That's like saying if you paint in the naturalist style, you're stealing from the naturalist who came before you. The logical extreme of your argument against AI art would be to have every single type of art style patented and owned by specific artists, and then no other artist can draw anything similar to it. It makes no sense. Imagine if the first person to draw in the manga/anime style patented the style. We would never be able to have any other manga because "only the first creator can draw like that." It makes no sense. I understand artists are mad they are losing jobs, but people lose jobs to technology all the time. It's just the way of the world. This is the same thing as factory workers complaining about automation taking their jobs. Also, the number of artists whom the AI was trained on who had a truly "unique" style is incredibly low, I would guess under 100. ALL artists learn by copying other artists' styles, and most of them never get their own truly unique style. Again, I understand that it sucks people lost jobs, but that's the way of the world. It is what it is. Journalists have been telling factory workers "learn to code" for decades now, but they want to act like AI art is a travesty? It doesn't work both ways.
