    Oxana i LOVE your work, your ideas inspire so much in me.. thank you for sharing this art with us!
    A quick TIP for my fellow Artists:
    * I use a tiny dab of Jewelry Glue to get the gemstone to stay in play as I wrap it with wire.
    * This is especially helpful if the wire you are using turns out to be much harder to bend than expected..(example) brass, bronze, or half-hard wire.
    * Use a 5x7mm gemstone. It doesnt have to be a cabochon but it makes it a tad easier. A 4x3 is likely waayyyyy too small and is better for earings (glue them to a backing).
    An 8x10 is still nice but it WILL be a BIG ring that will get everyones attention.

    I do love your tutorials. Thank you so much for sharing and teaching me so much. Last summer I took a class on wire and my teacher taught us to use thin tape (like you get at an auto shop for pin striping) to hold stubborn wires together and also cabs in place. Once you have them secured just grab them with your pliers and they come off clean. I hope somebody can use this tip, it makes it so much easier for me.

    I've done a similar but not quite the same ring but I put a dab of fast drying jewelry glue to hold the stone in place. I plan to try this since I have a lot of tiny cabochons from an assortment I got years ago.

    • @OxanaCrafts

      Yes you can use a bit of glue to help hold it, although I don't know if the glue would react with the opal in any way

    Very nice little ring but that wire looked like it was a booger to work with. You did do a great job working with that hard wire. I'm sure the ring feels much more stable with bronze wire, then it would with the softer copper and its a very cute ring.

    I use this design alllll the time and so appreciate this tutorial. I made ome altercation tho and instead of snipping the center half round Wire I use the ends to set my stone before trying to wrap the outer wires and it seems to help a lot with making sure it's good and trapped. :)

      Small round stones such as cubics or swarovski can be gypsy set in the side swirl. Make the curl the same size diameter as the stone and press down flat against ring shank as shown in video. Press the stone into the hole making sure the stone's shoulder is well inside. Use a prong pusher or round tipped metal object and press down on the wire swirl pushing the inner edge down around the stone to "set" it.

    Hi. Love your videos on rings, thank you. I am a complete beginner and just wondering about the metals which are to be worn on fingers? Will they oxidize, go green or not? Do the finished rings need to be treated with something? Thanks in anticipation.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  3 года назад +1

      Sometimes copper can turn skin green is constantly rubbing against it, like rings do. But I find that most people do not mind this because copper is believe to have healing qualities. But if you want to avoid the green you can just use another type of metal, or coated wire like Artistic Wire or Zebra Wire brands.

    wow, this is amazing. can't wait to try it. I love dainty smaller rings. I wonder is there a sterling silver or gold plated type of wire out there and could we use it in this case? I am sensitive to some metals.. especially nickel maybe copper not sure about this bronze :(

      Bronze is beautiful but more firm so harder to work with. Also, it doesn't come in as many different sizes. If I could get a thinner half round bronze wire I'd probably use bronze more
