Picking up my 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT today and with the 3.0 liter V6 with a shiftable 4 speed automatic (not my choice). I have never owned an Eclipse so this will be my first.
Not bad for a 3G torque was real nice.. My 95 gst with 3in turbo back, cat delete, intake, boost controller 15psi=230whp. $1000 should get me 300whp starting out with a turbo makes life so much easier:)
That's pretty cool. Honestly, cool thing is that now we 3G'ers do 3.8L Mivec swaps and those are now the cream of the crop for builders to make 300hp NA since they respond really well to bolt ons! They can even handle 500whp to the wheels on low boost with a nice big turbo setup on stock internals

i got a stratus rt 5 speed and all the parts from the 6g74 to make the 6g75 3.8l go in cant wait .if anyone has done it can you gimme some tuning advice
I'm 16 and my dad and I are looking for a first car. I've always wanted an Eclipse, my entire life. We just recently got 2 great offers. The first is a 96 Spyder GS-T with the turbo. It's got a great top, high miles though, but is in good condition. The other is a 2000 Eclipse like yours. You seem to know a bit about your cars so if you were put in my place, which would you choose? They're both being offered at about the same price.

It may have not had the necessary power the owner wanted but at least he has the exhaust to wake up the neighbors if he decides to come home after the party or leave for church the next morning!

for reliability, i'd keep it NA...that's excellent power/torque for a 3000lb daily driver...

Look up Silvertune 3G and I guarantee you'll love it!

You would be lucky to see any kind of real gain from a CAI. I would be surprised if you got 2whp extra out of it.
Nothing. This is just a baseline Dyno run to see what the numbers were at before the turbo build the following winter.

Don't get the 2000 Eclipse. Get the 1996 one. The 2000 has many problems.
Don't get the 96 one.. it'll be on Jackstands for as long as you own it.. Get the 2000
