As a guy who grew up watching Looney Tunes, I have pretty much always considered Bugs Bunny to be the greatest cartoon character of all time, and I'm glad that both WatchMojo and TV Guide share my opinion.
These are the cartoons kids today should be at least introduced to. If they don't like them that is fine but I think having an exposure to classics like Looney Tunes are something I hope kids should appreciate. If only for the fact that without it cartoons of today may not exist
Looney tunes still airs on boomerang all the time. Don't worry man, the legacy is still going my nephew, niece, and their friends all watch looney tunes, Tom and Jerry, and Scooby Doo thanks to boomerang.
+Tyler Ensminger Tbh, i'm much more surprised that the looney tunes franchise itself hasn't really gone sour for many decades now. Somehow, WB has managed to keep the ideas for the characters fresh while still managing to keep to that same classic feel or touch (in which Disney has pretty much left that now), all the way up to the Rabbit's Run film that spun off from The Looney Tunes Show but like one of the commenters in here have said, cartoon network is doing a decent job with showing all of their past cartoon gems on the Boomerang channel. So it's likely that many kids today will still be exposed to ones like Looney Tunes as long as the tv channel exists. but i heard boomerang is also bringing out their stuff more online now too along with an app for smartphones to watch classic cartoons.
I was born in 1994 and I remember watching looney tunes all the time on Cartoon Network on Saturday’s. This was the early 2000s but lots of great memories. I hope Cartoon Network still shows them, and not newer versions. But the golden era ones with Tex Avery and chuck jones and all the other classic directors
This is probably the most informative 107 Facts I've ever seen. Most of them are of cartoons for which I know all the interesting trivia, but diving into the history of what might be the greatest cartoon franchise of all time was a treasure trove of interesting knowledge and tidbits. I definitely hope you do 107 more facts. You can get into some of the other, less well known characters, or one-off cartoons that don't feature famous characters but are super famous anyways, like 'Hollywood Steps Out' and 'The Dover Boys of Pimento U'.
My fave Looney Tunes character is Pepe Le Pew hands down. The "locksmith of love" is one of the most confident, unshakeable characters in the cartoon kingdom, and his persistence in chasing after Penelope Cat in spite of all obstacles (language barriers, species incompatibility, his general, ahem, "stink" problem) has been very inspiring to me in my own times of trial. Not to mention that cute little hop he always does during a passionate chase! He might be a pretty bad role model these days, but I still love the little guy til death do us part.
Same. Pepe le Pew was actually my first piece of media from France that isn't Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir. There's a fact I heard that when Looney Tunes cartoons are dubbed in French, Pepe is Italian. And people should know that thanks to Pepe, most people use male skunks as Pepe and want to pair a female tuxedo cat with it as Penelope.
mine is daffy duck. he is awesome, he has some classic shorts, and he is so hilarious. my 2nd is speedy gonzales. he is quick, like sonic the hedgehog. who do you think would win? sonic or speedy? in a future looney tunes reboot, speedy should have a role as a genius like dexter from dexter's laboratory.
There was a VHS tape called "Happy Birthday Bugs: 50 Looney Years" that was created in 1990 as a memorial of Mel Blanc. It had a lot of Celebrity Cameos.
Wow there were some elements about Looney tunes I didn't even know about ( even as an adult). Thanks, frederator. You made me love Looney tunes even more.
You're a channel based around animation, and you've been doing these videos for, oh, I don't know, 3 years I think. And just until now, you finally decided to do Looney Tunes.
They're playing to a crowd that grew up with Nick Toons. The classic stuff won't generate that much interest. I'd love to see more classic stuff. How about another frederator channel for the classic stuff?
I think they should do more videos on classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the 50s and 60s (besides Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry despite how much I love the latter)
I've suggested Johnny Quest, preferably with Tim Matheson reading the 107 facts. I mean, there's a whole documentary about the show you can use to make the facts. But still, how many RUclips viewers would even care?
As a kid, I used to watch Looney Tunes every day, laughing at all the slapstick humor that it provided. I became so fascinated that I would always get excited whenever I knew one of their cartoons was about to be shown. I was introduced to characters ranging from Daffy Duck to Porky Pig, and eventually the likes of Bugs Bunny. And to this day, I still enjoy these cartoons whenever I can.
This video is so awesome! I smiled when you mentioned Road Runner, Speedy Gonzales, my childhood favorite movie of the Looney Tunes series "Looney Tunes Back in Action" and even my favorite TV show of all time "Wabbit" (or right now, New Looney Tunes).
New Looney Tunes actually has watchable episodes. The reason I went on searching for these is because CN will never play this series or the original Looney Tunes because of their overdependence on Teen Titans Go! Enjoy. plus.google.com/collection/AhulJE
Just got home from soccer, and I see a fredarotor episode in my notifications, and I have to watch it! I love this show! I love the 107 facts! #notificationSquad
One thing that was interesting was during World War Two Bugs Bunny was enlisted in the Marines. During the war the military worked along side the animators in the studios often working on training films and propaganda projects. Chuck Jones stated they decided to have Bug enlist in the Marines and so they wrote up enlistment papers for him and even got his paw prints on the documents and he went in as a private (buck-toothed probably) and came out a master sergeant.
Fact 108: an animator of Space Jam, Korey Coleman, is the genius behind Spill Archive and Double Toasted. Go check them out immediately, he's a really awesome dude and their show is hilarious.
Man, feeling the nostalgia vibe right now. I love the remake of looney tunes and wabbit (new looney tunes) and the old ones too, especially episodes with Bugs, Fudd, Daffy or Sam as the main characters. I also like their silent episodes with Wile E. and Road Runner. Been looking forward to this for a long time. Thanks for bringing that up!
Olusegun Odunlami Looney Tunes is not on Boomerang (Only Wabbit episodes 16-19, 23-present) and Tom and Jerry is not on Boomerang (Only The Mansion Cat and The Tom and Jerry Show 2014 which will be on Boomerang this fall).
I wonder why new episodes from season 2 of Tom and Jerry Show haven't aired in the US yet but have aired in other countries including Brazil and the UK I think?

Channel Frederator What's up, Doc? Another great video, Keep it up. Can you guys please do a couple of 107 fact videos on Canadian cartoons like the Raccoons, Zeroman, and Delilah and Julius? Uh theh uh theh uh theh, uh That's All, Folks!
OMG Yes!!!! THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD!!! I love you guys. Thanks so much for doing this. 😘😁😁 Kids will never understand how lit this show was back then. 😁😁 My favorite character was Bugs Bunny, his upbeat personality and funny sarcasm made me love him instantly. Although, Yosemite Sam is a close 2nd, he is the one that made keep you watching thinking he might curse by accident. HAHA. 😂😂
Excellent video. Very interesting, informative and worthwhile video. A must see video for all cartoon and animation enthusiasts. Leon Schlesinger also produced six very early John Wayne Westerns during the early 1930s.
My favorite gags have got the be the setup of: 1) You know what's going to happen and what to expect 2) See the action in motion 3) Completely do a 180 with an expected twist These are usually the gags in Wile E Coyote & Roadrunner bits. Cracks me up everytime!!
I watched the entire series in Latin Spanish ! Hey kept the original songs (no translations) which was genius! Aww so many good memories from Bugs Bunny :)
Personally, I like the Looney Tunes as a piece of animation history. When people think of Golden Age cartoons, or animation projects from Warner Brothers, they are much more likely to think of the Looney Tunes. Of course I have seen plenty of Looney Tunes projects, and I will say there are a couple of cartoons I genuinely like. My personal favorite Looney Tune is Daffy Duck, because not only do I wish he could win more often, but I actually see a little of myself in him. Tweety Bird is a close second, because he is very cute. Two more favorites include the cowboy looney tune Yosemite Sam and the Spanish looney tune Speedy Gonzales. Yes, I can see why people like Bugs Bunny, and there are a few of his cartoons I like myself (especially from the book of 50 Greatest Cartoons), but I just prefer Daffy Duck to Bugs Bunny. One last thing, I have a few fond memories of the Looney Tunes Show from 2011, but I guess I would prefer the Golden Age cartoons over the television project.
Gonna clear up a common misconception right here: yes, What's Opera Doc actually WAS submitted to the Academy for consideration. No, it still wasn't nominated. No, that doesn't even make a little sense (Duck Amuck suffered the same fate).
Question: Cartoon Network never officially canceled the Looney Toons Show and could still bring it back, why revert everything to a lower quality like Wabbit?
Fact 35: Well, that explains why Daffy's bill is removable, and why in a special short, we see him speaking with a mouth that is actually under the bill when he removes it.
My favorite Looney Tune? Of the more main characters, it’s a tie between Pepe and Speedy. Of the more minor characters, it’s Pussyfoot. I adore that little kitten!
Merrily We Roll Along it's been bugging me for years that I didn't know the name of that song even when you put captions on the television it still says the Merry-Go-Round broke down I'm like no that's a different song. What's weird is this the same tune as Mary had a little lamb its just been up so fast that it's hard to recognize it I haven't recognized it for years
Full Voice Cast: The Golden Age Mel Blanc: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Sylvester Cat, Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam, Speedy Gonzales, The Tazmanian Devil, Wile E Coyote, Foghorn Leghorn, Pepe Le Pew, Claude Cat, Papa Bear, Bertie the Mouse, Mac the Gopher, Gossamer, Marc Anthony, Marc's Baby Cat, Ralph Wolf, Sam Sheepdog, Beaky Buzzard, Multiple Males - June Foray: Granny, Witch Hazel, Multiple Females - Arthur Q Bryan: Elmer Fudd, Multiple Males - Stan Freberg: Junior Bear, Hubie the Mouse, Tosh the Gopher, Multiple Males - Bea Benaderet: Mama Bear, Little Red Riding Hood, Marc Anthony's Owner, Multiple Females - Billy Bletcher: Multiple Males - Hal Smith: Elmer Fudd (after Arthur Q Bryan Died), Multiple Males - Sara Berner: Mother Buzzard, Multiple Females - Paul Julian: The Road Runner - Bill Roberts: Michigan J Frog
I absolutely love this list. It's super informative and fun to listen to. Though I would like to notate a few of the facts that were mentioned in this list have since changed. While "Wabbit" is a current TV show iteration of Bugs Bunny, new classic shorts featuring bugs Bunny and the other Looney Tunes, have been created and are streaming on HBO Max. The shorts mimic the early days of Looney tunes with similar styles to that of Leon Schlesinger, Chuck Jones, Bob McKinson, and Tex Avery. Also the voice of Speedy Gonzalez is currently voiced by none other than Gabriel Iglesias. Iglesias was asked to voice the character after posting a tweet with the statement of "U can't catch me cancel culture." Followed by a gif of Speedy Gonzales. Iglesias stated that he was a huge fan of Speedy Gonzales as a child, and was particularly upset to hear that cancel culture was attempting to have the character removed from then upcoming space jam movie, Space Jam Legacy. So he posted the tweet as an act of protest, against the characters removal. Fortunately for us that our fans of Speedy Gonzalez and Gabriel Iglesias we got a two for one.
Love the bit. Most of the facts I did know. I grew up watching over and over all of them. Even the ones that were blatantly racist before they were yanked. Thanks to RUclips now I can watch all of them again uncut...
they forgot to mention that mel blanc took over as the voice of elmer fudd sporadically in 1943, 1950, 1957, and then pretty much permanently from 72 to 89
You missed the scandal associated with Elmer dreaming he was a gorgeous woman walking down 5th and Vine where the wolves pop out of the street sign. Originally, the wolves howled,"How old is she?". But later it was changed to "Ah-who-ga!" When TBS bought the original uncensored WB catalog and aired them (after 11pm in their attempt to create a TBS Adult Swim), I was shocked.
Mr. Kellogg (below): I use Pepe Lepew's "cute little hop" to illustrate and encourage particular wrist releases when playing solid/block chords on the piano.
Baseball Bugs: " Watch me pace this pathetic palooka with a powerful pachydermous percussion pitch" Looney Tunes helped our verbal S-A-T scores later in life. 😆 🤣 😂
Of course we all know that before Buddy was shelved, he was given a second chance alongside the Warner Brothers and their sister Dot. Unfortunately, the cartoons made absolutely no sense and were locked away in the studio water tower never to be released, as were the Warners themselves. The studio disavowed any knowledge of the Warners until 1993, when the Warners escaped.

As a guy who grew up watching Looney Tunes, I have pretty much always considered Bugs Bunny to be the greatest cartoon character of all time, and I'm glad that both WatchMojo and TV Guide share my opinion.
While I like Bugs, I honestly think Daffy Duck is better for different reasons.
As someone who considers themselves a huge Disney fan, even I would Bugs Bunny ahead of Mickey just because I've laughed more at his cartoons.
Bugs Bunny's freaking great!

I was told by one of my Film Studies lecturers that ACME stands for 'A Company Making Everything' .
You should be a 107 facts about Fleischer studios. Anyway, my fave character in the Loonytunes canon would be Marvin the martian.
Bugs Bunny is my hero
Love the bit. Most of the facts I did know. I grew up watching over and over all of them. Even the ones that were blatantly racist before they were yanked. Thanks to RUclips now I can watch all of them again uncut...
they forgot to mention that mel blanc took over as the voice of elmer fudd sporadically in 1943, 1950, 1957, and then pretty much permanently from 72 to 89
Could you please do a 107 Facts about either Betty Boop, The Jetsons, The Tex Avery cartoons or Woody Woodpecker, if you haven't done them already?
Honestly as someone who had a stutter as a child and even today it occasionally comes back, I don't mind Porky that much
You missed the scandal associated with Elmer dreaming he was a gorgeous woman walking down 5th and Vine where the wolves pop out of the street sign. Originally, the wolves howled,"How old is she?". But later it was changed to "Ah-who-ga!" When TBS bought the original uncensored WB catalog and aired them (after 11pm in their attempt to create a TBS Adult Swim), I was shocked.
lol. I didn't know Space Jam was a spin-off of a tv ad. That's impressive. The more you know.
107 More Facts About Tom and Jerry
Mr. Kellogg (below): I use Pepe Lepew's "cute little hop" to illustrate and encourage particular wrist releases when playing solid/block chords on the piano.
Baseball Bugs: " Watch me pace this pathetic palooka with a powerful pachydermous percussion pitch"
Looney Tunes helped our verbal S-A-T scores later in life. 😆 🤣 😂
Those old musical black and white cartoons are so wonderful! God Bless Mel Blanc- a true genius and sweet man!
my favorite Looney Tunes characters are Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, and I LOVE Loonatics Unleashed!!
107 Camp camp facts!!!
HilariouslyScary yes yes yes
HilariouslyScary yup
Notification squad matthew here to be on the cartoon report .Lol
I work at FedEx and I can safely say Road Runner is now a mascot of some Ice Company...
