    Great perspective in comparing the two games. Hopefully Scarlet and Violet will build up more on what SWSH and Legends Arceus has established for newer gen Pokemon games, as BDSP seems to have regressed on the engine that SWSH has used.

      Though it is glitchier and it does have quite a lot of flaws, it is still one of the best in story out of all the 9 gens IMO. Gameplay wise, I'm still thankful that they built up upon the engine that was used on Arceus, though it is sad that they didn't polish it before it was released making it a solid A+ game. Right now, feeling a bit bummed with the glitches, but still enjoyable and can't deny the nostalgia factor, so can give it a mid/upper B for the overall rating. Once glitches and performance issues are fixed, then it can be a solid A.

    Honestly, SWSH feels like It’s made for kids who can’t remember that they need to do every 5 min.
    I had BDSP chose to get SWSH while waiting for violet, SWSH is not a bad game but it holds your hand really tight and a lot of cutscenes. @@GameGuy53 Yeah. The BW remake should be interesting! That series has one of my favorite starters and of course I can't use it on the switch at all.
      I really do understand that it's burdensome to have a complete national pokedex available in a game like this with with over a thousand different creatures, but the first slogan and driving force was 'gotta catch 'em all!' and that's what many bought into. Now with new additions and competitive it would be spectacular to mix the old and the new in interesting new combinations! I honestly don't buy the line that in competitive people if given the choice people will stick with the old and not try the new, that's never happened, and I can't imagine that happening now.

    I know SWSH has some flaws. But still. It is the most fun I have ever had in a pokemon game in a loving time. Ever Since I played Pokepark as a kid.
    I also prefer SWSH before Let's Go. Let's go was really fun. But the world building and routes made the experience worse. Especially sinse I got lost all the time in my first playthrought. Same thing with brilliant Diamond. I had a hard time traversing the landscape. In 3d and fast travel points in Sword and Shield made it a lot more enjoyable.
    Even though I can se why some don't like it being linier. I wouldn't mind it getting less linier. But pls give me a good map and fast travel points. I am terrible at knowing where I am going.
    Even after all of that.
    The biggest reason I love SWSH more. Is bc of the convince of making battles easier. And that's also why I think SWSH is Legends Arceus. I just love to battle and show of my shiny. And Legends didn't have that. But BDSP is just a pain bc of all the traversing and work you need to just get a TM. They did the right choice to get infinite TMs. They are so useful.
    Just sad it is hard to fight in my favourite pokemon Region. As I love the pokemon there. Especially Honchcrow, Missmagius, Gliscor and Hounddoom. I love their designs.
    I do admit I was a bit frustrated at the dexit at first. But yeah not now. I had a blast. And the format then the Legendarys wasn't introduced into the game was so much fun. The battles was so diverse. And I so hope they'll do it in gen 9. Cause if it is one thing I hate then battling is Legendary spam.
    But only thing I hope they'll change is the 20 minute timer. Come gamefreak. Let me make a theme team if I want. The only thing conserving SWSHs battles that such is just the 20 minute timer. Hopefully gamefreak will hear our calls.
    I love SWSH I still xomw back to it bc the battles are so fun. Story is OK. World design looks amazing. Only ground textures look very bad. Same as Legends. Trees are OK. Never bothered me. Just the ground textures.
    I hope in the future SWSH is gonna get better appreciation.
    Good luck k trainers!

I really love the set chance they give you of encountering what you want in the grass, because it just makes it so much more fun and involving. Although there arent as many Pokemon implemented into pearl and diamond, I just find it so much more enjoyable due to it's "limitability". I find it's camera view more complimenting and nostalgic and fun compared to freedom like in sword and shield. Of course, im not just trying to bash sword and shield into the dirt, its not like BDSP is perfect, it has its fair share of mistakes and flaws. I like to consider myself an adventurous person in general, and it's not like im afraid to try SWSH, i've played for my cousin on his switch, because he was stuck and he knew I had more experience. (I knew what type advantages were other then fire water ground and grass, lol). Of course, I only played for maybe an hour, but from what I gathered, I didnt really like it very much. It all just seems to... modern. Of course, modern is good, what else is there to advance without any advancements? However, it just was lacking the nostalgia for me. That may not be important to some people, but it is to me. It's like taking the switch over something like the Wii U, or a 3ds. The Switch is much more advanced with more convenient and better features, but its just missing some kind of nostalgia. Whether that's the settings menu, console size, home screen music, or even just the old features themselves, whatever it is to you that changes it, thats pretty much all I need to be on board. When it comes to features and accessibility and development, thats going to SWSH. I wont fight that its a better game in general compared to BDSP. However, I just like the features and design of BDSP more. So therefore, i'll be getting BDSP for Christmas.

      I think your opinion makes perfect sense! I agree completely that I’m in for Pokémon no matter what - I think even though it’s easy to point out differences between each game and pick the ones I like better, the one thing that’s always true for me is that I get addicted to any new Pokémon game I try, regardless of whether it’s one of the “better” ones (I’m currently addicted to Scarlet/Violet). The Pokémon formula is just so strong. BDSP is a great game, and I really enjoyed my time with it. I hope you do too!

      I think any of the mainline offerings on the Nintendo Switch would be solid first Pokemon experiences! A 10-year-old would probably enjoy starting with the modern era, so I would recommend either Sword/Shield, or Scarlet/Violet which just came out this week. Scarlet/Violet has a lot of open space to explore, which I think would be fun for someone who enjoys roblox!

    Regarding the drop of the national dex, at first I was completely against it, now I'm actually both against how they are doing it and for stopping it. I'll explain.
    With black and white that was an amazing refresh, everything was a surprise. I have favourite pokemon that are being ignored now though in favour of the same old pokemon that are in EVERY game, it's tired.
    I think they need to look at the pokemon they KEEP putting in the games and completely remove them, and after what I said about BW, maybe they could even use that as the starting point for any pokemon to be included, it would definitely make it fresher, they could bring back pokemon from the DS and 3DS gens that have never got a chance to be in another game at all. I'm sick of seeing Psyduck all the time, do we really need Gengar in yet another game, imagine a world without the magnezone line and hell I'm even sick of seeing Pikachu all the time when they could give Togedemaru, Emolga, Morpeko, Dedenne a chance to shine and the love deserved with a surprise evolution.
    When so many pokemon appear so frequently in the games it just looks like a fall back for when they can't be bothered thinking or putting effort in. The new regional variants and such would even be better for freshness if they were to insist on using the aforementioned pokemon yet again, why not have a Slyduck/Scolduck Dark/Psychic type, an evolution to Wigglytuff like Bigglyruff, a swole Snorlax idk, just newness

    • @GameGuy53
      @GameGuy53  Год назад +1

      This is a really good point - I think you’re absolutely right on everything here. If they’re gonna drop the full national dex, they better make sure they are using a fair and varied rotation in each new game.
      However I don’t think we’ll ever see a Pokémon game without Pikachu, even though that would be interesting.

    • @shortbreadhead
      @shortbreadhead Год назад

      @@GameGuy53 I completely agree that there's probably little chance there will be a mainline game without Pikachu in it, however I feel like there's merit for them to give that idea a chance at this point for a couple of reasons. It would both be an indication to customers that they no longer feel the need to rely on a mascot to sell the game for what it is and for them it would be a realisation that they have so many other pokemon and features that could be expanded upon but were neglected. By that I mean when they realise they don't need these fall backs anymore they can trust completely in the product over the gimmick, free up space for the upset mons stuck in older games or to return to things they didn't continue to flesh out.
      Also like I said about Togedemaru and such, I'd love so much to see them in the spotlight either getting evolutions or regional variants. It's probably weird but I actually love both Togedemaru and Emolga (Emolga because I love sugargliders, Togedemaru was just kind of interesting and I thought had potential) so to see them ignored is a shame

    • @GameGuy53

      I would say so if you can find it for a decent price. It’s definitely unique compared to the others since its catching mechanics are more like Pokémon Go, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it does it’s job as a nostalgic trip through the Kanto region!

    I haven't watched this video yet, so I figured it's time to share my opinion. I personally believe swsh to be the superior game cause I actually finished it. That sound stupid but bdsp failed to keep me entertained long enough to start the league, I'm planning to finish it soon (once I get through the damn training I have to do) but I think swsh is more balanced cause I nearly lost to every gym leader except roark and actually lost to Maylene and Cynthia's perfect IV garchomp (I haven't fought the league yet but I watched ALOT of videos), that may have been my fault for not training but it was really boring. The story is pretty bad in swsh but I'm more into catching and battling anyway.

    The wild area was literally the safari zone, expanded somewhat but at the same time trying to accommodate too much -- too many gens at once -- and it wound up being a big field with no thematics.
