These 4 cells probably took a lot of hours to finish. As an illustrator, just watching the process already made me exhausted because of how much motivation and focus it requires to do this repeatedly for hours. The anime animators deserves a lot more respect! 🙇
I am 100% guilty of it but, throw motivation in the trash, and see it more like your day work. Do you have ANY food or item you like a lot? I like pizza and frozen very much. And in order to eat pizza, someone has to make it, either I, or someone else, but let's say someone else has to do it. Now imagine if whoever makes pizza stops, in the middle of the week, because they don't have the motivation to make the pizza, even though they own a pizza store. I would not have any pizza to eat, ahhhh how horrible... he or she has to make the pizza, its his or her day job. I will pay for the pizza, I want it, why isn't there. Why is today not a pizza day. Woe woe woeeee. All because of motivation, instead of "Just make the darn pizza." And likewise. Just make the darn image. Your motivation plays no role, just schedule some vacation time in there, but otherwise, treat drawing like a pizzamaking job. You might not have the customers to prove it, but if you did, and you decided to "Oh I'm not drawing it today" and a customer enters your "The it that is drawn" store, cause it's still open of course. And comes in and you just say" Sorry no motivation" and you'd crush the customers spirit. Make the pizza, Kyru. Make the pizza, Dorkly Morkly. Make the pizza, everyone. Just make it. Motivation does not come into it, you're running a drawshop and there have to be drawing, so, draw.
Imagine drawing all day for just a few seconds. Thank you all the animators in the world you are amazing! Make my childhood till now be awesome to life!
Yeah, I started to learn animating for 2 weeks now. I just finished a 20-second scene in 1 week. And the art style is only minimalist style. Animation is truly a lot of work.
@@jiedragonhub I tried Blender 3D, year ago, and trust me, 3D takes even longer than 2D does, by at least 3 times. Its because I had to model on front, side and back view, then make a skeleton rigs (which kept breaking), and then weight paint. All these tasks in 3D takes hours, especially on first time nmaking a 3D character. I got one of my siblings to try out Blender 3D and 2D flash, and she prefers 2D flash loads more.
Quick tip: there is actually already a shortcut for rotating the canvas... you can use shift+space... and to reset the rotation you can double left click while holding down the shortcut (shift+space+double click).
Also, note how Dong, after telling you to use the Onion Skin to draw the Animation Reference drawing (the one with the Triangle) actually flips between drawings, too. This is kind of important so he (or you) does not end up getting trapped in a boring, robotic trace. By flipping to the actual drawings instead of purely relying on onion skin (or the lightbox) you can see arcs between the line points better. It's also why real oldschool animators 'flipped' or 'rolled' the pages with their fingers before putting down new lines. Some animators don't even use the onion skin for some cuts, especially ones with big movement and only use onion skin/lightbox for very very fine movements where the spacing of the lines is really important and onion skin helps not drawing the line over the old one. But you can do whatever you want. Just be aware that flipping the drawings and observing how the lines and corner/start end points of the lines move from the first drawing to the next, while you draw the inbetween of that, can be really helpful in getting a more 'flowy' inbetween. I think this is so second nature to him that he didn't even think of mentioning it. Something he cannot really be blamed for. But I still think it's worth pointing it all out.

The curved line tool totally opened my eyes, I’ve tried animation several times but I always get frustrated on the final clean up pass because my line art looks different on every layer. I’ll definitely try this for more consistency
The thing that surprises me most in this tutorial, as someone who has been animating for a while, is the fact you make extra inbetweens in the Cleanup stage, and not during the tiedown or even the rough animation stages.
oh man, I wish I watched this tutorial years ago! Animating in CS makes sooo much more sense now; I was always overwhelmed by the amount of layers there are.

How to import into blender and then composite it in after effects. There are many videos on doing the 2d animation but not the finalizing step at the end.

Thank you for the video! Can you do a video where you show exporting to after effects and show the common things you do for composition and effects etc? I was always interested to see what I should be doing to my animations in after effects. Like what are the most common effects that we should know or that are used often.
I usually separate the head from the hair on a different folder. This way I can freely animate the motion of the hair. Usually animate my head bald or shaved head haha
I know how to do all of these (kind of, i get the idea of it) but its just that i dont have a project to begin with! I have no ideas of what to animate. Even the head turns i draw, eventually i either pause and never come back to it or i give up midway.
Is there a way I can start my own manga/anime without millions of dollars? I have an amazing idea and the characters/plot all written down, I just need guidance. Like how much do I have to pay for an illustrator and animator ? I’m wondering if I can take out a loan and pay them or if this freak I have is just unrealistic
I have a question. When you do the fill in for small pixel areas, you are working in black and white. But I saw you using the color swatches as you did this. How or where are you keeping track of the different colors that go into the areas that you need to fill?

Thanks for this tutorial! Looking forward to trying Clip Studio more seriously. Out of curiosity, what's the rationale for having the dpi set to 192?
Brooo pleasee use this simple example and show how to do basic composition or lighting etc . This has helped so much but can you do the full process

Question: @21:37 how come you set the highlights and shadow to draft for big fill ins but when it comes to smaller details you take it off?
Mannn retas was way more straight forward with the color separation lines :(
I wish csp would make a feature where it automatically colors the selected colours wahh
Thank you for the video! Can you do a video where you show exporting to after effects and show the common things you do for composition and effects etc? I was always interested to see what I should be doing to my animations in after effects. Like what are the most common effects that we should know or that are used often.
The best I've seen and on to the point. Is it all right to ask if you could do a tutorial for compositing the animations made?
I usually separate the head from the hair on a different folder. This way I can freely animate the motion of the hair. Usually animate my head bald or shaved head haha
I know how to do all of these (kind of, i get the idea of it) but its just that i dont have a project to begin with! I have no ideas of what to animate. Even the head turns i draw, eventually i either pause and never come back to it or i give up midway.

Please make another tutorial for csp
GUYS can i make jujutsu kaisen season 2 with this one?
Yes. CSP is what some animators use in the industry
this what i need,,tq so much
Amazing 🔥👏👏👏
Is there a way I can start my own manga/anime without millions of dollars? I have an amazing idea and the characters/plot all written down, I just need guidance. Like how much do I have to pay for an illustrator and animator ? I’m wondering if I can take out a loan and pay them or if this freak I have is just unrealistic
I have a question. When you do the fill in for small pixel areas, you are working in black and white. But I saw you using the color swatches as you did this. How or where are you keeping track of the different colors that go into the areas that you need to fill?
IVE BEEN DOING IT ALL WRONG I FEEL SO STUPID thank you big time bro 🙏🙏
quick question - why do you use line tool for clean up?
