I find it fascinating how involved owning a katana is.. from preventive maintenance to repair to sharpening etc... I think it's what separates it, one of many things, from other swords😊

Well said! I would agree there are so many parts that have to come together well and unibodied, that when they do, its glorious, but maintenance and care are so necessary as an owner. So different and so much more disciplined than any other sword in History

That copper is easier to work but also easy to mar up. I like brass, but it is harder to work so in my mind it should cost more.
Like I've said in the past, the katana is a completely unique sword.
Your hair is looking ready for summer, Joe. I don't see bald as much as I see cool high and tight.
Excellently edited video and beautiful, clear pictures!

Yes you are right, Brass although might be easier to mold than Copper. Copper has been present on many High Price swords, and more often it is shaped and molded very close to blade which is better quality and value in aesthetics and many Copper Habaki are hand made, while Brass is more made in form with generic molds, The above is very general statement there are certain specifics with these steels that can make them more or less valuable....And many thanks for the compliments my friend

One of those things on a katana, that can really be a disappointment on good sword if not done well, or a pleasant surprise when it is, on a cheaper sword...yes we all love them
