A beautiful ballad, performed by singers who can hit and hold a note! What a concept! You can combine all the talent (?) of today's pop stars, and it would not add up to what you are watching right here. It's not a matter of material and style, it's a matter of TALENT. And there is a serious lack of it in today's singers. Why can't today's singers hit and hold a note without all that wavering up and down all over the note? Why not? Because they have very little talent. They all sound the same.

I have seen this video 238 times at least, and always I feel the same, an admiration of both for this performance absolutelly perfect, full of charm, ellegance, quality in their voices and each one singing first and second voice. Both singers the most important of sixties. 1964 - when this show was realized - is 1 year before of The Sound of Music movie. The music "In a language of love" is so so so beautiful. And please, pay atention to the orchestra, probablely live (they are in the plato), equalized perfectly to avoid volume cover voices of singers. I have noticed something very interesting. When we hear romantic songs created before '60 normally they result "old fashioned music", funny but not touching our heart. But when we listen music after 1960 (Moon River between many others from Henry Mancini, Burt Bacharach, Enio Morricone ) those songs are nostalgic and authentic romantic melodies, wich they touch our deep heart and soul. When TV was REAL, and the people that entertained us week after week were (are) real. Simple and pure. I listen to Andy Williams music anytime of the year, even the Christmas music. It's an absolute treasurer to be able to appreciate and enjoy this master piece w/ two (2) legends at the top of their game. I would like to add to this conversation here. Music like this isn't made very much anymore is because people don't play instruments much anymore. So much of today's "music"is computer generated it's pathetic. I'm a recording engineer. I see this every day. I always have "artists" ask me to create beats for them. I do it cause I don't wanna turn anyone down. Especially since the business isnt exactly the easiest to make money in right now. Little do they know though that I play the drums and can use all kinds of effects to make them sound like they want them to. With the exceptions of say Lady Gaga, instruments seem to be a commodity. And it's really quite sadbif you ask me.

Interesting how he took ownership of Moon River like Frank did of My Way, Bing did of White Chistmas and Tony Bennet did of I left my heart in San Francisco.

I'm only 51 so I don't want to come across as an 'old fart' but we've sadly lost this kind of entertainment & now,even more sadly,we are bombarded with so-called reality tv! I rarely watch tv anymore because I just don't want to follow the lives of a bunch of talentless strangers! These shows may well be cheap to produce & doesn't it display itself as such.The likes of Andy Williams truly entertained us in a way few can today! Rest In Peace,Sir.
