    "Our scars can destroy us… even after the physical wounds have healed. But if we can survive them. They can give us the power. To Endure. And the strength to fight."
    The Batman was one of the most hyped movies of the recent years. Matt Reeves knows what is he doing and we are in for a ride with this trilogy. In the meantime I hope you enjoy this video.

    I'm sick of this false narrative that Pattinson didn't "play a good Bruce Wayne." These people don't know the character. Bruce Wayne at his core is a broken man beyond repair. In Batman begins Bruce mostly looking good. There are some but few moments of stress or anxiety displayed for much of the film. Meanwhile Pattinson looks so tired and mentally drained throughout the film since from the very beginning (which is much more accurate). This is what Pattinson plays so well. A Broken Bruce Wayne. A REAL Bruce Wayne.

      exactly. there is no dual personality. bruce and batman are the one in the same. batman is used by bruce as an unhealthy coping mechanism for his trauma. reeves himself says so in the hbo max extras.

      Casuals who don’t understand the character probably say that. To him, Bruce is the mask, Batman is who he really is. But even then, a major part of his arc in this movie is that he doesn’t know HOW to be Bruce Wayne. He’s only focused on vengeance, and it isn’t until the end of the movie he realizes he has to become more than that.
      It’s like people just didn’t pay attention to the movie.

    The moment he heard Riddler’s follower say “I’m vengeance”, Batman knew that he created Riddler as a result of his vengeance. His rage for what he lost. That’s when he realized that revenge cripples rather than protects. Vengeance doesnt heal wounds, it infects them. Now Batman sees that it’s time to be something else. To be Justice.

    • @themadtitan7603
      @themadtitan7603 2 года назад +274

      Exactly, he realized Riddler and his followers were doing the same thing he was doing which was inflicting their pain and anger on the world and if Batman continued down his same path, he'd be no better than them.
      So, he reinvents BATMAN by sacrificing himself and comes out of the water reborn as a symbol of hope to all the innocents in Gotham. He's their hope but the criminals' reckoning which makes him... Justice.

    I thought the ending monologue was beautifully placed. During Bruce's beginning monologue he talks about how he is the embodiment of the dark and it strikes fear in the criminals. But during his ending monologue he states "I have had an effect here, but not the one I intended", while he is literally the light guiding the citizens through the dark and wet rubble to safety. Really shows the transformation from vigilante to hero over the course of the movie.

    This movie perfectly represents what it feels to grow up with deep sadness & depression due to loss and grief, struggles of finding your place in this world and trying to fill your father's shoes. All you want is to honor them, be like them, trying to figure out how did they do it, to become the person that you know as your parent. Trying to learn what kind of person they were from people around you while trying to protect their memories as you know, because you feel this strong desire of protect ing the idea of them, because that is the only thing you've left of them, memories and the teachings they have given you while you were young. You are not afraid to die but you feel like losing your temper whenever you think there is a chance of losing people you care about, consequently you try to distance yourself from everyone around you, people,friends, possible relationships or perhaps even family or whatever that is left of it. You are afraid to connect because you do not want to lose again, you do not want to feel everything in this life has been taken away from you, that you are alone to your bones. You have taken over a mission to honor your parents and created a mask that could not be harmed or stopped with any force, a safe space where you can never get hurt, a character that will never surrender whatever happens, and that is your revenge against life, the very circumstances what have caused you to be scarred and alone caused you to follow a never ending path of vengeance, against life, against your loss. That is the only way you know how to force a meaning to this life filled with pain and loss, taking up responsibility and following a path you know will never end. You still do anyways because that is how you make your pain and loss mean something in the end, helping to those around you who are in pain and need of help, like you needed once but never found. You finally realize that you can not change your past, that deep sadness you carry with you, but you can still make a difference in this life and honoring your lost loved ones in the process. That is true vengeance, against life, against your loss and it stems from most humane emotion after all, hope. Something as equally powerful as your pain and it will be what you hold on to in your darkest hours, enabling us to endure this life and give us the strength to fight.

    This film is truly emotional.
    I honestly can’t get over how emotional it is. Seeing how Bruce shut his heart down a long time ago and replaced any fear he had with anger and rage and then when it all comes back to him with almost losing Alfred, almost losing Selina it all hits him so hard. I think he realizes that the point is you can’t ever get rid of fear. It’s always going to be there one way or another. The pain however, you can decide wether or not the pain of whatever happens turns you into a monster or helps you grow into something more. Letting the pain teach you and show you that you can and will get through it all no matter how painful it might be. Even better, show that to others who were and are probably still in the darkness of fear. People who live in the fear that things won’t get better. That’s why I love that ending so much. Because it’s that realization that he needs to break the locks on his heart and let himself feel, let himself feel that pain to grow.

      It really did.. I don’t understand how people are trying to say it barely portrayed Bruce Wayne’s typical personality, but just Batman.. I think with this particular film reeves was trying to aim for a more isolated, damaged, narcissistic Bruce Wayne, which I loved honestly.. I feel like that persona really gave meaning to the his nickname“Vengeance” throughout the film.. If you really think about it, that’s sort of how bale was in Batman begins occasionally.. so I new going into a new trilogy of Batman, he’s isn’t going to start out being this playboy billionaire at first.. maybe I did a little judging of the trailers, but Pattinson still has a lot time to grow as Bruce Wayne/Batman.. he’s only 2 years in, so he’s still figuring himself out as Batman, but more importantly a better person and symbol of hope.

      @@CaffeyAaron I mean... People say that because it's true. Bale had the playboy persona in Batman Begins. Typically, Bruce is smart enough to know he needs to the playboy persona to put people off the scent of him being Batman.
      Now, I'm not complaining; I like this take and I think it works. Because it does do a wonderful job I think showing the REAL Bruce. But there's definitely reasons for people to say it barely portrays typical Bruce... Because its missing one large aspect of the typical Bruce character.

    • @jrob4795
      @jrob4795 2 года назад

      @@CaffeyAaron Bruce developed his Billionaire playboy persona within the first few months of becoming Batman at Alfred's behest. Alfred spent some time as a stage actor before he became a butler for the Wayne's, and he taught Bruce, and the other members of the Bat Family how to develop aliases, disguises, persona's in order to protect their identities. As much as I enjoyed this movie, it's pretty hard to watch if you're a purist, because so much of the character was gutted, in order to emphasize...I don't know...I guess the emo side of Batman/Bruce Wayne? People keep mentioning that it's year two of his career, as if that's why he's so bare bones, but if anyone picked up a comic set in that era of his career, they'd know that Batman's problems didn't come from a lack of skill, or undeveloped persona...his difficulties came from the escalation of crime. He went from beating on purse snatchers, and Mob enforcer's to defending his morality against killer clowns, to fisticuffs with 8ft immortal Zombie men, to former DA's with murderous split personality disorder. That escalation is the only thing I think the film got right...other than that, I barely recognized the character. There are many interpretations of Batman, but the foundations are usually untouched...until now that is.

    • @errwhattheflip
      @errwhattheflip 2 года назад

      @@jrob4795 Think about it like this. This Batman is a Batman who didn't know wtf to do with Gotham. He's basically just beating the shit out of random criminals on the street. He hasn't yet formed that persona because he hasn't yet found a use for it. He essentially considers the suit his armor. Bruce Wayne in his opinion is weak, hence why he hunches over and appears frail when he comes out as only Bruce Wayne.
      The foundations of a character are different from their origin. Reeves made a very realistic take on the mindset of both Bruce Wayne and Batman, so obviously the origin of the persona had to be changed.
      The main foundations are his core character traits which are: his intellect, his morality/integrity, his physical strength, his resolve, and his compassion. I believe that Pattinson's Batman aced all of these aspects. He's a detective, he doesn't kill, he's fit enough to go around at night to beat criminals up, he walks into danger and stands up for what he thinks is right even when nobody else will (something shown in the 3rd act) and will try to save someone even if it poses more risk to him, and shows compassion for others or at least has a compassionate side with him such as the scenes with him and the mayor's son

      @@errwhattheflip You know what was awesome about Captain America: Winter Solider? It was able to perfectly splice both the essence of the comics, the characters abilities, and personalities, while maintaining a strong tone of realism, and seriousness...why can't WB/DC do that? Why are they ashamed of Batman the comic book character? They keep giving us these films where Batman is barely more than an MMA fighter wearing kevlar. I'm glad you enjoyed this film, but I've absolutely had it with these "realistic" takes.

      @@LegendInThaMakin what are the complaints?

    • @LegendInThaMakin
      @LegendInThaMakin 2 года назад

      @@zak_atck I loved the story, I loved the message at the end, loved the cinematography, I liked the fact that they used the riddler (Batman & Spider-Man have the best villains in all of comics and I wish movie directors would explore more of them instead of using the joker & green goblin all the time) …I didn’t like riddlers costume design though, kinda random. I have no idea what inspired that, I’ve never seen riddler look like that before in any movie or comic or adaptation. Overall I didn’t like Robert Pattinsons Batman. He isn’t a very good Bruce Wayne, because of what Bruce Wayne’s personality is supposed to be & his Batman is so unskilled and was way too vulnerable and regular. Batman is supposed to be a legendary figure, almost a myth, but in this movie, most times he just seemed like some guy in a suit, he’s supposed to be extremely elusive but he gets shot like, a lot in this movie. The action scenes were meh, I honestly enjoyed the puzzle solving more.
      At some point in the movie Alfred said “I taught you how to fight” ..well it definitely shows. The real Batman traveled the world to master all kinds of martial arts before returning to Gotham to put on the suit, this guy is just meh.
      I still thought it was a good movie though but it’s mostly because I’m such a huge Batman fan, if I didn’t care about Batman this movie would be pretty okay.

    • @LegendInThaMakin
      @LegendInThaMakin 2 года назад +1

      @@zak_atck I also rolled my eyes at the end of the movie when the joker was talking to the riddler… like… again? Another joker movie next? Why? Why doesn’t any director recreate the story of Jason Todd and the red hood? Why not the court of owls story? Why not cover hush as a villain? Wish we could see some robin development, he’s a huge part of Batman’s character, hopefully one day we get to see “batman who laughs” but no, we are stuck with yet another joker story that we all know won’t be better than Heath ledgers anyway :/
      Still a good movie, just overhyped is all. It had all the cliches of a modern day Batman movie, every single one always feels the need to remind us of his parents being shot like everyone doesn’t already know at this point.

    easily the GREATEST live action Batman film EVER MADE.
    I literally can't stop watching the masterpiece that is this film. the cinematography, the score, the pacing, the acting, the action, all absolutely brilliant. if you don't like it, then fine. but I really don't get this attitude that a new take on an iconic character somehow takes away from whatever came before. it doesn't and that's an extremely ridiculous and immature point of view and way of looking at things. when it's all said and done, it's EXTREMELY likely that we will have TWO GREAT Batman trilogies on our hands. and if you're a fan of the character, that's just awesome. if you don't like it, don't watch. deliberately coming here just to hate shows how threatened you are by this film. if the Batman truly sucked as much as you say it does, then you would just laugh it off, or at least be indifferent to it. but instead you're all butthurt and in your feelings. because you know it's fantastic, deep down. if you prefer Bales pansy ass weak Batman and truly atrocious action scenes, stuffed full of shaky cam, jump cut bullshit, and absolutely glaring plot-holes, then more power to ya. but for literally TONS of us, we've finally found our Dark Knight and it shouldn't matter to you at all. don't watch, just go jerk it to a picture of Nolan
