Oh my word! What beautiful scenery and the time lapse of the night sky was perfection. Thanks so much for all the work you are putting into this travel journal.
It appears to have been a gamble that paid off well! Thanks for this! I love these videos you have put together. It is like you are a video journalist who's talents are surpassing the likes of Marty Stauffer. Please continue to post these for all to see and appreciate, like me!
What I always find amazing is that the vast majority of folks will never wander far from the "marked" path for something, even in nature sites where 500m away there can be something equally beautiful and totally isolated. Hell, I'd rather get the slightly-less-than-perfect view alone than the perfect one with 1000 strangers screaming around me.
did you test out the water, it's not too bad this time of year.... ;-) sounds like you're really enjoying our scenery and our wildlife, once you get past Medicine Hat you pretty much want to floor it until you get into Northern Ontario unless you want to see all the various grain fields. enjoy and drive carefully....moose and elk up ahead!
Well this answers one of the questions I never thought I'd find out. I once saw a DVD of Canadian scenery & that Hotel was on it. It wasn't labelled & I always wondered where it was. Now I know:)
I used to work up north in alberta and the northern lights are just fantastic. I hope thunderfoot can get to were he can enjoy them. I know winter is much better though.
I hope you're enjoying Alberta. :) It's weird, such a small world. Anyway, there is a lot to see around there... I hope you have time and can avoid the crowds.
Mr. Thunderf00t the tracks you use are great, it would be great if you named them in your comments because its driving me nuts every time i hear a track i know iv heard but cant place it at all or know who made it! that first track is really playing on my mind could you enlighten me? great video im very jealous. hope u post a road trip of the UK up sometime..
If you haven't been there you shouldn't talk. That hotel was built up by CNR as part of the railroad as a rest stop for those building it and using it, the railway runs through the mountains and into Vancouver and took a lot of years to create, they needed places to stay. It is a beautiful part of the area. You are in the middle of a huge national park. You wouldn't even know it was there and there is nothing else for miles and miles. It doesn't destroy anything. It is amazing.
Not sure about the first but the song when he starts flying is a song called "Innocente" with Delerium. From the album "Poem". Not sure which remix it is, though.
6:10 lol it looked like to ran over the little girl LOL., such a beautiful place, I must go on a road trip when pass my driving test & build up my portfolio.
I'm pretty sure the hotel Chateaus Lake Louise in the video was where Stephen King got the inspiration for the Shining. I stayed there once on a snowboarding trip.
Nope, it's not a myth. He spoke about it in one of his older videos and for alot of his timelapses he uses a webcam connected to a netbook which make it take a picture periodically.
even if the shutter dies (and Ive had 2 die on me), you can just send them back to canon and get a new one installed. If its under warranty its free, else its about a hundred bux.
Lots of glacial milk in the lake Tf. Number of lakes around here that look the same but the lucky thing is no resorts at the head of them so you can spend most of the day without seeing another living soul.
If you don't use a first person point of view to fly the plane, why bother with the radio gear. Just put an HD flip video camera on there and point it in the direction you turn. Or, mount it up higher and point it slightly down. Or, put the lens in the nose with a cage around it if it doesn't screw up your CG too much. Or, have the directional servo stick it out the bottom of the plane instead, and retract it again before landing. HD would be GREAT, and you wouldn't need as much gear.
Amasing how many outstanding natural wonders people will destroy in the name of making a quick buck - as if the only point of the wilderness is to supply a pretty backdrop to the hotel swimming pool.
Are you Going or have you already Gone to Yoho National Park and seen the Burgess Shale? Thunderfoot, Please visit and and capture your thoughts on video if you have not done so or cannot receive impassioned requests. You Owe It to Yourself. The Burgess Shale, The Record of the Cambrian Explosion. I am simply jealous you are a stones throw away and I want to be there.
You should take heed to smart gentlemen like FRANKSVOICE. He made a video where you were HIT by the WORD. Except Frank is mistaken in using a Bible. He needs to see the wisdom in Islam, the true Religion.

I loved the song at the end. I'm gonna lose you. Great metaphore for getting rid of the tourist crowd one way or another
Simply Gorgeous!
I live so close and yet have never gone. I think I will need to plan a road trip.
Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Woohoo you're in Canada!!! I lived in Banff for
over a year when I was 20!
It's been just over ten years since I've been to Lake Louise. I must go back!

I got Married at the Banff Springs, and HoneyMooned at the Crown Suite at Lake Louise. Awesome view, great Vid.
Wow, I really enjoyed this vid. It's really awesome. The lake is really scenic, really fantastic.
I used to work up north in alberta and the northern lights are just fantastic. I hope thunderfoot can get to were he can enjoy them. I know winter is much better though.
Nice selection of music. Looks like a great trip.
Great videos, Thunderf00t! Thanks for sharing.

The thumbnail for this video would make an awesome wallpaper. :)

Outstanding.
is that a nikon d40? is that what you use for the timelapses?
if so, do use a software to shoot the camera?
sorry for asking so much.
Hope you enjoyed yourself in my neck of the woods. I live very close to Lake Louise
Not sure about the first but the song when he starts flying is a song called "Innocente" with Delerium. From the album "Poem". Not sure which remix it is, though.

lol, no I left from home to go out west when
I was 20. Sorry about the poorly constructed
sentence.
amazing!
Haha, Nice choice of music at the end.
What happened with the car problem? Radiator or AC fluid?
Fair enough. But why do you not extend this to the others who responded to TC?
Cool video
Tf00t, if you get the chance head to Drumheller, it is one of the best natural history museums in the world.
nice vid of the starts man
On the contrary, it is the PERFECT place to troll. All you guise proved me right :D
Does he or will he post a list of music he uses for his cluster of video for this trip?
Oh cool! People!
Southern sun - by Paul Oakenfold
You Take My Breath Away - by Sureal
Both Dj Tiesto remixed versions I believe.
Classical, I would have thought. E.S Posthumous or X-Ray Dog are good classical bands.
The attention, I mean. Not the sentiment.
You were 20 for over a year??
No problem. Consider my hat lifted.
Nope, it's not a myth. He spoke about it in one of his older videos and for alot of his timelapses he uses a webcam connected to a netbook which make it take a picture periodically.
They don't call him Thunderf00t for nothing.
well I meant, woohoo you were in Canada
anyway. Have to catch up now and see
whereabouts you are currently.
even if the shutter dies (and Ive had 2 die on me), you can just send them back to canon and get a new one installed. If its under warranty its free, else its about a hundred bux.
Did anyone else see what looks like a geo-stationary satellite?
this hotel is there for almost 30 years
T_T i missed you in calgary
epic
I hope you get far enough north to record the northern lights.....

Doesn't that lake just scream "swim in me"?
