Found this by chance, what a walk down memory lane, As a kid in the 60’s I stayed in my grandma’s caravan on Golden Sands caravan site in Mablethorpe every summer x
I used to holiday at Mablethorpe when I was a child. I recall the amusement arcade with the cowboy you had to draw against 😅 I had my photo taken there as a five-year-old, with a monkey on my shoulder (looking traumatised). And I vaguely remember a cinema and fantastic beaches that stretched on forever... All in all, I cherish lovely memories of family summer holidays here. 🤩
Great video again buddy . Thanks for bringing back all my childhood memories with my Dad and late Mum and Grandparents. I was basically in Mablethorpe for 6weeks in Summer in our Grandparents caravan. Still love the place to this day. Thanks again keep up the great work 👍👍❤
Went to Mablethorpe yesterday, parked in the car park at the far end of Queens park boating lake. My wife and I are both watching our weight do to medical reasons so we decided to share a portion of fish and chips from the fish and chip shop on the end of the car park we had one portion of fish which the two of us were struggling to finish however it was so nice we could not waste it!
Amen. Went there in 1990. Hated it. Our designated caravan hadn't been cleaned properly and was probably a relic from the Fifties or Sixties. The beds were too short as well, and the main children's "entertainer" there didn't seem as if he took his duties that seriously. Never looked back at that cruddy place.
I've just got back from two weeks camping at mablethorpe. I've been a few times so it must have something about it! The best thing.... the beach! Especially if you park on the seal sanctuary car park. The beach is a lot quieter at the far end. Absolutely outstanding. The worst bit...the main Street! This year it was really difficult to navigate the narrow footpaths because of the amount of mobility scooters. They were everywhere! Everyone deserves a holiday so I'd love to see the local council try and find a solution for the difficulties! We used mablethorpe for the beach and as a base to explore the area. The Lincolnshire coast is beautiful and well worth exploring!
We have just spent a week over Easter in Mablethorpe and was quite disappointed. It’s really run down and very tatty, hopefully it improves in time for peak season. The beech is very nice though!
Wonderful video.. We love Mablethorpe and we stayed in this fantastic holiday cottage "Fisherman's cottage" at Queens park and its pet friendly too, Cant wait to go back next year
I could never have envisaged how little Mablethorpe has changed. A few tweaks here and there but it's almost like stepping back in time, Tim. One... maybe two happy memories of the Golden Sands stands out for me - The cowboy who used to challenge anyone who would to a draw in the amusement arcade. And when my parents used to take us for a nightime stroll along the coastline. Getting back to the caravan, our hair would've been sodden by the sea mist. Lovely vid, Tim. Thanks! 😀👍
Aww thanks for this,my granddaughter and I used to go here when she was little and we had some great adventures up and down the coast there. She's older now and of course doesn't really want to be hanging out with granddad these days but some of the memories that are gone break your heart.Lovely to see though and recognise the various landmarks we remember 🙂
Best beach in Britain. Nice pure Sand, lots of room, stretches for miles and the tide goes out far. 3:51 you're entering what used to be a swimming pool believe it or not.
Lived in mablethorpe all my life I’m now 40, ithe town certainly wakes up in the summer, but very quiet in the winter, this is great video of our little town Tim also the lights on the top of the big pole is known as the mablethorpe star
Hi Tim this was a little gem never been looks so lovely. Beautiful beach loved the sand train how cute . Really enjoyed the tour thankyou for sharing with us . Love to you as always Tracey 💕 xxxx

Hey Tim, You missed the boating lake, the outdoor splash pool, the mini train and other crazy golf area. There also the Dunes complex and cinema. Plus there is the Haven and Seal rescue where there is an amazing stretch of beach which is very quiet there. The lifeboat station is very impressive too. That big light you said looks cool is called the Star of the East and shines blue. Lincolnshire born and bred ❤️
Great video I spent most of my young childhood in Mablethorpe my grandad had a caravan on one camp and my parents on the other there was 3 camps at the time , the Golden Sands camp was a dream come true as a child plenty to do on there and immaculately kept
Gerardos Italian restaurant is one of the very best Italian restaurants you could wish to eat at. Absolutely superb, and we drive 83 miles to Mablethorpe to eat there and stay at a brilliant B and B called the Victoria on the same road as Gerardos. You might take the pee out of Maybo but Gerardos and the Victoria B and B are worth every penny you might spend at either place. Absolutely brilliant places.
Talking about the train, I can still remember when I used to go to Wildwood in New Jersey with my family when I was a kid and all you hear all day long is: "Watch the tram-car please!" Over and over and over. LOL
I stayed on the edge of Mablethorpe many years in a B and B. I thought Mablethorpe was a bit rough and ready and wouldn't stay there again. I would stay in the really pretty Sutton on Sea just a short walk away. In Mablethorpe's defence though the beach is superb. Thanks for your work as ever Tim. Great job.
Suttons really nice if you fancy something a bit quieter and not bothered about arcades, rides etc. Love Mablethorpe though. Ten minutes walk on the sea front there's the Queens Park which is a nice little area. Outdoor paddling pool for the kids, mini train, etc. Some affordable family fun.
Back in the 1960's the smallest Go-cart track was the paddle boats lake, I am nearly seventy now but still have memories of those paddle boats super fun.
There is also a lovely little cinema on the coast road. Bargain price tickets starting at £3.95 for an early bird. Also the Seal Sanctuary is definitely worth a mention/visit.
Used to spend hours in the kid’s play park that had a huge outdoor paddling pool and awesome play area. You got your hand stamped so you could come and go for the day. Also loved the crazy golf!
Hey Tim , Hope you had fun there. Looks like a great place to visit. Kids and big kids alike would love this place. Beautiful job Tim. Have a fantastic weekend. ☀️

One great thing about Mabletherpe which is better than Skeg and ingoldmells is they are a lot more dog friendly. I often have a drive up there to take my dog for a walk. Very few places don’t accept dogs. Just a point on the lights they are not Christmas lights as much as they look like they are. They are classed as the illuminations that go up at the start of August and run through till Feb. At Christmas the ones along the Main Street in Mabletherpe get changed. Skeg is the same but our lights only run along the front. Also need to add that mablethorpe has a seal Sanctuary that rely on people that helps pay towards feeding animals they rescue which is also a 5 min drive or a 40 min walk from main street also bus goes to it
Or you could pay one way and get the sand train which takes you pretty close to it. We often got the sand train to visit the animal gardens where the seal sanctuary is. Also the sand train used to take you right up to the sea edge. Always fun. Not sure if it does now.
