i remember watchin hard knocks chris benoit documentary from 2004 and benoit wanted to see if the rock could go in the ring and at fully loaded 2000 sure enough the rock was legit
Rock vs Benoit was such an underrated feud. Around that time Rock was stepping his in ring work, and that feud brought the best out of him. Same with Angle and Jericho.

He was fucking magic in the ring. Technically there were superior athletes, but as all out entertainers, Rock had pretty much everyone beat - from his moveset, selling for others and doing promos MID-MATCH. He was a one off.

I like Randy and Everyone's entitled to like who they want to like but the company has been hitting New Heights in the last 2 to 5 years with the guys that are on top right now. I don't think you can point at certain wrestlers and attribute that success to them in the same way but you could point to Steve Austin back in 1999 and say "that's the motherfuker" but I do think that these current guys deserve some credit.
I remember John Cena being on a podcast, probably around 2013 or 14, maybe it was Steve Austin's but anyway he was talking about how he was kind of thinking about winding it down in the ring because the future of the company was going into a different direction a more high impact, high flying style in the ring because that kind of action translates to the world because people understand what they are saying maybe even if they don't understand English or whatever.
I always kept that in mind to see how that would turn out and I don't know... when you look at that Style and what it is now the first guy I think of leading that charge is Seth Rollins as he is like a mix of Shawn Michaels but also a mix of a lot of that high flying stuff you'll see in the indies.
I don't really get the whole character that he's doing now with the suits and stuff but dude is flat out a master in the ring. I'm a fan of that.
I'm not a weekly viewer of the show but I do keep up with it and I do watch WrestleMania season and when I saw Cody go over in the rumble my thought was "cool, I'm not 100% sure if that's the guy that I would have picked but let's fucking go, let's *make* somebody." And I hope they go through with it. Roman versus The Rock should be built up over the next year. They've been trying to lobby for an Emmy Award for that bloodline storyline, well it would be a lot easier to lobby for if you have a Hollywood star as a part of that... I think that they can do it and that it can be one of the biggest matches of all time and then you have the championship to headline the second night. Just my two cents 🍻

Seth is good one of the greats but rock literally had era defining matches five star classics with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin. You can’t replicate that seth to this day hasn’t had a huge marquee matchup. He hasn’t changed an era like the rock has.
