Every song Patty Griffin sings produces a frequency of light no diamond has ever known...tuned into the human soul to illuminate forgotten corners where hidden treasures of the heart reappear. How does she do that...siren, sylkie, or angel with a vision of life that no other singer can render in human form.
David, there’s no small bit of silver in your own tongue. You write like an Irish poet. “...siren, sylkie, or angel” alone brands you bardic. If you aren’t writing...please start.
It might equate to heroin, from what I hear about the drug. I know if I start listening to her I won't want to stop. Of course, I listen anyway. Perhaps she's even better than heroin. I don't know.
I love this song, it's so poignant and beautiful. I've always seen Lorraine as an optimist despite her circumstances. Amazing how Patti captures story in song. Such a talent right up there with Buddy and Julie Miller in my opinion.
It's hard to say "This is my favourite Patty Griffin song"...or... "That is my favourite Patty Griffin song". I guess it's whatever Patty Griffin song I happen to be listening to at the time.

@@EchosLens she is her own form of heroin... and angel
That’s a beautiful way of putting the thoughts and feelings I have about Patty Griffin into words - absolutely beautiful.
Thankyou..I’m not sure all that although Patti certainly tells it nicely
