Model Shipways 18th Century Longboat Part 3

Finally - an update on the 18th Century Longboat...
I've finished the hull planking and have sand it (relatively) smooth. The rail cap rail is done, and I am working on the cap rail lip and the molding under the frieze.

Buck you can speed up/improve the process, once you've soaked and clamped the plank in position/bend, by applying heat from either a travel hairdryer or a low powered hobby heat gun. It will effectively "steam" the plank, resulting in a much better and quicker shape.

Thanks for the tip. These thin strips dry pretty quickly (about 10 minutes. But I will keep that in mind when I plank the Black Pearl. Videos to come soon 🙂
