Things we learned this episode a) DTM prefers it in the back; b) he got a lump of bread c) still waiting for the free coffee at the end....wonderful! Can't wait for episode 3.
Great as usual, Danny. Murder?!? The mystery continues. And a soufflé is a baked egg based dessert. If it light an fluffy, perfection. I think I’d said a Grand Marnier ( gran mahnyey) is an orange liqueur. So an underlying orange flavor. The alcohol bakes out. A 9 means it was yummy. Usually it’s a dessert you order ahead as it takes time to bake and is brought out very warm. Looks like overall the meal was decent. Joe
Although I have been on many cruises have only gone with Carnival once. I wasn't impressed by the food back then and this video confirms it hasn't gotten any better since.
From what I can tell you don't go on Carnival for their main dining room food. It's more about the good times vibe and the quick service food like Guy's burgers or Chicken Shaq. That said, this particular ship was, if I recall correctly, rebranded from one of Carnival's Euro-based cruise lines, and I don't think it has any of that.
Omg Danny just love your vlog! Chef , next guess murderer! You cracked me up! Thank you for taking the time to share food and adventures. Travel safe. JoAnn Sigby
Been on many cruises, Carnival is the arm pit of cruising. MDR has been greatly cut back on quality and portion size. Not only that buffet and pizza times are reduced.
Great service on board and glad to see no lifeboat on balcony as in prior cruise. Noticed the beds are Two Twins pushed together any more Issues with this? Looking forward to next cruise update.
Filet mignon usually doesn't have a huge beef flavor due to the lack of intramuscular fat. It needs a good sear with a salt/pepper crust for extra flavor.
Yeah, lots of places put rice into their salt and even sugar to prevent clumping especially in a humid environment. And a ship is basically as humid as it gets, you know, being on the ocean and all :D
I've heard that people gain so much weight on cruises. With the portions they are serving you, it doesn't look like you need to worry about that at all.
The meat looks like it was cooked sous vide and finished in a pan or something. Which is pretty much expected in a cruise ship main dining room. As is the blandness - it's almost like there's a directive to not aggressively flavour the food.
At least the food looks better than the last cruise, so far. The meat looked better quality straight off the bat, so that's good - even if it had barely any taste. Which is weird, not sure how they managed that one. Unless it was sous vide and they didn't add much on the grill/flat top or whatever. That's the only thing I can think of really, other than just it was cooked with very bland seasonings if anything at all. And yet again, as usual, these cruises have good desserts. Go figure. I was on a cruise in 2007 or so, a Royal Caribbean ship and all I remember is the food was awesome. Both the sit-down restaurants and the buffet they had. I miss being on a cruise, getting away from everything, relaxing on a ship where you don't have to worry about anything. Ah, memories.
I would just point at everything in the menu. I'm not trying to pronounce the menu items lol... Seems like this food on this ship made a somewhat better impression on u than the other cruises... Yes? I hope so! The portion sizes are so dinky tho but I expect that in 'fine dining'. Their salt shakers could use some work tho lol. I've seen u use salt shakers that basically the salt pours out! Lol
lucky for me, I took along alot of entertainment in a 1TB drive and watched the stuff on my laptop. I would prefer the internet, but at their asking prices I just rather not. 10 days isnt unbearably long
Danny where did you steal that pen that’s in your shirt pocket. The steak you had for dinner did not have any flavor because it’s lab grown.(they like you cheap.) I like the black wedding ring you have on.
Danny, I will say this...I am sorry that it is now you are cruising. I did it back in the late 80s through the early 2000s. You were given a set time in the dining room, with the same people everyday, if you couldn't get a small table alone. There was never an extra charge for anything on the menu. What you saw, is what you could get. No extra. Watching this video, I can see they have lowered their standards. Carnival, always had the best food. Hands down. You ordered pretty much what I would have, and I can see that the portions were less. When the waiter served you the fish cake AND the filet the same time....If it were me, I would have dropped the beef, onto the floor. That was an unforgivable slam. Your dining time was late and most likely the last of the evening. No excuse for them doble serving.

Are you a chef? Next guess a murderer 😂😂😂

Yep.
Thanks for another interesting and entertaining video Danny.

I love how you never pay extra. Have adopted you philosophy. ❤🎉😊

Generally the better cut of beef 🥩 the less the flavor, thank you for vlogging Sir

That close up shot of that beef tho! 🤣🤣🤣
You crack me up!!
Omg Danny, you and that salt shaker killed me big hugs.😊
I hate sitting that close to people who aren't with me, might as well sit with a group.
Your killing me with your language ability😂😂😂😂😂that has to be one of flattest soufflé I have ever seen
Great service on board and glad to see no lifeboat on balcony as in prior cruise. Noticed the beds are Two Twins pushed together any more Issues with this? Looking forward to next cruise update.
bed was fine!
The food looked okay, were you still hungry after eating? The portions looked small. I hope they have a 24 hr snack/food area.
Food looks better than the MSC so far.
Not from the videos I saw from the last cruise 😂
Everything looked delish 😋
Lol had a great time
Diet portions, Carnival style..😂🎉😅😊
Oh i have to have butter on everything lol Escargot is one of my faves!
I also enjoy the interactions of Danny with the staff. Seeing that its the cold time of the year, I'm guessing DtM didn't ride the waterslides.
Delicious
Nasty looking beef!
Filet mignon usually doesn't have a huge beef flavor due to the lack of intramuscular fat. It needs a good sear with a salt/pepper crust for extra flavor.
Ohhh yeah!
Not a good sign when dessert is a 9 and the highlight of the meal. Is there a free room service option??
limited breakfast item only
Keeps it from clumping...😊
Yeah, lots of places put rice into their salt and even sugar to prevent clumping especially in a humid environment. And a ship is basically as humid as it gets, you know, being on the ocean and all :D
You ordered medium instead of medium rare again.😊 Enjoy your trip.
very good videos. Your bed mattress was extra firm or OK? thx.. Need to make decision to choose this ship or MSC out of brooklyn.
ughhhhh…. its like choosing between kicked in the left ball or kicked in the right ball
@dannythemedic Do you have to buy the WIFI package to use the APP for dining reservations and text?
no. app use is free
The escargot looked good.
When I go on carnival I love the fish cake and shrimp I did have to add salt and pepper
Danny is going to need to start a workout channel after all he's eating on this cruise. Looks like fun that ship is cool.
That beef looked tougher than a🥾 boot.😳
I always put 200 shakes of salt on my fish cake, and then I take the salt shaker apart and pour out half the salt. Every time.
I've heard that people gain so much weight on cruises. With the portions they are serving you, it doesn't look like you need to worry about that at all.
True. But you eat every 2 hours. 😂
Its a very cheap cruise for people that pay, thats why its small portions and avg quality
Is it unlimited how many Starters ,Main Courses and Desserts you can order?
says $5 for 3rd entree
$5 for the 3rd entree is a very reasonable price. I don’t think $5 will cover the food cost.😮

Only accessible when using their system. Otherwise must be on ship. 😊

Woop woop.
This here lump of bread 🤣🤣🤣🤣
4:17 my next guess would be… 🔪. 😂🤣😂🤣🤪
DTM, did some1 took a bit off that escogo bread . What's it like being alone on the cruise and No internet?
lucky for me, I took along alot of entertainment in a 1TB drive and watched the stuff on my laptop. I would prefer the internet, but at their asking prices I just rather not. 10 days isnt unbearably long
FILET MIGNON is supposed to be soft and buttery. I expected you to chew no more than 4 times. Your 7 rating is generous.
There is more cocktail sauce then shrimp on the plate.
Danny, if you get 3000+ points in the casino, ask the host for a steakhouse meal. You will like it.
16:37 Food and tra.... Food and travel guys. Food and travel.
salt grains caked together from the humid sea air?
oops, guess not
must be that the humid air was just at the holes where the salt stuck there and formed a seal of some kind
You might need a new salt. Next time ask waiter to bring out. 😊
You ordered the “medium” steak again? I thought you prefer “medium RARE” done on your steaks in Vegas restaurants.
If it’s not a high quality steakhouse it’s safer to order the steak cooked “medium” or “well done”
Danny where did you steal that pen that’s in your shirt pocket. The steak you had for dinner did not have any flavor because it’s lab grown.(they like you cheap.) I like the black wedding ring you have on.
the pen is from chase bank, they are very good pens
Do you think it is real meat?? Just asking!
Those shrimp looked too slimy for my taste (and small) 😮🍤
Lol 😂 no Bueno on French & Italian.
You didn’t say what you were thinking Danny when you looked at the second piece of beef? 🤷♂️
I wasn’t thinking anything. Why? Were YOU thinking something?
@@dannythemedic Nope not me 😉😉

😅 No salt for DTM.
Salt water guys.......Salt water.
DTM butchered the Italian language and sitting next to a chef. What are the odds.
What happen to the shrimp? Are kidding way to small to give as a shrimp cocktail

I dont do finger meanings. there is no meaning.
@@dannythemedic Bravo!
I see you’re wearing a ring. Did you get married?
its a novelty
WOW ! That food looks awful!😮
DTM, real chefs don’t get huge knife tattoos……which means he’s a
