even if it is sub 250. Say, I know this is totally unrelated to the subject at hand but I desperately need your help. I just shot my first video with my new DJI Mini 3 Pro today, and when I played the videos back they had what appeared to be either GPS parameters or telemetry displayed across the entire screen. This makes the videos unusable. Is there some kind of setting turned on that I'm unaware of or something? I've never seen this with any of my other before, including my Mavic Air 2. I'd really appreciate some help with figuring out how to get rid of this and I thought I'd turn to you for some help. Thanks in advance, Eric
Hey Eric, that sucks! I know there is screen recording built into the app/controller, so maybe you are grabbing that file instead of the actual footage file? Are you pulling the file from the drones SD card, or the SD card in the controller?
I'm pulling the footage from the drones SD card. I appreciate your help but I finally figured it out. I had subtitles enabled. I didn't even know that feature existed and even once I saw it I didn't expect it would fill your screen with camera settings and GPS coordinates... Anyway, the problem is resolved now. Thanks again.
Those weren’t my primarily reasons for getting the drone, but yes I have used the drone for a job. Primarily I just wanted the drone for creating my own videos, and they really interest me!
I think the Mini 3 Pro could be great for that! Especially with the latest update which lets you get “tripod mode” (very slow and steady movements essentially) The only thing I’d keep in mind is that it doesn’t have side sensors, so you’d just want to be very careful with knowing your surroundings.
In the US, if flying a drone for commercial purposes, you still have to have a license. The weight thing is about registering the drone (faadronezone-access.faa.gov).... again, if you are licensed you have to register it anyway. Weight is a marketing thing. Also, I found out recently that because of the heat this little guy puts out, you need an SD card that can handle the temps. Most brands have an "Extreme" card and that's what you want to go for. High speed and Extreme.
Hopefully these tips help you get flying sooner! Enjoy the skies folks! 🎉

@@malcomshootseverything I bought the GoPro Hero 9 when it came out. Had so big plans for it! But becoming a parent took all my time, so it has collected dust until now 🙏🏻😅
I considered replacing it with a DJI myself, but I’m saving up for a A7 IV instead. The GoPro 9 works like a charm!
Hello Nice Video, When putting the drone in the bag, put it in the case with camera side upside, The camera cover is not so safe and might damage the gimbal camera, Subbed to your Channel :)
Thanks for the tip! And thanks for watching too!
Thanks in advance,
Eric
Hey Eric, that sucks! I know there is screen recording built into the app/controller, so maybe you are grabbing that file instead of the actual footage file? Are you pulling the file from the drones SD card, or the SD card in the controller?
Yes, go into settings and 'turn subtitles off'.
@@SavageAirCinema Thanks, that was the issue. You guys have all been such a big help.
Glad you can get to enjoying that drone now!
Nice video sir, new sub here :)
Thank you! Appreciate that!
Running the hacked firmware on my Mini 1 is a dream. These drones are too restrictive and rat you out.
👍👍✌️ Drones are fun..
Yes they are!
Mini 3 pro connection issues on screen rc. Mini 3 is better than prop
No issues on my side with RC connection!
Did you purchase this drone to use as a professional? Do you use it to create revenue?
Those weren’t my primarily reasons for getting the drone, but yes I have used the drone for a job. Primarily I just wanted the drone for creating my own videos, and they really interest me!
@@malcomshootseverything Thank you for replying. I am wanting to use it to do roof inspections.
I think the Mini 3 Pro could be great for that! Especially with the latest update which lets you get “tripod mode” (very slow and steady movements essentially)
The only thing I’d keep in mind is that it doesn’t have side sensors, so you’d just want to be very careful with knowing your surroundings.
@@malcomshootseverything Thank you very much and I did subscribe to your channel.
Appreciate that Chris! Thank you!
A little dry, but informative from Pacific City Oregon
good night- yo~that's outstanding dji~wanna a promo?- partner!
I just watched your Montserrat drone video, unreal! Barcelona is my favourite place on this planet!
I am looking for professional drones with no parts made in china for peacekeeping. DJI is full of security flaws.
