Yep. As an 'occasional practitioner' I can attest. Very difficult to learn to sing these songs, but once you master one, it gives you immense pleasure when you sing it. Not to mention thjose who are your listeners. The payoff is bigger.

That wasn't a falsetto. He just wasn't able to sing that higher note. Falsetto is a different way of singing the higher notes by sharpening the voice and what they have shown here is Radhe's inability to sing the higher notes which is then his strongest power towards the end of the series.

and to achieve this perfection, the production team actually took help of classical singers who used to show behind camera how the lip sunc with perfect expressions.
When you want to sing a high note but you can't do it with your normal voice so you change your voice to sing that high note. P.s- most of the Hollywood singers use falsetto but singers like Adele and sia don't use falsetto at all and also falsetto is like a sin in indian classical
The best thing to be noticed is that at the end of the song Javed Ali had to purposefully sing a bit wrong ...like WOW . Only legends can do this!! Hats off man👏❤️
He didn’t sing it incorrectly, it’s falsetto. It’s singing in high pitch rather than singing in high notes. Both are different but not incorrect. In classical music falsettos are not present for some reason. But falsettos are hugely popular, some of the world’s best songs have been sung in falsettos.
Just thought I'd chime in. Singing in falsetto does seem to be discouraged in traditional classical music. However, singing in the head voice range is totally acceptable because it's still in the singer's "true" voice range. Even the final alaap in the last episode is sung in head voice and not falsetto, which is why it was considered supremely masterful. Some of the music greats are able to get into the head voice with total ease, which is often mistaken for falsetto. Having said that, in this particular video and episode, even though the story claims he sang in falsetto, to me it didn't sound like it. What it did sound like was the singer struggled hard to get into the head voice range, resulting in a highly strained (and slightly off) chest voice. It sounded "bad" because he couldn't transition from his chest voice into head voice. Of course this was done intentionally by Javed Ali for the sake of the story :)

I'll be honest I didn't catch the falsetto when I watched this episode... It sounds perfectly fine to an untrained ear. But when you hear this in the Sangeet Samarath Samaroh, you can hear how much Radhe has improved in singing the high notes... Really phenomenal music direction!

It's a public mistake too. Prime knows that people will rarely watch these types of things. People will judge the show just by knowing its plot. After listening both plots more than 70% will choose collies number one without feeling the depth.

For those who are watching this music video for the first time and who didn't notice, radhe (singer in this video)sings a falsetto in the end, which is not allowed in the classical music(2:24), that's why there was an expression of guilt and realization on the face of radhe and panditji..

P.s- most of the Hollywood singers use falsetto but singers like Adele and sia don't use falsetto at all and also falsetto is like a sin in indian classical

He didn’t sing it incorrectly, it’s falsetto. It’s singing in high pitch rather than singing in high notes. Both are different but not incorrect. In classical music falsettos are not present for some reason. But falsettos are hugely popular, some of the world’s best songs have been sung in falsettos.
Just thought I'd chime in. Singing in falsetto does seem to be discouraged in traditional classical music. However, singing in the head voice range is totally acceptable because it's still in the singer's "true" voice range. Even the final alaap in the last episode is sung in head voice and not falsetto, which is why it was considered supremely masterful. Some of the music greats are able to get into the head voice with total ease, which is often mistaken for falsetto.
Having said that, in this particular video and episode, even though the story claims he sang in falsetto, to me it didn't sound like it. What it did sound like was the singer struggled hard to get into the head voice range, resulting in a highly strained (and slightly off) chest voice. It sounded "bad" because he couldn't transition from his chest voice into head voice. Of course this was done intentionally by Javed Ali for the sake of the story :)

I'll be honest I didn't catch the falsetto when I watched this episode... It sounds perfectly fine to an untrained ear. But when you hear this in the Sangeet Samarath Samaroh, you can hear how much Radhe has improved in singing the high notes... Really phenomenal music direction!

This has helped me to understand other music at a different level. Pop or Rock and Classical are two different genor. We can to compare apple with apple. There is no point in comparing Shehnai with Saxophone... Both has different expirence. No scope for superior or inferior debate
