      Try to max out the confident link with Sadayo (your teacher) as soon as possible. She will give the mc massages that will nit take up time and then let you do something else that night after having gone through a dungeon. At one point she can also let you make infiltration tools in class as well.

      LeoWolfish i am getting her up, and i can make but im at the point of farming items to craft the inifinite lockpick thing so i wont need to bother with that..tho i hate the fact that one activity wastes a day,like i understand if i do something early morning then it passes time to mid day but it moves you up to night...thats basically 2 activities per a day at most then the long ass loading screen disguised as calander switching the day...gets annoying lol

      adir alon Fucking this. So many days are just fucking forfeited without any player input. I get that after you hit Mementos or Palaces you kinda should get to bed. I'm on 5/20 and I've had so many days where I just couldn't do shit at night cause Morgana decided I should just fucking hit the sack despite not being in Palaces or Mementos.

      I suggest that you don't bother with the lock pick that much. Most items found in chests are not that good and you could always just buy them if need to. Chests are safe to be missable. Try not spend holiday daytime in your house and go out socialising someone. In my opinion, Social Link is the top priority since they l won't be carried over to New Game+, and they give you some very useful content later on also.

  • @mrweatherby

    Not bad suggestions, but here's my take:
    1. Raise guts. The best early way to do this is to eat at the diner in the afternoons, since this also raises knowledge, which will help you prep for exams (these take place shortly after the dungeon and can really blindside you.) There's a few incredibly valuable confidants blocked behind your Guts progression. Renting the X-Folders DVD will let you continue Guts training into the night as well.
    2. Build lockpicks, there's four locked item chests in the dungeon. The game forces you to build one lock pick, and you can grind out material for three more when you venture into the dungeon. This also raises proficiency. Assuming you have enough parts, you can build three lockpicks in a single sitting, giving you all that you need.
    3. Don't bother with SP items. I know that sounds weird, but all the SP recovery you need can be found in the dungeon. If you play smart and exploit weaknesses, you can finish the dungeon in 3 days without ever using a SP recovery item. Technically two days, but since the game forces you out before the boss, three.
    4. Before day 2 in the dungeon, flip any excess items for cash and buy armor and a weapon for each party member. The better equipped your party is, the more likely they'll be able to do a deep dive on the second day. You should find a gold breastplate in the dungeon before then, it's worthless to equip this as the stat boost is pathetic, but it sells for 5k yen.
    5. Last, buy some plant food. It's hella cheap and feeding your plant is a non-time consuming way to build kindness.
    Everything the video lists you should do, but these will give you really nice bonuses in the early game. Especially guts. Takemi's is blocked from progressing until you rank up, and afterwards when you participate in her clinical trials, it helps build Guts. Kawakami requires a moderately high level of Guts to begin, but upon unlocking and progressing her confidant chain, you will unlock methods of saving time (letting you make tools with impunity, or completely freeing up nights after dungeon crawling, for example.)

      Blorp Weatherby You should be doing every castle like the world's in P4, so everything is done on day 1. But P5 has you wait another day, so calling card then boss on the same day.

    • @mrweatherby
      @mrweatherby 7 лет назад +16

      That's easier on the following dungeons, but the first one is a bit more tough to get through in one go unless you've stocked up on SP restoring items, or run past shadows and try to beat the dungeon at a lower than intended level. If you're going with the former, you're almost certainly going to be wasting multiple days brewing coffee, which is not an even trade. The latter is doable, but since this video is advice on what to do to prep for the dungeon, it's probably not intended for people who are going to be that good at the game right out the gate.
      You really don't want to waste the initial month away just preparing to go into the dungeon when that time can be better spent grinding out attribute points for earlier access to invaluable confidants. The dungeon itself isn't really hard, just long.

    • @cynicismIncarnate
      @cynicismIncarnate 7 лет назад +3

      Blorp Weatherby Well, you only need to get to the treasure in one day, it's not hard to just run away for enemies. Besides, you really just need a few Personas and a knowledge on Atlus games to easily destroy the game.

    • @mrweatherby
      @mrweatherby 7 лет назад +11

      No argument there, but my point is I don't think this video is really intended for people who have intimate knowledge of Atlus games, and neither is my advice. Odds are if you're already famliar enough to knock out the first dungeon in a day, you're gonna just do it.

      Yukiko's castle is actually the second dungeon,. And P3 is not a castle (nor does it look like one), just a very tall tower at the dark hour, a school for the rest. It's also false that it's the only dungeon, you go to the love hotel which is a dungeon. So there isn't much of a pattern at all.

    What I found really annoying is how often you don't get the option to do anything at all. I've been wanting to make lock picks for days now, but due to the story line I couldn't. And Morgana won't let me make any, saying I'm too tired to do so. I find that really annoying. Leaving the locked treasure chests in the castle is frustrating.

      Well Joker goes to bed when Morgana assumes he is tired becuse he is tired. He is a human and humans need sleep. I know from real live how sleep effects well being and work qualaty. That stuff is kind of importend. Also there are no scriptet early going to bed betwen the start of a mission and the end of the deadline. You know the game says the mission to steal (insert name) heart has begun. From that moment to the deadline the time is all yours. You just need to go to bed early after visiting the metaverse.

    Weapons are actually quite unimportant this early on. Not to say that it isn't a good tip, if you find yourself struggling the small bit of extra damage is definitely worth trying. But for the most part, all money should go to the healing/SP items.
    Also, I know the game encourages the weakness system, but Mona get Media quite early on. Basically as soon as this happens, switch Ryuuji/MC to spamming their phys moves in normal combat. You SP is better saved for challenging sub-bosses/bosses.

  • @tvann4060
    @tvann4060 6 лет назад +44

    I would strongly suggest, especially early in the game, to only buy melee weapons. You only use guns when they are weak to them, and they'll grant a 1 More no matter the how strong/weak the gun. Using a stronger melee weapon allows you save save a lot of SP too. You'll find several Soma medicine throughout the game, they sell for 50k each, to your model gun dealer. That will buy each character the best melee weapon, and will make you strong enough to complete the castle in 1-2 days. Lock picks are a early must have too. As soon as you can the confidant No Spoilers! with the roof garden is your best SP recovery medicine, and it's free.

    • @SapphirosCZ
      @SapphirosCZ Год назад

      And you get one of the best pistols (IMO) for early to mid game for free. The gun you stowe for Iwai has only 4 bullets instead of basic 8, but with pretty high chance to proc Shock, granting you technical on next hit.

    • @catalyst539
      @catalyst539 Год назад

      Yes, I am late, but:
      You absolute idiot! Selling Somas is the worst way to use them- they are way, WAY TOO VALUABLE to be selling. You’re better off hoarding them for the endgame, as they are a partywide full recovery of HP and SP.
      And Master Coffee and Master Curry from Sojiro’s confidant are the best (accessible) SP recovery items. Not Haru’s vegetables.

    • @catalyst539
      @catalyst539 Год назад

      @@SapphirosCZ That gun is terrible. It has no special effects. You’ll rarely ever be using your guns or melee weapons- you want melee weapons and guns with special effects, as the damage given by guns and melee weapons don’t affect Physical and Gun skills. For Joker, the best melee weapon is Paradise Lost, from itemizing Satanael (NG+ only), as it has the effect of “Reduce Curse dmg (high)”. The best gun is either Tyrant Pistol, from itemizing Lucifer (requires Hifumi maxed, gives +15 to magic), or Nataraja, from itemizing Metatron (requires Akechi maxed, gives +6 to all stats)
      I know I talked about late-to endgame stuff, but there are alternatives:
      Helper Knife (from Futaba’s palace, forgot the effect but apparently it’s good)
      I don’t remember the gun but here’s an accessory you can use instead:
      Any Treasure Demon itemized will give you an increase to all stats, of varying numbers.

  • @andou013
    @andou013 7 лет назад +46

    I'm not so sure these are particularly good tips.
    If you level up the clinical trials (Death arcana) she will sell accessories that restore SP every round in battle, the sooner you get this the better.
    The accessory makes completing the palaces trivial in on sitting and also Money and SP items become irrelevant as you can grind indefinitely in palaces/mementos, so i wouldn't ignore that arcana, i would actually raise it asap.
    As there is no way to get more bullets in Palaces and there are far more effective ways to attack upgrading guns is a waste of money, i'd only ever use guns to exploit enemy weaknesses and initiate a hold up. Weapons and armor also aren't super helpful as you can get nice items as drops, but they are still better than guns.
    I'd also never waste time on training in your room, the 5hp boost is nothing, there are plenty of other useful things to do even early game that raise your social stats, Studying, reading and DVDs are available inside the cafe, and the bathhouse in the neighborhood give a 2-3 boost to charm.
    One thing i agree with is cleaning the room asap, it'll reveal a plant that you can feed every 16 days for a 1-3 boost (dependent on plant food used) to kindness, feeding the plant also doesn't use up time.
    As for jobs, you have to do them a couple of time each to unlock missions for Mementos, but these aren't available until a while later and there are other activities that are far better to spend your time on.
    Some lockpicks are nice but don't stockpile them, eventually you can craft an item that is an infinite lockpick

    • @AlexisSandovalParkourMatrix
      @AlexisSandovalParkourMatrix Год назад

      Also like to add that if you got the bonus content, many of the accessories you get grants SP and HP vary the situation, soul torch grants SP after a baton pass, and the camera strap grants HP and sp when surrounded, good beginner items while you grind for the better ones

      The convenience store is only a waste of time if used more than 3-4 times:
      1st time for the introduction,
      2nd time for a normal work day (required to enable advancing on a Request; it will only advance on following visits), and

    I'm sorry to say but I don't see the points of the video, at all. I mean first of all you can do the boss and send the calling card way before the date and still do theses activities after doing so since you still have to wait for the deadline for the change of heart. Second since it's the very beginning of the game the choices are so limited that you can hardly do anything wrong and lastly you recommend among other things to do training in the room. I think it's by far the worst way to spend any evening in the game. A +4hp increase on Joker is just not worth it at all, spending time with all confidants is so much more important.

    • @TheTsunaru
      @TheTsunaru 7 лет назад +3

      I dont think there are any confidants you can spend time with at night before clearing the first dungeon (since you're stuck in the area around the cafe) except for Sojiro, and he very quickly gets locked behind a wall that prevents you from progressing with him until after the fourth dungeon meaning any time you spend with him is time wasted.
      I don't necessarily disagree that training for one night isn't really worthwhile, but since there's so little you can actually do at night this early in the game, you can end up doing it several times over. And that +4HP you get on the one day you do it can turn into +30 or +40 if you do it over the course of a full week. There's certainly BETTER things you can spend that time doing, like raising your social stats (studying or reading books), but a full week of training will give you the extra HP to survive a couple hits in the first dungeon, so it's not completely worthless, especially in a game where the incapacitation of your MC results in an immediate gameover.

    • @Tvdiet
      @Tvdiet 7 лет назад +3

      TheTsunaru but your gonna be levelling up a lot which increases you max HP anyway you training in your room is pointless to me anyway I have not had any trouble

    • @TheTsunaru
      @TheTsunaru 7 лет назад +1

      Tvdiet In the grand scheme of things, it's insignificant. But for the first dungeon, it has it's benefit. Like I said, there's better things to do, but training isnt a complete waste of time this early in the game when you dont have any confidants you can work on.

    As somebody who just beat the game for the first time, you do NOT want to mess around whenever the deadline for a new palace comes up. Annoying as it may seem at first, its better to focus solely on getting to a Palace's treasure room from Day 1 and 2 then stealing it ASAP so that you have oodles of free time to spend with friends and raising your stats/preparing for future palaces. So long as you don't waste too much SP in one trip, you should be making substantial progress even this early in the game when not many options exist for restoring SP.

  • @lhumanoideerrantdesinterne8598
    @lhumanoideerrantdesinterne8598 4 года назад +3

    I disagree with most of these advises. The coffee brewing especially is an extremely bad time investment. Brewing one cup takes one time slot and only gives back 30 SP. On the other hand, going to the dungeon takes 2 slots, meaning that, as long as you need to brew 2 or more cups to finish in one go, it's more efficient to simply take one more day to finish the dungeon. And sure, it gives a small relationship boost with Sojiro, but since the coffee isn't gonna make much of a difference, it's more effective to simply spend time with him.
    Training is also pretty bad. The health gain can make the difference in a battle, but even if you lose, you're just sent back to the latest Safe Room and don't lose any in game time, only RL one. Training should really be your absolute lowest priority all through the game. Making tools is a more efficient use or your time (notably lock picks) but the other social stats buffs are also a better use of your time in prevision for later. Reminder for the new players : study when it rains and go to the bath on monday and friday.
    Jobs are also pretty iffy, especially the convenience store one, which is probably the only one available to you at this stage of the game. The pay isn't nearly good enough to justify a time slot and unlike the others, you don't get social stats. The only interest is that a later request requires you to work twice there to get the name of your target, so you can work there once if you really feel that the money will make a difference so that finishing that request is easier once you get it. Still, this is very skippable.
    The only good point is that the clinic isn't the right place to buy healing items. In fact, I'd go farther than the video and say that you should never buy anything there until you get the half price reduction at confidant rank 7 (except for the SP patches 3 if you can afford them at full price). Sure, these items heal for more at once, which can be useful in battle, but dia heals for roughly 50 which is more than enough at this stage of the game. Instead, your money is better invested in melee weapons and armors which will help you finish fights quicker and save you the SP on healing.
    I'd say even for a beginner, finishing the castle in two days (tutorial parts excluded, of course) is reasonably easy even without spending too much time on preparation and should be your goal but taking three days isn't an issue. Finishing it in one day is possible, although really hard if you don't know precisely what you're doing and will force you to skip a lot of fights, leaving you under-leveled, which might make further encounters needlessly difficult. There is no need to rush too much early on, especially if you're new to the game.

  • @aaron75fy
    @aaron75fy 6 лет назад +1

    the thing is you don't need to do everything the first time through, if you grind through the game the first time and work on maxing out specific confidants (recommended ones Ann and Mishima for later) when they rejoin the list you get bonuses that definitely help
    with Sojiro as well since the coffee (and later curry) has a greater effect

    If anyone wants a more detailed breakdown on how to maximise your time, KillScotKill's guide is better for a more optimal playthrough. He also explains why he structured it that way which is why I am baffled that the channel owner would suggest wasting time on doing pull ups and doing the convenience store job over the beef bowl shop or florist.
    If you have the free DLC item pack, sell the Soma item for 50k if you are strapped for cash. As for healing items, keep an eye on the convenience store near the cafe as certain items dedicated to the season will be available and will also be discounted on Sunday (I think). I bought the strawberry seasonal packet (spring) for around 700-800 when it is usually 1,200 or so and will restore up to 70-80hp for the entire party. You can only buy one during the sale however.

    • @sombrego2260
      @sombrego2260 7 лет назад +2

      I agree, the pullups is like totally useless. I don't think the jobs are worth doing that early, specially the beef bowl shop (unless it already works towards unlocking the confidant ? if that's the case then it's definetly a priority to have it as early as possible since he's rather annoying to do)

    • @Blackemperess
      @Blackemperess 7 лет назад

      +Sombrego If I'm remembering correctly doing jobs on certain days can net you +3 points to a corresponding stat. The guide I mentioned will tell you when to work either the beef bowl job or the florist job in order to maximise your return so there is no fear of having time wasted.
      At the start of the game you don't qualify for either job until you up specific stats, but the guide covers that and directs you to them when you are ready and is at the most beneficial. Of all the stat boosting activities doing pull ups is the most useless. The only way I could possibly think this would matter is if you've gone into NG+ and don't have to worry about stat boosting quite as much as the first time round.
      The video also failed to mention that money is hard to keep because of how expensive a everything is, especially stat boosting activities like the smoothie stand or attending the cinema. At least until you get a few ranks in the sun arcana. (I think it's that one at least) The guide also won't spoil events, just point you to where to go and when.

    if u follow the bad advice here by wasting time working jobs for money or training for hp, the game will be just more difficult later. Persona game are about social link and character stat, wasting time on other activities just make u fall behind the schedule. I play on hard difficulty and can finish dungeon in 1 day, the trick is know weakness and train a lot on weak enemy so u lv up without wasting any sp (by alot expect 6-10 hour kill monster). It is boring at first, but later on the game just become easier even on playing hard difficluty on 1 st playthrough

    I think it's things you really don't need to do in first palace (except many lockpicks - 4 for first palace, more for future Mementos and start part of second palace before mission). Seems author like player too hasty one. All listed you can do after completing first palace. Still you need Takemi and Sojiri confidants before fusing personas. If you want use fused personas in first palace's tower then get confidants before tower.
    You can farm money (and ingredients for lockpick and sp recovery) in palace, when lvl up initial personas (Jack-o-Lantern, Pixie to start, Arsen to level 5) to maximize their skill count. More money then at job and not use timeslot. When fuse 2 personas with 5 skills you can inherit 3 skills instead of one. And get arcana burst experience bonus for agathion and mandragora they learn extra 1 skill, so you get personas with 6 skills. Level up them to learn 7th skill (and Arsen to level 7 for 5th skill) so you can inherit 4 skills in next fuses and get more powerful personas. For example (and for fun), I fused Berith (for longer usage with Sojiro confidant) with 3 healing skills and Growth 1; Succubus with zio, bufu, garu, Growth 1 skills (learn agi with level up).
    You can easily heal Joker using Jack-o-Lantern persona vs Jack-o-Lantern shadows. Bargrain with agathions for soul drops (coffee replace - less sp but not using timeslot). Usually they give fruit but have chance give soul drop. Kelpi can summon friends so really useful to farm tin things for lockpics. When your sp run dry don't return from palace. Instead, go to beginng of palace and use basic melee attacks and healing items to level up without spending sp. Level up adds your SP. More max SP you have when return from palace - more SP when you go to palace next time. So earlier you level up - more SP for palace visits.
    More tips: searchable items (but not chests) has respawn time. If you visit palace again in 2-3 days you can get more items to sell. You not get them if storm palace in one day or skip beginning of palace. Entrance hall also has 2 unlocked treasure chests so dont't skip examine it.
    School food for 10/20 hp costs less, buy at least 30-40 for lvl up farm. Using healing items with 50 hp recovery in first palace more like critical action, better load last save and replay if happens.

    If you want to max confidant first run, disregard everything he says bar Takemi, and just grind like hell in the palace when you get low and ask for items from holdups in the first part. Your first job you can get gives you no stat increase, and should be avoided. Training isn't a good idea until you get to the point in Ryuji's or Ann's confidant that the gym is unlocked, and any time that you spend doing for just one thing is a waste of your time unless you have no other options. To put it simply, time is far more valuable than money- don't waste it.

    This video may be old but I didn't understand a lot of these tips, kamoshida is easy to get through without any of this so it's more of a "do it if you want" thing, SP items aren't really a big deal especially in kamoshida as you don't have any really good persona unless it's dlc which you probably can't handle until after madarame or during madarame but SP items aren't even a big deal as long as you can actually exploit weaknesses and not just spam magic moves repeatedly, the other thing I found that was a bit weird was only having about 500 yen when you just got a part time job and have the ability to mug the shadows which is honestly enough to cover a part time job sense you can get money every visit to the palace during the palace and probably way more than a job will give you if you keep mugging shadows I personally only used jobs for the skills, also training isn't at all useful unless you are desperate to get a bunch of health which either way won't help due to the deadline being there and you will still need atleast maybe 4 days if you don't know how to play very well

    useless info honestly seeing as you want to hit the castle on 4/20 and do some prep work before hand.
    instead, on 4/18, you go to every where currently available and purchase soda's/drinks from venching machine's, trust me, its work the yen. don't do the convenience store job at all since its honestly a waste. also get pirate legend in the library at school while you're at it
    you then want to get some bio nutrients in the underground mall. and spend the rest of your day with takemi.
    during the evening you clean the plant area
    during 4/19, do ryuji's confidant so he gets baton pass, very helpful.
    during the evening, use those bio nutrients you just got and give it to your plant, then read the book "pirate legend"

      VegetaEx Gonna have to say it now, you should rush and do all the of the castle in one day. You should horde every SP item and use them rarely, so SP and HP aren't an issue. The calling card will be sent out on the first day the time limit and you will go and take down the boss on the second day, giving you enough time to 100% the Social Links.

  • @luckylucas8596
    @luckylucas8596 5 лет назад +1

    Edit: These tips are intended for base Persona 5. Some of them might still apply to Persona 5 Royal, but others of them (like which activities to do to raise social stats) might be done more efficiently some other way in Royal.
    Tips for people trying to do a high% run (slight spoilers):
    1. The first confidant you want to build up is Tae Takemi (the doctor). You need her buffing medicine, party HP recovery, and SP Adhesive 3s if you want to do minimum day Palaces (especially on Hard and Merciless).
    2. Pay special attention to Sayado? Kawakami’s confidant. She’ll give you the ability to craft/read in class, make coffee and lockpicks, and even give you an extra action after Palace/Mementos runs.
    3. Basically, don’t go to Mementos. All of your Mementos exploration can be done all at once since the “rattling chains” depends on how much time you spend on a given floor, not in Mementos as a whole. Worst-case scenario, you’re too weak to fight a boss right away, so you’ve can get it on a later, required visit.
    *Exception: If you’re coming close to November and you’ve racked up a bunch of issues that you need to clean up with your confidants, you might need to spend a day so that you don’t run out of confidant time.*
    4. Best ways to build each stat (not including spending time with confidants since you’ll already be doing that):
    Guts: Eat at Big Bang Burger - don’t worry too much about level 5 since you don’t really need it until very late in the game.
    Knowledge: Cheat in class, on tests, and study with friends given the chance. Confidants and reading should mean you can avoid studying on your own for the most part.
    Charm: Go to the bathhouse on Mondays and Thursdays and cheat on tests.
    Kindness: Buy fertilizer for the plant in your room, especially from the Red Light District.
    Proficiency: Make lockpicks. Once you have an eternal lockpick, make ammo or status related crap. Most of the stuff is useless after getting an eternal lockpick, but still grind out if you need it.
    5. Avoid doing the following: spending time with maxed out confidants, training in your room or at the gym (unless you already have 100%), doing activities that increase maxed stats, working at the convenience store or bar unless it’s for Mementos information, working for a place that you’ve already maxed out a stat in, going to the movies unless it’s with an unmaxed confidant, reading about places that you haven’t been yet (you’ll usually fill those in later), and reply with more suggestions.
    6. Get good at picking fights. You want lots of EXP and money with minimal resource cost. Prioritize SP, Bullets, and HP (in that order) until you receive the abilities to auto-regenerate SP and reload ammo. Yusuke is great against enemies who are weak to guns since he has the most ammo for single-target damage (because Ann’s gun is inconsistent against multiple enemies).
    7. Skills that lower enemy stats (especially Attack and Defense) are very important for bosses, even more so than buffing yourself since a lot of mid-to-late game enemies carry Dekaja. These will help your fights go smoother.
    8. Never make coffee yourself. Yes, SP recovery items are extremely important, but you need time to do other things. Buy drinks from vending machines daily/weekly early game and make smart plays around your SP Adhesive mid-to-late game. If SP is becoming a problem for you, refer to tip 6 and avoid fighting enemies that take up your SP.

      If playing Royal:
      1. I agree with everything
      2. Agree
      3. Hard disagree. If in NG+, you can fight the Reaper at level 12. Just ensure he ambushes you because that way he only takes one action per turn. Beating him with maxed out Mementos EXP from the start (because collected stamps carry over) will level everyone alive up to level 42.
      4. Knowledge: Study when possible and get every class question right.
      Guts: Do Big Bang Challenge
      Proficiency: Play Darts in Kichijoji
      Kindness: Go to the bar in Shinjuku
      Charm: Get every test question correct, and Bathhouse
      5. Agree
      6. No need to worry about ammo because it refills every battle. And also have a Victory Cry persona, like Izanagi no Okami or his Picaro form.
      7. Disagree, don’t waste several turns on multiple stat lowering skills, just use Debilitate
      8. Agree except SP Adhesive. Those are a waste. Use itemized Treasure Demons as your accessories.

    • @luckylucas8596
      @luckylucas8596 Год назад

      These tips were for the base game. Royal wasn’t out yet when I commented this. So, for example, you couldn’t play darts to raise proficiency. Also, refilling ammo between battles was not a thing, unless maybe that was tied to the Tower confidant. I also get what you’re saying about the Reaper, but I think the strategy depends on the difficulty as well as whether you’re playing base or Royal.
      In summary, I’m sure Royal adds things that make grinding certain skills and exploring dungeons more efficient, but my points are meant to be applied to the base game.
