Ya got me now, carb cleaning is allways interesting for some reason, ive never worked out why ha ha :-D
Get that venturi tube sparkling clean :)
1 and 1/2 turns out on the air screw seems a typical starting place, odd aint it :-)
***** Some call it the emulsion tube, but yes ive had hell with motorbike carbs running rough if some of the side holes were semi blocked.
The holes seem to control how much extra air is added to the fuel/air mix at different throttle positions.
The throttle needle controls the amount of mixture and interacts with the side holes for extra air.
Its a crude understanding, but someone has to say it ha ha :-D
I have an LMT with a "Pressed In" pilot jet. Got the genuine Briggs rebuild kit - but inside the float bowl it was worse than I thought. The "emulsion tube" / "main jet" hole is corroded a bit, and the emulsion tube would not come out (3:15). In fact, it broke off and turned to a "one way" screw and I can't get it out. Can I use an extractor?
This is the generator I'm fixing, and here's what I think is the Briggs shop manual (click link at bottom) - www.mytractorforum.com/threads/adjusting-carb-or-governor-on-a-5000w-coleman-powermate-10-
Curious, Ever encountered an LMT with the Needle Valve stuck in place? I have one right now i'm dealing with that on, no Ultrasonic so i'm settling for the old gas soak method at the moment.
Any recommendations?
I could, but I'll use that as a last resort, getting parts were i live is not an easy/quick task.
hm, new problem, carb is all cleaned out as best as I could get it and needle is fixed (did not clean the emulsion tube [stuck and stripped by someone else] or inlet nipple), but i'm still having no fuel getting to the engine....the fuel inlet perhaps?
no, gravity feed, it's a 42" Craftsman LT1000 with one of the Commercial grade Intek 17 HP's s in it (uncertain if it is the original Engine), 1.5 gal tank.
