  • I've been waiting for nearly a year to get my hands on one of these Husqvarna K535i battery powered cut off saws! After using gas powered cut off saws for years I was ready for a change to something lighter and easier to transport. I tried and saw other brands in action, but the K535i had the best combination of weight, balance, cutting depth, power, and after sales support, which were all the main things I was looking at when making this purchase. The Husqvarna K535i has the combination of a slim design and great balance to make it feel a bit lighter than it really is and very easy to maneuver. Even with the large BLi 300 battery in it the Husqvarna K535i still has a great balance to it. The K535i features one of Husqvarna's in house built sealed brushless electric motors that are seemingly bullet proof. The intuitive keypad is very simple and basic with a POWER button, save mode button, and 3 indicator lights that signal power is on, save mode is on, or that there is an error. Since the K535i is a part of Husqvarna's professional line of products, it will only work with their professional batteries. This means you need to use the gray batteries (BLi200, BLi200X, & BLi300) and not the orange batteries (BLi20 & BLi30). The saw comes with a 9 inch diamond blade. The K535i uses an electric brake system so even with the cutting wheel spinning at maximum RPM's, the cutting wheel will come to a complete stop within 3.1 seconds of leaving off the trigger.

At the end of your video what did you use between the concrete to protect the wire from being pinched? I just had 2 wires pinched from concrete shifting with frost and it was a nightmare to find and i would so like to avoid that risk again

We take out the material in the expansion joint, run a bead of caulk, then insert the wire, then add more caulk/sealant on top of the wire. If you do this at the expansion joint it is usually a pretty large gap so no worries of pinching the wire. I also try to cut either end of the seem at an angle towards the ground to eliminate a sharp edge on the cement.
