Yeah, I’m pretty sure this job is exactly what that opening is intended for. Taking the front off is fine for replacing the belt, but not at all necessary for the tensioner.
This was a great video very easy to see everything he's doing and explaining I have only one question that doesn't look right to me and that is the way he installed the belt on the tension pulley looks like both sides of the belt is rubbing on the pulley making it impossible to turn the drum
The spring has two different ends, one end has a small straight part. Does it matter what end of the spring you use? I noticed it was on one way and he replaced it the opposite way. Is this an issue?
It took me a couple of times watching it to see it, but you're right. Good eye! It shouldn't matter, but I would install the new part the same way the old one was installed just to be sure. When in doubt, always put it back the way it came off.
If you're replacing the tension spring then that means that your belt is all slack already and has to be repositioned to work after the spring is replaced
This is the best guy to watch to get these repairs done yourself. Very thorough and helpful.

Or you could just remove the one screw on the back. for the exhaust tube. and reach in. That takes three mins tops.

I did it that way from the vent panel in the back.

Curious when one would have to install a new spring, what symptom are you remedying?
If it's broken or damaged or if the belt doesn’t have any tension and it keeps falling off the pulleys.
Wow completely diff dryer but you made sense of the pulley thing thanks for a quality video 🙋🏻♀️💖
Thanks for the video!
Suspected of design flaw, the spring of the Samsung dryer is easy to fall off
DC93-00634A is the new part number for Samsung dryers. This part has been redesigned
This video is just for the idler spring. The part number you posted is for the idler arm assembly it does not replace the spring, two different parts.
Sorry, Have never seen the spring needing replaced. Didn't watch the whole things. I am the Samsung tech for Bismark ND area.
1. 6:06 vs 6:34, 🤔🤔🤦♂️
2. Unless you’re replacing the belt too, Why not go through the back at the exhaust? 🤔🤔🤦♂️

Fixed! Thank you for your fantastic video!
You're welcome!
Why would you leave out the part that shows how to put the belt back on????
Helped thanks
You're welcome! We're so happy to hear that you found the video helpful.
YOU PUT THE SPRING ON UPSIDE DOWN!
AND YOU DID NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE MACHINE APART.
