This was the moment i realized, when it comes to Castlevania, he isn't the Angry Video Game Nerd, he is the Nostalgic Video Game Nerd and well worthy of that title
This is one of most emotional games i ever played. It doesn't have a plot or complex gameplay. But it has amazing atmosphere of travelling across Transsylvania. The game mostly is meditative.
To me, this track is magical: It's the culmination of hours of effort, it's the beginning of my passion for games, the first taste of victory, it's my childhood... I can truly say this song makes my day better when I listen to it.
I felt the same when i listen on the first time... Its so nostalgic, the time is passing but some simple things stay here in our memories... The life is so magic than this song...
+Alucard Tepes I couldn't agree more. It's nostalgic and brings back memories of childhood and family. And the first time I ever completed and ended this epic game.😢😭
Some consoles, especially back then, don't get utilized to their potential until late in their life cycle. Konami did something this epic in the system's first year in North America.
migueeeelet I think we're going in different directions with this. I was talking about how well utilized the SNES capabilities, especially its mode 7 graphics, early in the console's life. Many of the SNES's features were showcased earlier in the console's life than most other consoles up to that time in my opinion, and I would say that it was another 2 years, with the release of Star Fox, that we got a much better look at what it could do.
DJCandyManMike Well, I said that the programmers took time to fully use the NES' potential. Not that early games suck nor anything like that. Whatever x3 I never really played NES or SNES.
This song gives me such a feeling of resolution and peace. Makes me imagine that all the fighting and pursuing of achievements we do in life is not in vain, that in the end, as long as we don't surrender as we battle for our beliefs and goals to the very end...we will find closure one way or another.
There's no feeling as in this world as cathartic as reaching the end of the game and hearing this blissful, yet epically victorius piece of music. So satisfying.
Castlevania is a series that has always delivered the goods when it comes to the soundtrack... But never has there been a more ambient, and peaceful theme than in Super Castlevania IV. The ending theme to this game lets the player reflect on the journey of getting up to Dracula, and knowing that it was all worth it in the end as we watched that castle come crumbling down. It evokes a sense that peace and harmony has been restored for at least another 100 years.
blowskiol this comment maybe late but I think the ending them from a link to the past is as good as this one, I love both and have them on my playlist.
I just finished this game today and man it was beautiful. Im sure little kid me wouldve loved this game since I was a retro nerd (born in 04). This song genuinely made me cry
I'm convinced that the creators of Castlevania IV did everything in their power to make this an adventure that players would remember and cherish for the rest of their lives. I could give many examples: from the atmosphere to the music in this game, but if you played it, you'll know exactly what I mean.
Though I love the Metroidvania style games and their rockin' music (looking at you Julius Belmont!), I just love the atmospheric feel of Super Castlevania IV the most. So epic!!
As a Castlevania fan raised on the modern era of games I was very pleased with going back to see the series in its purest form with the NES games and especially IV. The last three stages gave me a tough challenge as I expect from the series but I manage to conquer death, slogra and gaiben in one go. When I finally landed that last hit on Dracula, I felt a sense of peace and satisfaction. I will always cherish the new memories I made with these old games now.....and forever..
My God brings back memories... Being a kid and my dad told me his friend at work is into games so he brought this home one day bc his friend let him borrow it and said here let your son play this. Such a great game.
AS a kid, I loved the soundtrack of this game so much, especially this ending theme, that I played it fully with my flute by trial and error, till the melody sounded good to me ^^
Man, the best games are the older ones, I don't care what people say. The feeling this tune leaves you with after beating Dracula and watching his castle crumble in the distance is truly amazing. It makes you look back at the incredible journey this game takes you on, and you think to yourself "Yeah..."
I finish my Halloween every year with this song. Feels like the right thing to do; especially because Halloween is my favourite time of year to see friends and have fun.
I'll admit, I was born when the SNES was in its final years, so I never got to experience it in its heyday, but many of its games I still hold cherished memories as a kid at my grandmother's. As for this one, I never got the chance to truly play it until I got the SNES Classic Edition in 2017, and after playing it, as my first ever Castlevania game, I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere, the gameplay, the music, the environments, I absolutely adored it. Hell, I made it a Halloween tradition to play this game at least once every October. I've done it for a couple years now and I always enjoy doing it. Hell I turn the borders off and have the CRT filter on as well as turn the lights off which honestly always makes me feel like a kid when I do it. I'll always love this game, and I'll be sure to keep my tradition strong for years to come.
memories; I absolutely love this, great how it builds up - it feels like some kind of "Dracula chronicle" at 0:40 to 1:16, and the finish after that is just so grand & picturesque; the end of the cursed shadow cast over the land by Dracula and his castle, a great evil has passed...
It’s 2022 I remember playing this game back in ‘96 and Loving it this song made the time I spent on the game worth it. After all the hard times i’ve had i. my life the people that have come and gone and this still stay with me. This game/song will forever live in my memories.
Definitely gives a sense of peace returning to a distraught land. :D Also comes into my mind when a grueling college semester is over. The final projects done, the next semester (or adventure, if you will. ;) ) has been determined, and it's just time to relax. :)
back in march, my dad came skinteeth close to dying of septic shock after catching another disese during liver surgery, after 15 hours of not knowing if he will make it, i was told after that he was going to live, i let out a big sigh of relief and instantly this song pops in my head.
If the 1999 Demon castle war game finally makes it out, This will 100% be the ending theme as the threat of Dracula is finally over after its whip power from julius's final swing summoned Every Official Belmont who wilded the whip, and they all Whipped Dracula so hard that a Shockwave louder than Krakatoa that sounds like a angelic violin Choir singing, Destroying Dracula Instantly.
Best feeling ever after you beat this game...games these days are extremly short and have a lot of shortcuts if you are not that good player thx to games like this one the 80/90 gamers are the best of the best!
Never had a Super nintendo as a kid but I grew up with my NES when most kids were playing N64 and Xbox This song is really powerful to me from the AVGN episodes where James Rolf covered all the castlevania games
I don't know of any music track that expresses accomplishment and pacification more beautifully. Through the limited SNES sound capabilities, pure emotion shines through.
I agree. Great ending! After fighting for your life in a country far away saving thousands of lives Dracula could potentially make... You watch the sunrise and return home with an empty mind and a satisfied feeling :)
Castlevania 3 is my favorite of the old school Castlevania games, but this is my favorite ending theme from any of the old school games in the series. It almost makes me cry when I listen to it because it makes me think of the time in my life when I first bought and played the game. When the game came out in the U.S. I was in eighth grade, and I bought the game on March 13, 1992, shortly after my birthday. The next day I beat the game and heard this song for the first time. Out of all my middle school years eighth grade was probably my favorite, so yeah, I get a little choked up when I hear this and think back to those days. Thank goodness for the Internet and social media, as it has made it so much easier to get back in touch with my classmates from back then.
definitely one of the hardest, but not the hardest imo. super ghouls and ghosts is by far the hardest game i’ve ever played, and have not beaten it to this day. super castlevania IV is still my favorite tho
The thing about Castlevania IVs ost as a whole is that it really isn't as boppin as the first 3, but it's so damn atmospheric! Like, I couldn't really hum any of the songs aside from Simon's Theme, but holy moly do you really feel that the scope of this game, the journey, is so much bigger than the others. 3 will always be my favourite, but it won't give you chills like 4
I have to agree with how amazingly atmospheric the OST is, and that's why it's my favorite non-Metroidvania Castlevania OST. Literally only one song on the entire soundtrack that I don't care for. The Forest of Monsters theme in particular gives off such an incredible sense of adventure. Fits so perfectly with the stage that starts you out in a wooded graveyard, takes you through a bog, up a mountain and down a beautiful rushing stream.
@@BoshiYoshi Which track don't you particularly like? And the only Metroidvania I've played is Aria of Sorrow, but I'm not a huge fan of the games being set exclusively in the castle; I love the idea of going to a graveyard, a waterfall, a bog, it feels more adventurous. I should probably give the Metroidvania games another chance, though, they get a lot of praise
The only track I don't really like from Castlevania IV is the Cellar/Dungeon stage music, which just so happens to also be my least favorite stage. Maybe you should give Portrait of Ruin a shot in that case. In that game you're still playing in the castle but you also enter paintings that take you to different locations and settings outside of Castlevania.
This is the song you play on final day of your senior year ... In a couple more months it will the end of my senior year ... Update, well my senior just ended
Aaron Nicewonger Depends a bit on taste, but I'm not a fan of the Lord of Shadows series. Gameplay isn't anything stand out IMO, and I feel the aesthetic and story really doesn't capture the charm of the classic CV-universe.
Aaron Nicewonger Well I guess it's a matter of taste. Personally this gen, I found the Dark Souls series to be more reminiscent of oldschool CV, with its methodical and strategy heavy combat, and gloomy gothic exploration.
They got gloomy and gothic yes. But I felt it was TOO gloomy and gothic. Needed an injection of fanciful and beautiful as well. The old games did a great job combining beauty with gloom. And I feel your thoughts on combat are slightly misconstrued. CV has never relied on strategy heavy combat. They relied heavily on strategy-heavy enemy placement and movement. Lots of level/area memorizing. The combat itself was rather simple. Even later metroidvania games. Smack + dodge + repeat. I will admit that LoS failed at recapturing the platforming qualities of classic vania. But dark souls/demons souls doesn't do this either. Though LoS does come close with it's traversal aspects. Just not close enough. Though the ONLY 3D CV games to get platforming right were CV64 and LoD. Though LoI came close. Especially with the whip swinging similar to SCV4.
I always felt like the beat on DMX's track: "Ready to meet him" was inspired by this soundtrack on his album Flesh of my flesh, blood of my blood. Wonder if it was..
“and once you’ve beaten the game in the wee hours of the morning...
and watch the castle crumble,
You reflect on all that time you just spent.

Fuck you, James!!! I hate getting all tingly feely!! >:c
You played the greatest role in this video.
Thank you for watching.
AVGN is a RUclips legend He inspired me to go out and buy this game and complete it.
This was the moment i realized, when it comes to Castlevania, he isn't the Angry Video Game Nerd, he is the Nostalgic Video Game Nerd and well worthy of that title
glorious memories
"You played the greatest role in this RUclips clip. Thank you for watching."
The most heartfelt thing he's done. It didn't feel like AVGN speaking to you it felt like James himself.
Yeah, true...
Hahaa yeaah
Sounds like you've never played this game before
I play this song in my head everytime a school year ends.
Tasteful.
Remember to play this the day you walk into the church with the person you love. :-)
How many years do you have to go?

Hearing this play at the end of the AVGN Castlevania Saga made my heart ache in a good way. ❤🔥🥲❤🔥
It was very heartwarming. It felt more like James talking to us than his persona. Just absolutely classy
I’m glad you found this song, we will forever be friends.
James absolutely loves CV4 the most.
One of the best ending musical compositions in gaming history...goosebumps.
Hey you! I watched your video on the Kefka battle. We both share very similar taste.
This is one of most emotional games i ever played. It doesn't have a plot or complex gameplay. But it has amazing atmosphere of travelling across Transsylvania. The game mostly is meditative.
This song genuinely brings tears to my eyes. I didn’t grow up with this game but damn. So perfect
My god this is such a perfect powerful song. Really gives you a sense of accomplishment after beating this beast of a title.... So Magical :')
and that's coming from the Silent Hill SR King

That's incredible how a thing as simple as a video game can give you so many feelings! :')
Those days with my family, my dogs, my mom cooking, the whole family together, those cold autumns and winters, my cousins.......I really wanna cry :(

An ending with no words but so emotional and satisfy... Good triumph over evil... And the feeling you are the hero.
This is the song for me when I die and people are at my funeral.
+Brennan Martinez absolutely amazing, me too !!!!
For me it's Kool and the Gang - Celebration
M_Dutch97 Cool.

It wouldn't be a good idea to play that song on a funeral, would it now?
@@M_Dutch97 For some reason, I'm just NOW seeing this. RUclips has nuanced logic, but to answer your question, yes, it'd be most awkward.

I did come back and it's still an absolutely amazing tune, one of the very best !! :D
Long live castlevania
I hated this song because I knew it was all over
I always felt like the beat on DMX's track: "Ready to meet him" was inspired by this soundtrack on his album Flesh of my flesh, blood of my blood. Wonder if it was..
This is how it's gonna sound when we finally find the cure.
And I hope the world ends up a better place because of it.
