Many great Lebanese people! Danny Thomas was inspirational to me, as I admired him on his own TV and loved when he interviewed children! Then he went on to found the great children's hospital. He's demeanor was that of my own dad and probably what got me watching him.
Wallah, shukraan for this video. I'm so proud of my Lebanese roots and this video touched my soul. It's awe inspiring to see the sheer amount of successful and influential Lebanese people showcased in this clip. The source of my pride for all who was featured is not because it's a long list and many are very famous and well known rather it's the high level at which all of them are at and beyond that it's the contribution to humanity and society that my wonderful brothers and sisters make. Scientists and artists, leaders and pioneers, innovators and on and on... every one served something greater than themselves and that I think is another defining characteristic of what it means to be Lebanese. That's why our familial bonds are world renowned; we're raised to serve our families because the family as a whole is greater than the individual family members and that fuels our love amongst family members! My grandparents on both sides immigrated in the early 20th century to the United States; maternal roots are from the southern Bekka (small village of Sultan Yahoob and Loucie) and my paternal roots are from Zahalé. La Viva Lebanon 🇱🇧!
Trees may be rooted where they are, but those trees, the Lebanese Cedars, are what allowed the first people to set sail across the Mediterranean in the first place. And the location, as a gateway between the east and west, became a hub of trade and mutliculturalism. The ideal of Lebanon may be in it’s diaspora, but the material value, the land itself, is what made it possible in the first place, and I think it’s about time that those who claim to be “proud” to be Lebanese, actually demonstrate this and help the actual country and its people. You can be proud of your own achievments as an individual, but only those who are living in Lebanon and trying to make it a better place can be called “proud Lebanese”.
Phoenician/Hittites = Assyrian. The pre Christian, and Christian, roots of Lebanon. May the success forever fall in the Lebanese's favor. Never complain and work hard, indeed.
Yeah I noticed they skipped the biggest success of all Carlos Ghosn! He is like a semi god, well was anyway until a year ago, I guess with all the legal issues he is facing they preferred to avoid the controversy and keep it safe n clean. As for Elie Saab he is based in Paris so he is kind of an immigrant, at least a modern day one. Half the time in Beirut and half in Paris. We all are in today's connected world I guess. He might even have the French nationality but I am not sure.
Hello! I am a Lebanese leaving in Lebanon & I am so impressed by the work done so far. I work for a leading Newspaper in Lebanon & we would like to create awareness and share successful stories about the Lebanese Expats. Can i get in touch with someone so i can share a proposal for a project that will feature the Lebanese diaspora and aim to inspire the younger Lebanese in Lebanon and abroad?
I'm so proud of having lebanese roots, considering all the achievements made by our people. However I'm furious that the makers of this video chose (in the fleeting mention of Argentina) former president Carlos Menem and current first lady Juliana Awada as examples. He is one of the world's most corrupt and machiavelic politicians (gave our country for free to multinationals and embezzled probably billions) and she is a cruel "bussinesswoman" (had sweatshops with migrant child slaves) married to our current inept president. Besides, I recall Menem's parents were from Yabroud, Syria. The other example, Karen Maron, is actually redeeming because she has outstanding work as war correspondent; sadly few know her in our country.
Very impressive video. These people started from nothing, but good family backgrounds, with a forward looking view. They had to leave Lebanon and succeeded. They were emigrants. They accepted the new country, but maintained contact with the original culture. Good on them. Trump should look at this video, but he will not. He also is the product of emigration.
I understand that the Lebanese diaspora wanna include as much Lebanese sounding names as possible to the list but sorry Marisa Tomei is of Italian origin and not Lebanese. Just saying!
She is a Lebanese Italian mix apparently. I always felt she looked soooo Lebanese but never thought of researching further, a quick google search now and yep she has Lebanese roots. I remember Georges from Seinfeld being obsessed with her haha in one of the episodes, she was rather huge in the 90s 2000s..
Idk a big part of this people. But the most famous lebanese girl. That half of the population on this planet know is not there. Maybe her job dont deserve respect? Pff she is more famous, successful and rich than almost all of this people here!

Amazing video, but missing Tony Fadell, Carlos Ghosn ... many others. And Elie Saab is not an immigrant.

Actual numbers are closer to 40 Million
I was told that number is conservative
some of the provided info is wrong or not objective, but overall 6/10
Carlos Menen, ex Presidente de Argentina es sirio, no libanés. Toda su familia es siria de origen y se casó con una siria,
Claro!
Wow

Bottom line: we've accomplished more than most people know about while dealing with never ending crises 🇱🇧💙
Marisa Tomei isn’t Lebanese
A true measure of a race or culture is it contribution to its beloved race and people and the Lebanese and Lebanon have failed miserably.!
Marisa tomei is Italian not Lebanese
her father is of Lebanese origin.
