The only bad thing about this performance is that it's TOO SHORT! I absolutely love the way Tom Jobim looks Andy Williams dead in the eye when it's almost his time to come in.

Antonio tenía un rostro acariciante. Cada nota musical la sentíá en el alma. Para mí, él no esta muerto. Desde el momento que él está en mis recuerdo...VIVE!!
Que lindo lo que escribiste, el hombre no era humano, era de otro mundo por que los humanos no hacen música como la que él hizo. Un día charlando con Paulinho Braga me hablaba de lo maravilloso que era A.C. Jobim y lo lindo que fue tocar con él por más de 10 años. Lo iba a conocer en Diciembre del 94 pero desafortunadamente fue cuando el maestro partió, pero como decís vos él sigue vivo en mi mente y en mi corazón y para mi es lo máximo que existe en la música.
Te invito a que mires el video donde aparece C.A.Jobim y F.Sinatra. C.A. se mira exquisítamente bello. Es una lástima que el tiempo no perdona, pues físicamente ya no existe, solamente en el recuerdo. Pero gracias a la tecnología podemos disfrutar de su música cuando lo queramos.
Ya lo vi gracias es increible, se nota que tenes un gusto excepcional musicalmente, sabés que yo crescí con la bossa nova y con la musica de Tom....

Yes, indeed, he did... I've loved Andy Williams since I was a young teenager... the first thing I ever heard him do was Moon River and that was all she wrote... I was very sad when he died.

One of my greatest regrets in life was not being able to watch the great Antonio Carlos Jobim perform at the Caesars Palace in Ipanema in 1983. My trip there was postponed due to a bomb scare on the plane and for unknown reasons our stay was changed to the Meridien Copacabana. I have listened to his music since I was 17 thanks to my grandparents and I am from faraway Malaysia! This goes to say how far worldwide his music has enchanted everyone !
Greatest pop song ever written hands down.....such a treat to watch him do it live.
Right now I am 'that guy' in my dorm building. The only difference is that the music of choice is now Rap or Dubstep. So the contrast between the genres may be even starker than in your college days. I'm hoping it wears on them like it did you. Until then, I will continue to blast the Bossa Nova and Bobby Darin. Cheers and happy listening!

Thank you for posting -- what an incredible video. I have never seen ACJ sing before, and to pair him with a resplendent Andy Williams on his greatest song, at the near-height of the bossa nova era, is simply a treasure of music history.

Then there's the New World accents and different word usages even within the same countries. I heard Tom Jobim say "Ipan-E-ma" at a US concert, so I just enjoy this song which is truly the most famous in the world. Muito obrigado, meu Brasil!

What a fabulous treat to hear music like this! I grew up in the 60's listening to this sound all the time. I loved it then and I love it now. Bossa Nova is so romantic and smooth. And with these two talents performing it, you can't go wrong. Many, many thanks for the posting. I adore it.

You know....whether it's rock or country or whatever.....today they bring them on stage with this attitude that we should admire, worship and adore them........just because they are on the stage. Look at these guys....and other Andy clips with other entertainers.................they are just having a good time WITH US. They WERE huge stars of the time......but they didn't NEED to remind us of it.
