This video explains perfectly how to remove your front suspension in total safety. It makes it easy to understand what you should do. It is probably the best video on the subject and can be used for other TR. Personally I have a TR3 and the principles are the same. Thank you Dr Doolin, I will follow your advises !!!
You can put a vice grip on the top of the shock absorber to hold it in place. The very tip of the shock absorber is shaped like a rectangle. This will keep you from damaging the shaft of the shock absorber.
