koz is king
He's king emeritus.
The King of Smooth Jazz 😇🎶👑
Cory and Koz, kings of smooth! Just got some signed merch, very excited about it! You guys are awesome!!
Dare I say it, you are the 'Prince'.
i would say albright is king, koz is prince.
It is funny watching Dave be so patient with Cory.
Sure, if you enjoy watching train wrecks
"Never underestimate the power of a Mcdonald's ice cream cone" - Dave Koz
"I think it's the reason we wrote great songs"
One thing that pleases me the most, is that, as a professional veteran musicians you don't seem to mind playing with younger musicians, I thank you for giving them the " Right Of Passage " in their quest into the musical world... I can remember back in the day 65-72 around about that time, it extremely hard to get ahead in the music industry without some one who was well-known that would take you under their wings and show you the ropes, the ins and outs...even if you were a marginal musician, it seemed like No one wanted to take a chance with you. But thankfully it isn't that way today, I have watched a lot of professional musician on this video tablet who been in collaboration with a whole host of younger musicians, and the younger ones exhibit a whole lot energy, and displaying a lot confidence, thanks for giving them the " Right Of Passage "...peace.
Not only a wonderful performer, but Dave Koz is a wonderful human being. He is a special person.
I'm into this new kind of "Koz"play
I love The Golden Hour and would love to hear more collaborations with you all.
Two very funny, engaging and talented guys. Thanks for entertaining conversation!
Smooth Jazz is awesome.
I discovered Cory Wong with this album, because i'm a Dave Koz fan. I'm in love musically with this tqo guys! Thanks Dave to introduce me to this BEAST!!!!!!! 💓
Great! As a music listener, so called Smooth Jazz has been my guilty pleasure more or less all my life. In the beginning, when I was a teenager, i didn’t even know i made myself guilty of anything. The collaboration between you guys really brings something new, contemporary and fresh to the genre. I enjoy the album, and of course the videos. I believe Mr. Wong is so ironic about the term Smooth Jazz because he knows perfectly well how important this genre is for his own expression.
Much luv and respect!!! Still looking smoooooooth as ever 😂😂😂. Love the collaboration work with the summer horn groups.
You are SO RIGHT- music has saved us and these interviews, virtual shows have been the saving grace. Thank you for always being humble, sincere and full of love. THAT IS WHY WE ARE YOUR FANS. Colleen from Naples.
It's enjoyable to see 2 people who genuinely respect, like and and enjoy each others Company.
So great! Well done both of you!!
You're awesome dude. I could listen to that alto sax all day long. 🔥🔥
Fantastic work!
Totally Dig this Collaboration. Far Beyond Epic!😎💪
Dave and Tom Scott are two of my favorites. I Saw Dave live to open for Manilow and was blown away.
The “plenipotentiaries of polyrhythms”!!! Awesome interview!!!
Hearing Dave @ 27:00 or so, about being pushed - reminds me of hearing Vince Gill talking about his collaboration with Sting. Same dynamic. Hearing such accomplished musicians describe such aspirations ... is inspiration! Thank you, Mr Koz.
This is a great collaboration!
Thank you so much...
Awesome... love it
yes! beautiful friendship you guys have
The live shows are great… David energy is amazing 🤩… 💕💕💕
I came across this with one eye open at about 4:30 in the morning and oh what a pleasant surprise. I've been listening to Dave Koz for many years here in LA. Before ktwv 94.7 The Wave changed their format from smooth jazz you could always hear Dave on that station. Cory Wong I came across in my RUclips Journey's I was amazed by his Funk vernacular. While he's not George Clinton he does have a taste of funk on a different level. This interview was quite engaging and interesting with their humorous banter between one another. I also learned some things about Dave that I didn't know... Wow. Keep up the great work gentlemen.
Already pre ordered the Album
Hahah love this!!
My brother was a producer at KTWV in Los Angeles for a handful of years in the mid-to-late 00s. Had Koz in for a guest DJ session and said he was one of the nicest guys he ever worked with. On a related note, I was invited to do a guest DJ session once and Koz's take on Pick Up The Pieces was one of my selections.
ok but real talk, dave looks so much more awesome with gray hair.
Koz calling out Cory on his bit.....love it!
42:19 It is a joke at your expense and it's the most wonderful thing imaginable. Much ❤ Koz!
👍👍👍
We need some more Kozwong.
The man, the myth, the legend
and Cory Wong
;)
Cory bashing Dave about smooth jazz is hilarious 😂 great album from two great musicians.
Long life for Dr. Norm 😁💪😉
Cory you are most definitely wrong! Smooth Jazz has become a powerhouse on his own. There are so many kids that are creating smooth jazz. Koz mix of smooth jazz, funk and R&B is second to none hand down. I cant wait for a collaboration between Dave Koz. Brian Culbertson, Kirk Whalen and Nathen East. Now that`s money$$$$
Loved this!
Suggestion: Supreme Potentate (exactly the words I think every time I hear Cory play)
Dave.
What is the first song called? Please
25:05 Can't say it's a bad thing but its sad that we missed C Wo in action
What if it the album was Right Effect by Wong Koz
What cameras were you shooting with?
I still don't understand why this video isn't called "The Golden 49-Minute Conversation"
Cory is like a puppy who is not house broken yet. Will he have the longevity like Koz ?
I'm betting he will
How about Mufti......or better yet....Grand Pooh Bah
Wong needs a chill pill. He doesn’t realize the big rock that he is standing on is
Dave Koz who could leave him in the dust in a half measure with a quarter rest in it.
Looks like Cory's kibitzing was making Koz a might uncomfy in the intro! I get where Cory's coming from, but as Koz says, there are many great artists laying out very funky and cool vibes in the smooth (I prefer the term 'contemporary' or C-Jazz) genre today. It's not just your father's smooooth elevator music today.
Looks like Dave is just tolerating him. Cory can help but continually make digs at Dave. Dave is so much more professional in and out of the studio.
Wasn't feeling his jokes about Dave. Cory Wong can only dream of having a career like Dave had and still has. The first two jokes were ok but to keep going on with it was not cool.
Exactly. His interviewing skills are meh😢
Big build up with little substance, not deeply impressed with the tracks
