@@JonIsJustTooLoud It is indeed very useful you are showing the clean tones of this amp with air to breathe, letting ring the notes out, it sounds so easy and relaxed.. I think you convinced me on getting this amp, too! Thank you.
Jon, other than sharing the same name, I will never share your skills on guitar.😢 . You and Shane down in OZ are the only guys on the internet I believe and can count on regarding guitars and gear.. I just received mine this morning, and then I found your video.🤣 Great sound, but quiet enough for my room in Japan. Haven't enjoyed an amp this much in ages!
Have this same blonde Tonemaster. Very versatile amp for rock, country, blues and jazz. Sounds great with archtop jazz boxes. It's the only amp I really need. Nice that it doesn't weigh a ton, too.
I bought the black tonemaster a few years ago when they came out and loved it so much, I went back and bought a blonde. I use them both together with a Line Six M9 in one and a Boss ME25 in the other. While my tube amps gently weep. B good and thanks for your review.

Congrats! I love that Fender amp tone. “Fender clean” is truly a thing of beauty, and with a touch of delay/reverb/gain, I personally need NOTHING else. Your Orange sounds great, but I’ll take the Fender any day. I can tell how excited you were to get it by the fact that you plugged into it while it was still fresh out of the box. Oh, and I didn’t realize you had a pet coyote!😉
Got a broken Tonemaster Deluxe Reverb here that was given to me. I'm fixing this and watching the clips - this amp sounds amazing and of course you're a good guitarist and know how to get anything to sound nice. 😆
I got mine a few weeks ago because in Australia, we have End of Financial Year sale, so I got mine relatively cheap (S$200 less than the price you shown). Great amp and thank you for sharing your settings because I'm still experimenting with mine.
I love your reviews and l like solid state, tube amps also modeling amps. They all have their good qualities. This amp has great classic looks , perfect features and great tones and to see you give this one a good review makes me really think about buying one although I should be satisfied with the amps that I already own. Fun watching you and your always great guitar playing and tones- thanks for sharing 👍🎸🙏
I play this amp 90% of the time at home. I also own an Electra Dyne, Fillmore 25, Maz 18, Z Master, Deluxe Reverb, and Super Reverb Tone Master. My DR TM may be the best of the group.
I got the twin reverb tonemaster blonde for some outdoor gigs. got a good deal. im "all in" on the practical aspects of these amps. Creamback is perfection. Find myself using the attenuator all the time. the weight makes sense for a gigging musician. For smaller gigs and rehearsal i need one of these Deluxe Reverb blondes. For me the tone is unbelievable with those cream backs
I've been gigging with the TM deluxe blonde for over two years now and love it. and my back loves it to. i use helix for my effect without the modeling. and i'm a tube snob.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud But I haven't taken a big amp out since the pandemic hit. Someone gave me a H B Monoprice 15 watt cabinet without the amp part. Just the speaker so I tapped it for a jack and hooked up a Hotone Mojo Diamond (Fender Tweed) head on top. Whole thing weighs 10-15 lbs and with a D I I'm good anywhere. I can hear myself and send signal out. I carry everything in the back seat of a Mustang. You know that ain't much room.
Excellent playing! I’m going on 3 years with my blonde one. It’s been in a road case and used every gig on a major tour. No problems yet. Sounds great with the DI out using in ears. I have other excellent choices in my arsenal but I’ve been happy with it.
What a beautiful sounding amp Jon. Congratulations!! I hope it serves you well. I’ve seen comparisons of this and the tube version and there’s little difference between them that I can hear. I would genuinely save hard and snap one up if only they had put in an effects loop. But that’s just me. I like a lot of different pedals including an SY200. I can’t wait to see what you come up with on this baby 😃👍👏👏❤️❤️
I did a “side by side” comparison black vs. blonde and found the black to be a more open sounding amp. The speaker in the blonde gives a warmer and richer voicing but at the same settings it was not as present if that makes any sense. I could EQ the black to get very near the blonde with a lot more presence at lower volumes. Ended up buying the black.
Really nice review! I really love your videoes. Have you tried to connect the two channels together? I have had my blonde DR-Tonemaster for over three years now. I connect out from no. 2 at the normal channel and in to no. 1 on the vibrato channel. My guitar goes in to no. 1 at the normal channel. I set the volume the same at each channel (to avoid "out of phase" type sound). In this way I can decide how my reverb is sounding (more dark or more bright) depending on how I set the treble and bass on the channels. It gives me more options tonewise. My favourite settings now a days are: Normal channel: Volume = 3,5 Treble = 1 Bass = 6 Vibrato channel: Volume = 3,5 Treble = 6,5 Bass = 1 Reverb = 2,5.
Great job and nice playing. I would like one of these but there is a lot of information about the internal parts not lasting more than 2 years. Do you feel that this amp is worth the money right after the warranty runs out?
Hi Jonathan, what a very detailed and extensive review of this amp. We really see you're a professional musician by discussing features if this amp that an amateur would not need. A solid pine cabinet gives a more mellow tone than a birch plywood would in my experience, which is good here to go along the G12Neo which said to be less harsh than the Jensen but less creamy than a well broken in G12M. Being delighted with my tube amps VoxAC15, IbanezTSA15 and Hiwatt20, do I have any good reason to get a Fender ToneMaster ? 😊
I would say comfort and ease of load in and out at a gig, but if you're using 15-watt tube combos, you're probably not in need of one. I ordered one particularly for gigging. I'm sure there will be a sacrifice in tone (there ain't no way around that), but I can settle for that with the other pros going on with this amp.
Very nice guitar playing ! What would the difference be between getting this Tone Master or getting a Fender Mustang III and using one of the Fender Deluxe presets ? They are both digital modeling amps.
Jon, when I got my first good amp, considering my meager funds available for an amp, I blew it all on a Boss Katana Mk2 2X12 100 watt combo reviewed on another guitar channel belonging to (Good Gravy!) Dave Simpson. A young eccentric, quirky guy from England. Great guitar player. Check him out if you're interested...It's fun, lots of possibilities, and it will blow the curtains through a closed window!😂 I do want a tube amplifier one day, just because I've never played through one.

I have this version and for the most part, I absolutely love the thing, the only issue I have with mine is using the DI. If I put a lot of gain through the amp via pedals the DI on either cab sim setting can sound fizzy. I've worked around that by sticking a high pass filter on in post but in the room the amp sounds great, just when I listen back to the audio I get fizz, any tips? Thinking about experimenting with third party IR's and turning off the cab sim.
