To answer all the questions - yes, Jadwiga was crowned as a king, even tho she was a gitl. Why? As strange as it sounds it totally has sense, it's not just one reason why it was done this way but few of them. - One of them is that in the polish law it was clearly stated that only a king can be the ruler BUT it wasn't stated that the king has to be male so it was a way to go around this rule. - The next one is that in old polish word "królowa" (queen) means literally "wife of a king". "Król" (king) and "owa" (wife of someone) so if you take that together you have "król-owa" (wife of a king). There is no such thing as queen regnant in polish language. - And the last one is that when Jadwiga was 4 she had her "sponsalia pro futuro" with Wilhelm of Habsburg. So basically they were married and they only had to consumate the marriage for it to be legally binding but to do so they needed to reach the adulthood which at that time was 12. When the polish throne became vacant she was only 8 and when she was crowned she was 10. Polish nobles didn't want to see a Habsburg on polish throne and they were hoping to find a different husband for her so to go around this they decided to crown her as a king to be sure that her future husband won't take any power from her.

@@QuyNguyen-xo2gf no - in reality she didn't have such problem with her voice. We don't mind if her voice herself sounds too Western, we mind she sounds like she has no idea what she's talking about.
I don't see why people call her pronunciation or voice acting terrible: First of everything, phonetically, no one speaks pure language. your dialect, the languages you use, your way of speech makes one person different from the other. My italian (i'm italian) sometimes is "corrupted" by my vibrant R who makes me make purr-like sounds when I pronounce it, as well as I sometimes have an intricate syntaxis. As for the voice acting...she was around 23 when she died. Let's say she has 18 years, maybe 20, since she looks still older than Lautaro. She's a young maiden in a complex reign, maybe a quiet and gentle woman. in the game her agenda is focused on faith, which is fairly "static" as resource. Everything leads her to be a character who is fairly calmer than the other leaders. Her introduction is a bit rigid, her agendas are soft, she just makes a "nope" face when she sees we ain't farming faith. She is annoyed but also distressed when she denounce us, like if she was unbelieving our maliciousness. and her defeat...she is scared to not be worthy of God's bless because her work. Is she less "flamboyant"? Yes. Does this makes her acting bad? Not in my opinion. Simply she is acting like a noble maid who is trying to give herself a tone.
Voice acting leaves a lot to be desired. Also, someone did not do their research concerning the 15th century Polish or just straight copied from the Sienkiewicz's novels
I kinda agree with the speed of her speaking... It's really slow. But for some reason whenever I hear her say "Radam" I always find it so heartwarming...

We don't mind if her voice herself sounds too Western, we mind she sounds like she has no idea what she's talking about.
Poland all was here
STOP sexualising that character, she is a literal saint.
I don't see why people call her pronunciation or voice acting terrible:
First of everything, phonetically, no one speaks pure language. your dialect, the languages you use, your way of speech makes one person different from the other.
Jadwiga's country: *"EXIST"*
Some mean with moustaches: *RED GLOWING EYES*
Huh?
Voice acting leaves a lot to be desired. Also, someone did not do their research concerning the 15th century Polish or just straight copied from the Sienkiewicz's novels
That voice actor, tho xD
I kinda agree with the speed of her speaking... It's really slow. But for some reason whenever I hear her say "Radam" I always find it so heartwarming...
Fact: "Radam" doesn't mean "good" but in old-polish it means "I'm glad". Greetings from the future after 3 years
i see lots of hate on this one. so let me get few things done:
1) the talking need to flow with the animation
2) 98% of the people who play civ aint polish so no one give a dam about if she talks slow or fast...
Fonix 555 English, please.
98% of the people who played Civilization VI don't absolute care about if Jadwiga talks fast or low.
English?
You had one job
they should put this in CIV 7 but they need to do a better voice actor than this
she looks like so disneyish. Those clothes remind me of some disney figures but i dont know who. If i can remember i will rework my comment.
I like her, she is really pretty
We can safely say that this voice actor is.. unPolish-ed....
I’ll kick myself out
0:19 she sounds like small child getting angry and crying, while trying to roast someone.
0:30 she sounds like she got rekt before and is still cracking it
