This was so therapeutic. Two of the sax players I've emulated myself after, having a conversation about saxophone and life. My life is complete.
This interview is a dream come true.
Wonderful. I'm so in disagreement with the harsh critics of musicians such as Dave and Kenny. I'm a jazz guy myself, but I'm not a purist. I listen to a variety of music. The simple matter of fact is, these two fellows do what they do, and it's great. They're wonderful musicians, they appeal to a large audience, They're jazz, they're pop, they're soul, they're funk etc. And that's perfectly fine, I'm really happy they're doing their thing. They're actually helping expose the genre of jazz to a wider audience as wel, I believe so. it's all connected, related. Kenny's New Standards is so good👍🎷
My 2 favorite saxophonists 😊 They both helped inspire me to play sax ❤ I have been playing 30 years now all started in 5th grade. Thank you to both for inspiring me !!!!!

Very cool to see these two players together. I play harmonica, 48 years and was full-time at it by age 20. I started in Bluegrass Bands and then played full-time & toured in a Country Honky Tonk band, later I had a Swing Dance, Jazz, Blues, R&B band for 10 years that started with me doing a concert and hiring back-up musicians. Some of that show was songs by Kenny G (like "The Moment") that I had adapted to harmonica. I had been playing with Kenny G records for a couple hours a day for 2-3 years. After I started the Swing Dance Band someone introduced me to Dave Koz and I started doing the same (also David Sanborn, Eric Marienthal, Maceo, etc.) playing such songs as Dave's "Sax Man" & "Shakin the Shack"....people loved harmonica and saxophone (I usually had 1-2 horn players on board also) together. So, for both of these great players by spending time to learn from them by studying their styles I have benefitted in my musical expressions.
This was so good . We in this part of the world Guyana South America can only hear and see you guys on Cds Dvds and utube. This was really good l play alto and tenor . I also repair saxes. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

I love Kenny G. I was in college in 96 when when I started listening to his music. Helped me through so much. I would love to see him concert.

As a lover of smooth jazz and jazz music I love Dave and Kenny. I have fond memories of listening to Kenny g Christmas albums when I was a kid im now 36 and love jazz more than ever now
This popped up in my feed today, I just had to watch it again,Kenny G and Dave Koz make it all look so easy, because they are two of the best to ever pick up saxophones 🎷, but they have worked so hard to get where they are, and must be respected for that.
And you know, I love the stories they told about meeting Metallica and meeting Paul Stanley, fans don’t know, as they are so quick to judge or make up a beef between celebrities, but people in the business of entertainment really respect other people in entertainment, no matter what they do, like Kenny G said, as long as they are putting their heart and their soul in their craft, that’s what’s important, and that what’s respected.

What Is Shared is so Loved and HE Has a Way that You Feel Each Note played He is A Very Unique Guy just Being Who He is but You are Too! I first know Kenny G , in the breathless album,the sax sound is so unique.dave koz I know first when he show live in Malaysia in 90s.😊
I did enjoy the conversation. Honest, dynamic; an opportunity to know a little bit more about how they get inspired, their favorite melodies, and a lot more. Good advice to his son.
I laughed when talking about metal, and the tough guy approached him. Pretty cool he supports his sons, and let them know that they must be patient to get to the top.
Good to see their appreciation for each other as musicians and friends.
I admire Kenny's confidence and growth throughout the years; it's great 👍 that he has come around to respecting the masters of yesterday to the point of his paying homage to them, and copying fragments of their solos - which we all do, or have done at times.
Jazz players wanted Kenny G to have acknowledged the fact that the "Quiet Nights" solo he did was that of Cannonball's and not his; that he failed to reveal it, or to give credit to Julius "Cannonball" , the great alto saxist.
You are too rich to have demanded a $cut from the Getz' project, Kenny.

These guys are two of the BEST jazz artists. All you need here is Euge Groove, another talented jazz artist. I remember the first time I heard Dave Koz, he played the theme song to General Hospital. I am a big fan guys, keep putting out that relaxing, quality jazz music.

@@sundayaito4366 They really need to have a concert featuring these 3 legendary jazz performers. They all are very classy performers. Jazz is underrated, doesn't receive the attention it deserves, I really love it! In these very stressful times it's always nice to put some jazz on & unwind.

I first saw Kenny G play at the Playboy Jazz Festival in the 80s. (I was playing with the Long Beach State #1 band.). Count Basie Band was there and then this long-haired soprano sax dude shows up. Turns out, he’s pretty good!
