Would love your take on my situation. I was rear-ended 2 weeks ago. Minor damage to my car (scrapes on bumper, dented license plate), the other driver was argumentative and claimed no damage to either car, but she intentionally blocked me repeatedly from being able to see or photograph her car’s front end. She eventually fled the scene without exchanging info. I called 911 to report and waited 2.5 hours, but police never came so I never got a police report. I had managed to record her license plate so my insurance tracked her’s down, and she claimed no involvement at all. I sent her insurance pics of her blocking me, and she changed her story to say she was there but didn't hit me. Insurance is saying she's not at fault. I initially was just going to let it go (I didn't want to cause longterm problems for the young woman), but I honestly have whiplash that has gotten worse. Can I still go to a police precinct to get a police report for the hit-and-run aspect of this, or is it too late now? It’s been 14 days and I’m in NYC (must file accident report with dmv within 10 days). Would the hit-and-run make the police report different from the dmv accident report?
Is it legal/what are the legalities surrounding a collision where the police were dispatched by 911 where the police cited the other driver and determined they were 100% at fault for the collision but the other driver's insurance does not follow the police report and claim a 70/30% split on fault while the no-fault parties insurance also found them not at fault either? In this case, it was due to "failure to yield to right-of-way traffic on a left turn."
If you think they're 100% at fault, you're alternative is to file a lawsuit against the other party. Otherwise, I'm not sure about any 'legalities' regarding the ins co's decision.. If they find you 30% at fault, they can do that. You're response would be to file suit....
Hello i have a question today one person of a third party company working for my apartment complex, broke my car window while he was mowing and after that he just left, so I took pictures and went to my apartment's office, they told me where going to send a report and I asked to check the cameras but they also said that was working so the cameras were off I was trying to collect my proof that I didn't move my car during two days, so now they said they can't do anything for me and I have to wait until the other company come to check my car and see what can they do but I have to go to work and that's my unique car, I don't know what to do.

Good morning. I'm sorry she took advantage of you. The thing to do would be to go back to the police department and try to get that report filed even though I know it's difficult. Other than that, your other option would be to go to your insurance company, report it, let them find the woman via the license plate and then let them run with it.
Thank you for your information. I had an accident last week, I called 911. the police came & didn't gave us any ticket or report to both sides. he just left us saying police doesn't involve in such minor accident. we exchanged a copy of DL, insurance and vehicle registration. now both sides saying it wasn't my fault. what if you where hit by atruck and i realized i was at a memeory loss and i was not able to move for five months after but its been in 2018 but i finally remember now tho is it too late now
It would depend on the laws of your state. I would suggest consulting with a local attorney to see if you can 'toll' the statute of limitations in a case like this.
I was just involved in a hit and run on the highway this evening. I reported the accident and described the car to the toll booth lady and begged her to call the police. The car didn't have his license plate in the back. I'm still in shock and feeling aches and pains now that the adrenaline is wearing off. Luckily I was able to correct the car after being hit and didn't crash because that would have been deadly. Don't know what to do.
Hi, hopefully you have insurance coverage to cover the damage. If you don't know who the other party is, sounds like your only option is to go after your own ins.

So there was a snow storm I pulled over to the side of the road because it was dangerous to drive on. I called 911 to tell them I was scared if they can send help my way there were about 10 other cars also stopped we all didn’t have chains on our tires. As I am on the phone with 911 a truck is coming up the mountain. He lost control and slid on the icy road he hit my car while I was parked off to the side. It’s been 15 days since then and the police report is still not finalized but the officer explained to me what was going to be on that report. He says it looks like I was hit by 2 different cars. In that event, you will have to go after the other party's insurance (if you were not at fault) or alternatively, you may be personally liable (if it was your fault).
I was rear ended (very lightly) and stopped but the lady that tapped my bumper didn’t get out of her vehicle. She had been honking, tailgating, and flipping me off, following close behind me and when I slowed for traffic, she lightly tapped my bumper. I didn’t even feel the impact (if you could call it that) I actually thought it was the case of water that I had in back of my SUV banging the inside. So a week later the police department called me and said I left the scene of an accident! I was shocked. Am I in trouble for not reporting a non injury, no damage tap from the car behind me? They are demanding that I come in with a statement Monday morning.

ok the but the report shows the wrong information tho so im kinda worried and yes he is responsible for it as well and promise that he take care of the damage of my car and im also in pain as well
Hi, contact FedEx claims management and file a claim with them. If you want your car fixed quicker, you can file with your own insurance. However, then you'd have to pay your deductible.
Every state has their own law regarding what needs to be reported.... I would just Google it or go on your state Dept of Transportation site to see what is required.
I was just in an accident. I was backing up a trailer. I didn't see anyone behind me. The someone honked the horn. They said I back into them. I think she drove up on me n ran into me. Hi, did you guys exchange insurance and contact information? Or did they just take off? In terms of responsibility, I've had a few parking lot backing up accidents. I think if I recall correctly, it's always been the vehicle backing up that has been found at fault. Unless there's some way to prove the other vehicle was speeding etc etc.
I backed up to a person car and I told her to call the police to make a report but she was in a rush to leave to Houston so we exchanged number no insurance because I sont think she had some but she ask if I can pay for damage and called n text her no reply? I was in an accident this past Saturday at Fullerton & Greenview in Chicago. The other party admitted full fault to me. He went through a red and hit me while I was making a left on a left turn signal. I thought I was being nice by not calling police. I said I would go get an estimate and let him decide if he wants to pay himself or go through insurance. Turns out that he hit my wheel and I should not be driving my car at all. I sent him the estimate. He said it was too high and that he will not pay for a rental car. I told him that a rental i required by law and I should have just filed the police report. He also started to back pedal on being at fault. He gave me all of his info and did not take any of mine. I am a Realtor and 1. need my car for work everyday, 2. cannot be driving a smashed up car. He completely took advantage of my trying to be nice. If I called police right away I would have a rental car right now and my car would be at the shop. Instead, I had to pay $175 to another realtor to take my clients on showings today while I deal with all of this. Any suggestions?
Hi, sorry to hear this. I would go to the police station and file a report. Do you have his license etc.? Then report it to your insurance company and use your own insurance to get a rental car. Did you suffer any injuries? Barry
@@LawFull I have his license plate, pic of his license and ins card all that he gave me. When he challenged me I just called both ins co.s right away and just picked up my rental car. ok the but the report shows the wrong information tho so im kinda worried and yes he is responsible for it as well and promise that he take care of the damage of my car and im also in pain as well
Hi, why don't you email me and tell me what city and state the accident happened in. I may know someone who can help you. info@legalvlogger.com Thanks
A fedex truck hit my car while parked I took a pic of the license plate police came 6 hrs later by the way I’m in Atlanta I don’t kno my next step
Hi, contact FedEx claims management and file a claim with them. If you want your car fixed quicker, you can file with your own insurance. However, then you'd have to pay your deductible.
Thank you for this video,
Can you help me how can i find my report on-line?
Hi, search for the website of the police department that came to the scene of the accident. Or call them tomorrow and ask for the records department
What if there is no damage
Every state has their own law regarding what needs to be reported.... I would just Google it or go on your state Dept of Transportation site to see what is required.
I was just in an accident. I was backing up a trailer. I didn't see anyone behind me. The someone honked the horn. They said I back into them. I think she drove up on me n ran into me. They said I'm taking my car to the shop, I said you wanna call the police. They didn't n we never exchanged any information.
No what could happen?
So they we their way n I went mine.
I did wrong I felt I did what shall I do ?
Wait to hear from her is all you can do. No?
hey barry, after im done with the accident report. who do i take it to afterwards?
Hi, not sure what you mean. Whats the situation?
@@LawFull I’m referring to the police accident report, do they take it in afterwards?
Still not sure what you mean. An accident happens, police come and create report, you wait a couple weeks and go in and pick up a copy or get it online. Does this answer your question?
@@LawFull ok I’m understanding now, there’s also on the website that you could file an accident report online
Do you know what is the reason for filing an accident online for since police can come to the accident easily and file the report
I got in accident this pass one week this guy promise to fixing my car damages at he didn't want to fix my car. What should i do?
File a claim with his insurance company
@@LawFull my insurance will go high if i file clams?
I didn't get his insurance information
@@jessijennib.s3081 File with the other guy's insurance company. If you file with yours (which you probably are obligated by contract to do) your rates could go up. There are no guarantees that even if you are not at fault that your rates won't go up.
@@LawFull i don't have he insurance information i can't
Anyway thank you so much for your help!
I had an accident in NJ waited for 1 hour the police never showed up n I was rear ended ended up exchanging information n now I have a lawsuit against him n insurance company playing games w me

LawFull I filed a lawsuit October 10 th of 2019
LawFull I had back surgery September 27th
@@MoeMoe-nu7vt Sounds like you're covered. Best of luck to you with it.
Live in Kyle TX i was in an accident and the police did not file a police department , I ask the police why , he didn't file police report , the kid I WAS in an accident with, didn't have a license, Didn't have insurance. The police said. Oh, well you both exchanged , the necessary information
, he WAS wrong
I took pictures of the accident, the young guys , I', D, a picture of his Nissan ,that belonged to a dealer. .a picture of my SUV . The kid had no lights
, on his Nissan
THE POLICE said , I can't give you a picture of the cameras. Over looking the street
I called the police to obtain a police report and he said i never made a police report .
I gave a statement to the cops of my accident now their filed false reporting charges against me. For telling the truth. I didnt lie what to do
I was in an accident this past Saturday at Fullerton & Greenview in Chicago.
He admitted 100% fault to his ins. co. I did not think I had injuries at time of accident and this morning, but now have right shoulder and lower back pain. Probably nothing I can do now because I was an idiot and just trying to be nice. Unfortunately, you just cannot be nice to or trust people. This is really sad.
If you are hurting, I would go to the doctor. Your case is one thing. Your health is another. Focus on your health, not your case. Personal opinion. By the way, Im in Glenview :)
No police should not be i volved its not their job its i surance job
Hello, I am sorry but I disagree strongly with that statement. It is not the insurance company's job to call the police. The victim of the accident should call as soon as possible.
