Uh, the linux kernel had around 25 million lines of code at the time... Why does the presentation say 5 I wonder?

25 million .... That's utterly terrifying. What the hell needs that much code? Obscure device drivers?

Where can I read why the speaker is skeptical about Rust?

WRT embedded/Iot I share George's concerns. IMO people building the X-ray machines and nuclear powerstations and lift control systems etc... and the people buying them need to be thinking a lot more about whether they really want an operating system & hardware that's going to be unsupported in less than a decade in that stuff they're expecting to last for many decades.

lol too many people being too sensitive. why is he not allowed to criticize shawn? a little bit of negativity and the tears are flowing. "negative" criticism is like 0.0001% percent of this talk.

Shawn is a really nice guy. I understand Georges criticism, but HBSD servers have been pentested with Kali Linux and the attacks failed.

why do you think so? is freeBSD really that bad in the security department?

@@Don_XII compared to openbsd freebsd is bad. compared to Windows it is good.

@@quarantinegrillmaster4532 Thanks, I've been looking into *BSDs especially freeBSD and linux. Running windows isn't idea anymore except for online games. aside from that casual "it's secure" can't find much.. how do you keep track of these security stuff to compare OSes?. I'm trying to find an ideal system for privacy, security and development.
      Thanks.

@@Don_XII Here is a site with some more "technical" information about things done to secure openbsd, but also how other os did it. Could be interesting if you're trying to find info on os security. isopenbsdsecu.re/

Mr George is laughing at something and doing the same thing himself… while insinuating to draw different conclusions. Hilarious HBSD and Shawn "fud" rant. Let's just ignore that part
