I just turned 16, and I'm on the exact same path as this kid once was. My doctor told me at my last check-up that if I don't have some sort of surgical intervention, I WILL be blind with the next 5 years. Luckily there is a procedure called corneal collagen crosslinking, but sadly it's not covered by insurance yet. It's going to cost our family $7,000-$8,000. I'll actually be getting the procedure done in about 5 days.
I have Keratoconus and Dr. Boxer Wachler saved my eyesight! To hear that you are going blind is a very scary, isolating feeling but the micracle work Dr. Wachler is doing is very freeing!
I just had my cross linking done about three weeks ago, along with some sort of laser surgery to minimize the power difference between my two eyes. Keratoconus is a scarh condition, if not treated i would have been blind in the next two years in my right eye. This surgery is a miracle.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!! So happy for this kid and his family!!! I have keratoconus in my left eye and this gives me hope!!!!!! LOVE IT! I thought it was great the good Doc answered this man's letter. JUST AWESOME!!!! :)
Thank you Dr Wachler, I'm in the process of sending my medical records. I'm keeping in contact with your staff, they're really nice and have sent me more information. Thank you:)
This video definitely brought me to tears. I have been suffering from Keratoconus for 3-4 years now, I'm really tired of feeling limited and not being able to do what I used to do, drive, read from afar, see people's faces:'( thank you for this success story, it has really given me hope:) I'm excited to contact Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler. I too, want my vision back so I can continue my life:)
It's been 2 years since I had my procedure done and my vision is stable it's not the best but it's better than being blind. I'm a gamer and without my vision, I don't know what I'd be doing now if I didn't have this done in time :)
@2454014 Holcomb C3-R's main goal is to stabilize vision and the Keratoconus. Often it will be combined with Intacs and other procedures to IMPROVE vision and allow people to regain their lives again.
I recently been diagnosed with Keratoconus. overall I can see with glasses and have no other signs of keratoconus but my eye glasses prescription is changing every 2 months. my right eye vision decreased from -5.25 to -7.75 in past 8 months and now is affecting my left eye. it also decreased from -4.75 to -5.25. I been visiting the eye spcialists here in New York from past 8 months but could not find a valid solution. one of the doctors advised me to go for Cross Linking but I got afraid because she said I might lose my vision a bit. it might go from 20/20 to 20/40. please help me. I have kids and family to support but right now afraid of loosing my vision. after months of browsing on internet I found Your self Dr. Brian. please give me a hope of life. thanks
+basharat Bhatti Please call Dr. Brian's office to speak with his very helpful staff about how your can be helped. The office is 310-860-=1900. Please visit www.KeratoconusInserts.com for more information as well.
I have Karataconus.. and I've had a transplant on the right eye and now my left is needing done.. what I'm finding on line is that the Cross linking only stops the progression but doesn't not correct. I do receive Dr. Brian's letters in the mail.. but I know he is in California.. who much does the procedure cost? Can I get it done here in FL?
I have this problem with my eyes and it bugs me a lot I went to my eye doctor and he said I need surgery to fix my vision but he said it will cost around 3, 000. I want to know how much does it cost for Holcomb C3-R? Also where are you located? Thanks Doctor Brian
Hey, bakalakastan. I noticed this comment and it´s 10 months old you said you´ll be receiving the Cornreal Collagen crosslinking operation, how did it go for you? how is your vision? I´m asking because I´m 15 and I have just found out I have this disorder. ) :
Hi i am currently having Keratoconus in my right eye, got it checked via some ORB scan. Doctor prescribed me for C3R procedure, but it says the bulging will stop in my right eye, but what about the vision, how i'll get my vision better? Right now i have -1.50 power at 70 degree in my right eye. Also if i go for C3R, what post operational care is required and for how long?
I have been struggling with this condition for over 20 years. I was wearing hard gas permeable lenses, and then the Hybrid lenses. The Hybrid lenses are not effective for me, but cause me more heartache. This is impeding my studies, and work.
I wish someone could help me. I'm wearing hybrid lens which are suppose to be the best but they irritate so much. My doctor only tried to refit them which isn't helping. I don't want a transplant. I wish I could see this doctor because I do not know what else to do.
I've had keratoconus for 5-6 years now in my left eye, causing it to cross inward in the past weeks. Its hindered me in every way possible. Its ruined my dream of joining the military and people now look at me differently because of the crossed eyeness. My new goal is to save up $20,000 so I can afford this treatment. Good luck to me working at walmart.
I have KC in both eyes and had them treated by Dr. Brian last year and so far no progression has been detected. It is good that they are getting the word out to the general public because so many people have no idea about it. I went to multiple eye doctors for over a year before Dr. Manger properly diagnosed my KC. It is so sad that your average eye doctor doesn't actually check for this disease and that even tue ones who do are about 20 years behind the times. Go to Dr Brian Boxer Wachler. The
I have exactly the same problem I'm blind in the right eye and I can see a little bit under left eye and they told me to do cross linking treatment maybe to stop it but I'm worried I be blind in good after treatment please can some body tell some thing about treatment I even look like this guy in the video that's so crazy
+Omer S The CXL crosslinking treatment is extremely invasive with many documented complications. People prefer the non-invasive Holcomb C3-R Crosslinking System since it's non-invasive with just a 1 day recovery. More info here www.keratoconusinserts.com/c3-r-cxl-crosslinking.html
sir i m 23 and my keratoconus is progressing and i m going to do c3r treatment this friday...i want to know that sir will the progression stop after doing c3r???? please reply
Ridib you would you need to discuss this with your doctor; I do not know the statistics of success with the treatment your doctor is performing; in our office 99.3% of patients treated are stabilized with one treatment
I have this illness in both of my eyes too, more so in my left eye and getting worse in my right. I can't stand the rigid contact lenses, they hurt and irrate a lot, but being in the UK your choices are literally corneal graft or rigid contacts. It's so depressing. I can't do the things normal people do, I can't drive, I can't work. It just depresses the fuck out of me.
The good news is Dr. Brian is one of the world's experts in Keratoconus and he can likely help you. For further information on options to help your Keratoconus, please call his office at 310-860-1900. Thank you.
Please know Dr. Brian can very likely help you as he's literally helped thousands of patients with Keratoconus. Please call the office for information about his procedures and how they can help - 310-860-1900. Thank you.
If you would like to see if you're a candidate, Dr. Brian can do a record review to see if you'd be a candidate. Please call the office at 310-860-1900 for information about having a complimentary record review.
This is a badly overpriced. Procedure in Europe costs 800-1000$, so for 3-4 grand you can have a nice trip to Europe and do the cross-linking. Best wishes.

Does cross-linking actually improves the vision and makes it better? or just stabilize it?
