I remember right after MK came out, all these derivative fighters showed up, especially on Atari Jaguar.
It was funny seeing them get reviewed in Gamepro magazine, then you'd never hear about these games again.
The 90's were crazy times for games and comics.

The Sega CD port is what really show it's MK clone side. The Genesis version is just normal fighting game like Street Fighter.

Some of these Mortal Kombat clones I never played Kasumi ninja looked all right tattoo assassins I don’t know about never played it that guy that’s the AC current or whatever if Johnny cage from the original Midway Mortal Kombat game.

But that game made the same mistake as *Mortal Kombat I, II, 3 & Ultimate* by porting the games onto the SNES and GB instead of the N64 and GBA.

Kasumi Ninja was amazing back in the day. Controls are weird beyond belief. You have to hold down the 'special' button (I think is 'C') and input the controls similar to how Primal Rage used to be.
Also, would take ya a whole 4 minutes to Google special moves for all of these games before you record... just sayin'

game has a bit of a competitive scene, there was a small tournament at combo breaker not that long ago
game has small issues
take 39:35 for example
he was pressing kick buttons on wakeup, during that window the game buffered in a super
39:32 he used his frame adv wrong (+1 on hit)
then walked a bit to use 236K again, instead of a frame trap counter
some of these games looking more like killer instinct clones more than mortal kombat clones...

I was one of the few people that bought an Atari Jaguar and I got Kasumi Ninja the same day II bought the console. It was awful but we got some "so bad its good laughs" at things like Angus firing a fireball. I thought Syndicate and Alien Vs Predator were great on the Jaguar and Theme Park was well done as well as Canon Fodder, Atari made games were about the worst on the console.
I dont know why they wont bring back the digitized character style again..personally i liked mk the most when they did that....with the technology nowadays the digitized look would be awesome

Yeah i dunno what emulator u are using for the Jaguar games. But Ultra Vortex is running to fast and Kasumi ninja shows missing graphics in this case the ground is missing

Its really ashame that this game wasnt given the time to develop through sequels & rather that its daddy, Sega, decided to scrap it in favor of Virtual Fighter, a very sega of japan hatin on sega of america thing to do, im only speculating but who really knows.
What IS true is that they decided to go with VF instead, in order not to double dip the market, meanwhile Capcoms like,hold my beer and instead doubles down dips, as they release 6 diff versions of SF2 lol.
Dont get me wrong, VF is the OG 3D fighter and way ahead of its time, but imo, thats all it had going for it and everyone knows that 3d also came with its own headaches. BUT what really disappoints me is that EC never got a chance to show off its unique premise in its story or some of its different gameplay.
EC essentially took fighters from all across time from 10,000 BC to 2300 AD in its selection of characters, where you have your blast from the past, brutal club bearing caveman, coming and rushing down a futuristic cyborgnetic, thai fightin champion, like WTF?! LOL in a good way.
I believe given enough time, EC could become a very decent story if develed into more thoroughly. IMO, VF just felt derivative, i dont really know the story of VF, but something tells me MANY people havent a clue either.
Its such a clone that even its name is a bore, "Hey Kids! u liked street fighter well, heres VIRTUAL FIGHTER!".
Its essentially tekken without the crazy characters, where EC had that, plus even crazier and more instense fatalities than Mortal Kombat! called of all things OVERKILL! lol brilliant. I felt there was alot of creativity and enough uniquness harbored for EC that just goes unacknowledged.
The little things as well, such as, starting off, 1st game in a we get both more than 1 female character AND more than 1 darker skined individuals, and even like SF, A green guy for good measure, showing more diversity than both SF and MK.
There was also this unique fighting stage, think it was called battle room, where you could turn off and on stage hazards and items that slowed or speed up the game play, increased or decrease health and special meter, etc., providing a random splash of insanity, that made for a Smash Bros like fight WAY before and without the ringout platforming.
Once again, Sega drops the ball, Eternal Champions had great potential to be a phenomenal future fighting game franchise and I for one, had just as much fun playing it, as the SFs, and the MKs. Wish someone would revive it

I was gonna do that but to learn all the fatalities for every character and then try to do them would have made this ridiculously long video even longer. But maybe ill do it its not a bad idea and I honestly did want to do that just would have taken forever.

Well except for killer instinct it really is a clone of mortal kombat even though its not digitized characters but in a way they imitates mk features like fatalities and suppposed to be stage fatality but its ok to me unlike this sht of a clones. I mean they are garbage than a clone of mk
