I came here to comment on how wrong this video was... then I watched it. As a former Respiratory Therapist, I'm more familiar with an AMBU bag than any nurse on Earth (I've used them--literally--thousands of times, on patients ranging from premature births to geriatrics); however, this nurse knows what she's doing. Her technique is spot on. At the end, she was confusing in her commentary, making it sound as if a person in "full arrest" only needs two breaths from the bag; she's talking about initial breaths, because sometimes the initial breaths trigger autonomic breathing. The respiratory rate depends on a lot of factors, but you're safe if you keep it to 15 BPM (one every four seconds) until the patient can get to a hospital and have an arterial blood gas drawn. And if your hands are large enough (if you're a man), you can squeeze the bag to deliver bigger breaths rather than press down on it. Inhalation should take one second, then give 3 seconds for exhalation.
I sometimes get laryngospasm and cannot inhale. So far I have not lost consciousness, but it gets close. Can I use an ambu bag ON MYSELF to force air into my lungs?
try to clear the airway, it's useless to move the blood around the body (chest compression) without any oxygen as it picks up oxygen in the lungs while circulating
one of the most biggest lie it's only for CPR critically injured patient rescue breathing yes and after surgery butt how about lowering blood pressure faster because of one thing the patient might not cooperate the lungs might not cooperate if you give him or her a oxygen mask they're probably having outright panic attack it should be a choice lab patient you can't just say all that's restricted cuz you can't bring nobody back by using the damn thing so if anybody has a disagreement with that Google me but the only thing about that is I live once I die once if you cannot bag me while I'm living don't do it when I'm dead
First of all, that was the least literate comment I've ever read on RUclips by someone with an English/American name. Can I assume you are in junior high, at least? Secondly, you have no idea what you're talking about. Best to stay silent than to broadcast your ignorance.
Great work, i appreciate it.
So helpful! Thank you!
Please open the airway...

Should chest compressions go with it if breathing has stopped?
Only if the heart has stopped, too.
